  1. Sorry, but I can't see what is wrong here. Can you give a bit of info about the bug? Perhaps circle the problem so I know where on the screen to look?
  2. I like this update. The Assist System change is welcome, simply standing around while someone else chopped/fished/hunted what you could do yourself was completely pointless. The quest sounds fun. I'm not currently a member (And haven't been for quite a while, due to studies), but I am sure I will enjoy it when I get back to p2p. Oh, and I really think it's pointless trying to open a box which just doesn't open. You call it the 'Bandos Box' (I don't know why, but that's because I haven't tried the quest), so perhaps it takes the power of Bandos to open it? Two questions; Firstly, what is it with Jagex never finishing their storylines? They better not make a new one before they finish one. Secondly, why is human curiosity so damn predictable? What is it with people and mysterious boxes? Next, the Xp display makes a lot more sense. *Posts a letter containing a chocolate chip cookie to Jagex, then fills in a form to confirm my work is done*
  3. All of the above poster have basically summed it up. Random events make the process of training much less monotonous, plus they hinder autoers. I am pretty sure that the vast majority of randoms are impossible to complete with a program (Mysterious Box, Gravedigger, Sandwich Lady). As far as I know, programs simply can't figure out the rotating objects. Also, losing Hunter equipment is part of the game! It's not supposed to last forever! Deal with the problem! (The_Platypus' suggestion is brilliant, Lunar Spells, despite me not being able to master Lunar Diplomacy, truly are wonderful). The rewards can sometimes be decent. I wouldn't mind picking up the odd half key and emote now and again. Dragonstones can be a nice financial boost if you craft them into glorys, or you can be resourceful and use them for abyss crafting. During combat training, clues, uh, say it all. Sure, usually the rewards are not very good, but then you need to deal with it, are you going to bank, drop, cut, or sell that sapphire? I appreciate that the frog random, from the fourth random (Clothing, Mask, Frog Music obtained by purposely failing the random) and afterwords is not worthwhile, but then I would agree that it needs to be changed.
  4. to make you stand around unable to do anything(to pee you off) like most runescapians would love to do You can stand around not doing anything by yourself. Why do you need to accept someone's help in order to do this? If someone is not doing what is agreed, you can then withdraw the assist and go off and do what you want. Just because someone says 'assist plz' doesn't mean that you should assist them. In fact, 'fr33 st00f plz' is essentially the same as 'assist plz'. You are essentially getting the stuff yourself and then giving it to the noob who won't give anything back for the service. Treat them the same and explain that the best way to progress in the game is to level up skills.
  5. You're cool. +1. Every Off-Topic forum needs a pompous (and self righteous) arsehole. They aren't complete without one. And for that, judgment_al gets a cookie with 'arsehole' written in icing on the top.
  6. I'm thinking so. It was tragic then, tragic now. A repost? Someone has posted this before? Umm I think it was actually about some guy slapping some girls on the arse. They saw no offence in it but he got a 2 day suspension. One idiot slapped some girls [wagon] in my school and got expelled. One girl smacked some guys arse and didn't get in trouble. The guy smacked her arse and got suspended. Odd world, isn't it? Why can't this 'political correctness' thing get it right? If we can't get rid of it, please let it do some good in the world and at least show some kind of social equality. Please. A hug is a sign of personal friendship, it's not indecent. Now, as rsautohater put it, 'sucking face' is indecent if you do it in broad daylight in public. People don't need to see that kind of thing in an environment such as school. Oh, and despite my numerous jabs at Americans, the stupidness doesn't always happen there, it happens here in the UK alongside with plenty of other countries. Who are these people who decide these 'faceless' rules which restrict personality so much? If this kind of thing happened to me during the examination stages in school, I personally would probably not be able to cope with political stances and campaigns and all that jazz against these unfair rules alongside with studies etc. Rules are usually the right course of action, some things should be restricted to make a decent school. But some rules go too far and can make student's lives a misery.
