Just give the GE some time... prices will settle! I'll give the example of the rune axes, of wich I have a nice amount myself as being a rune smit, now they are 14.901gp each (14.154-15.674 gp), coming very close to the price of a rune bar wich costs 13.780 gp (13.091-14.469 gp) now. Looks like the axes are even going to drop more since there is allot of supply but little demand, even at the lowest price... The economy will stabilize itself... The GE has shown me some new ways to get smithing and magic xp at the same time as making money, great update :

Give the GE some time, you're talking like it has been out for months but guess what it only came out two days ago! In these two days allot of prices already settled and more will follow soon. I hear you talking about supply and demand but isn't that exactly what the GE is? The prices are based on it! Give it some time and if you feel like this in a month maybe you should consder quitting :uhh:

Plates aren't actual profitable... takes 5 bars (roughly 14-15k ea) wich means that your plate costs you 70-75k to make.

Ermm... crazy Idea, don't use a scout? What's the advantage there? Not losing an inventory of rune ores when there is a lvl 120+ team waiting for you...

If you got a rare I suggest holding on to it. There are multiple rich people now, together with their friends, trying to lower the price even more by posting fake selling threads. Their plan is to buy a massive amount of rares so they can control the supply and thus the price. In a few weeks/months the prices will go up again giving these people nice profits.

I also asked that question today, got killed 2 times while rcing. When I attacked the pker (with my addy axe) he said "No, you can't do that!". :-k

Steel is the best choice xp/cash/time-wise, trust me, got to 89 smithing on f2p before quitting, tried and calculated all of the possible methods, steel comes out best :)

It depends on the laws on this matter in the country the gold farmers are situated. Violating runescape rules doesn't mean they are violating the law. Don't forget procedures like this cost allot of money even when succeeded.

Takes two coal and one iron ore to make a steel bar... you've got 60+ smithing, weird that you don't know it... I suggest merching high demand items like rune, coal or lobsters.

That will boost the popularity of the blast furnace. Not a bad thing I think, could make rune bars a little cheaper.