  7. And theyve jumped on iit like a starving squirrel would the last nut on earth. There being stupid. I thought they would wait to go over board untill the new trading thing was implamented. I would conclude that many of the people posting these rants are pissed because they can't scam as easily anymore. Ya im that cynical towards the general RS population :( But there ya go, there proboly all eaither scammers or people whoi just need to complain. In Real life we call them b****es (<-self censored) and wieners/sissys (<- for the male's) (wieners pronounced: wee-ners. Cant spell it #-o ) It's not that the whole RS population are scammers, it's just that scammers are much more vocal, so there seem to be more, but I see where you're coming from. What will happen eventually is that eventually TN@RSOF (The Noobs at RuneScape Official Forums) will run out of steam when they figure out that nothing is gonna get changed because they can't construct a strong argument against the AS. In fact, I don't think anybody here can construct a strong argument against the AS either. It's a flawless update, but it takes a bit of digging to conclude that.
  8. The Rants of the RSOF is where Jagex (thankfully) puts all their trash in one place. I wonder how many times Jagex Mods would look though tif's bugs and suggestions section for ideas, instead of just the RSOF? I get the feeling that it's higher than we would think. :

 I just finished my cup of tea when I spotted this. My personal choice is English everyday/breakfast tea with milk and no sugar, but some green teas are nice to have once in a while.
  10. Why not slap the idiot? :-k It wouldn't help him to listen, but it would make you feel good anyway. :) I think we should generally ignore the RSOF, aside from the very occasional spoilers and decent suggestions (Believe it or not, there are some!), because it allows Jagex to literally control the chain reaction in the reactor known by us tip.iters as the Rants Forum From Hell. Jagex made a perfect update, but the only thing is that the idiots cannot understand why. Perhaps it's because they expect the update to have a flaw or some sort and treat the next best thing: An aspect of the update which could potentially have a flaw but actually doesn't.
  11. QFT. 'Innocent until proven guilty' is not a completely valid statement, it has the odd loophole, but it does facilitate a system of law which is more efficient and less prone to corruption than 'Guilty unless doubt of guilt'. The latter statement of reasoning has much larger and more numerous loopholes. I guess that's one of life's objectives. Find a better statement than 'Innocent until proven guilty'. :-k
  12. I have so many fond memories of Norfolk. I lived there for the first 8 years of my life, and its great. Yes loads and loads and loads of farms, but I love that. I'd prefer to live in a small village than an inner city. You lived in Norfolk? \ I am not alone! Norfolk does have it's merits, and the Norfolk Broads are a wonderful place to visit too. I personally live in Norwich, which is worthy of praise in the history department, with the Cathedral, the Castle, and many other historical buildings, but I have to agree, the outer villages are much better.
  13. That's exactly what my cousin had! I'm glad tif isn't completely pro-drugs and some of us retain the slightest piece of decency.
  14. Paperclips, I'm not even gonna quote you. The whole 'are we are aren't we causing global warming' debate is now so steeped in controversy that we are now running around in circles whilst our crude oil reserves are dissapearing, which is the basis of our lifestyle. The point is, it doesn't matter. I once believed Al Gore, then disbelieved him, and now I really don't want to know. Either way, our lifestyle is gonna literally crash if our oil reserves run out and we can't supply ourself with electricity. It's as good as the world flooding, which according to Al Gore, is gonna happen anyway if we keep arguing. The CO2 emission reduction (And Global Warming, and Polar Ice Caps melting and all that crap) is just a side-effect. Why can't we just forget about it, and sort out some better methods of electrical generation, like wind power, hydroelectricity, and Nuclear Power (But we need to make it safer and arrange places to bury the waste until we can harness Nuclear Fusion, instead of Fission) which will then allow us to use a better fuel like hydrogen (Which you can easily obtain by simply electrolysing water), sorting the whole 'what we gonna do to move our cars?' debate. Stop running in circles everyone! Forget it and move on!
  15. Oh yeah, I forgot about that. If you think that someone may have seen your password, change it. Be paranoid. It's better than losing your account.
  16. Keyloggers suck, but Jagex are getting better at locating what is a keylogger and what isn't, so cookies to them. Next time, try to get a better anti-virus program. To be perfectly honest, you aren't properly protected if you only have freeware. Try to get a professional all-in-one piece of software which you have to pay for. They're much better. I use Panda Antivirus, but I'm sure there are plenty of other decent ones out there. Maybe you should talk with a guy in your local IT shop, s/he may be able to recommend one.
  17. Lol, nice. I never knew you could telegrab the display tea.
  18. Oh my god. Why is everyone on tif so pro-drugs? Seriously, my cousin almost died because of his marijuana addiction. Now he has serious mental problems because of your so-called 'harmless' drug. I'm not taking this from the bloody media here, I'm taking this from a personal loss. He was a decent guy, but now he's messed up. Good luck with your bloody weed. I'm not taking it, and I suggest you do too.
  19. Hmm, I live in the South East, Norfolk, which I think is a bit too far away, but it is a fairly nice place. Lots of farms, but a nice place. However, London is a great place to visit. The Lake District and the Peak District are also beautiful places as well. Hope you enjoy your stay!
  20. Or abuse it. I think there may be certain limits, or the Grand Exchange works differently, such as the items stay in your bank. It's kinda stupid to suggest methods to exploit an update which doesn't exist yet.
  21. Even if RS does cease to exist. tip.it wont. The community is strong, and they're planning to include more games over time anyway. btw. coke, pepsi tastes like piss. Well said. Tip.it is such an evolved community that it could actually break off Runescape, if the need ever arises. Off topic is simply a discussion of the world, and so long as the world continues to exist and 'live', new subjects will be created. The wonderful thing about our off-topic forum is that we have extended far beyond 'This or that', touching on social matters or major political issues. And I agree, Pepsi does taste like piss.
  22. Weird. The pattern of where RS is deemed 'acceptable', 'nerdy', 'unacceptable', 'must-play' and various other titles seems to be slightly chaotic. :-k I gotta agree that WoW players are the main driving force behind those who put down RS. But to be honest, I can't understand anybody who plays that kind of game which is so blatantly obviously orientated at the group known in some cultures as 'no-lifers'. I have never played WoW, and I have vowed that I never will. If you say I'm 'missing out', I really don't give a [insert insignificant object here]. You aren't the boss of me.
  23. I think that we have a winner: Both players and Jagex seems to be very pleased with themselves and with the other party. When you say the 'auction house' from WoW, what actually happens there? When I think auction, I think bidding, almost eBay style. I don't think Jagex is heading in that direction. I think they want to keep the trading system on a strict basis: You trade items for money, or vice versa, or bartering: items for items. The only difference is that you can simultaneously perform another activity whilst selling an item. Mind you, it is a pretty awesome difference. \ Assist system: Another nice update, which I'm sure will help the 'flow' of the Gielinorian economy. And the mysterious update: I don't think it's the so called Mechscape (By the way, the name sounds like a tacky ripoff, I think Jagex is moving in the wrong direction here.) Jagex is much more intelligent than we would think. By the sounds of it, this is something we weren't, and currently aren't expecting. Speculate all you want, but the best thing we can do is try to drink in the 'hints' which Jagex will allow to trickle out in the next few weeks. Somehow I get the feeling that Runescape related forums everywhere will start to overload with speculation topics... :-k
  24. Have any of you thought about what would happen if you placed a shotgun cartridge in a vice, then hit the end hard with a chisel? Yep, you guessed it. Bang. Apparently it's possible, but only if you hit it right. I've never done it, but my shooting teacher knows someone who has. I think it sent pellets into his foot or something. You don't actually need a gun to blow a cartridge, but the gun does make it significantly more deadly. Also, it was highly idiotic to place the cartridges in view, especially when all of the boxes are clearly labelled 'shotgun cartridges' or equivalent. You see, the punishment was not directed at her potentially using them with a shotgun as a weapon. The facts that this article provide prove it. Actually it was the factor that not everyone in the school has these kind of qualifications. Before you know it, someone sees the cartridges, smashes the window, and tries to make it explode. Plus the whole cigarettes in the car when she knew it was banned was also stupid. Why can't people not try to reduce the punishment, but not break the rule in the first place? :notalk: Sometimes the obvious bias in the article isn't always right.
