  1. Exactly. If the wages are so poor, why are these people working for BK? It's not like some kind of loyalty system or something? This kind of thing is really common... everywhere. Plenty of big businesses are unkind to their employees, and this is no different. We live in a cruel world, so we should just adapt away from the 'undesirables', since they sure ain't going to listen.

I may just see if I can order the books when this whole thing finishes. Er, this is going to finish at some point, right? ...right?
  3. I think I better get digging my super-secret-underground base. Plus, I have a horde of 12 bore shotguns... somewhere. Now, where did I put them?
  4. It's a howling wolf. I'm sure of that. I'm guessing that the other pieces are going to be in the other development diaries. I would have never thought of it, so well done everyone!
  5. I can't believe that people still are labouring under the delusion that RWTing is legal in real life. All in-game items and accounts are the property of Jagex Ltd., and real world traders are selling something for real money which they do not have any legal ownership of. That accounts for stealing, and then the buyers are breaking the law for buying stolen goods. Say, you let someone into your house for a party, and they take your DVD player out when you aren't looking, and then sell it to another party goer. The item hasn't actually left the house, but it is stolen and sold to someone else. These kind of people go around looking for 'parties' and then take 'items' to sell to other people. And worse than this, they are employed to do this by someone else.
  6. Do you consider yourself as a 'life life to the full while you've still got it' kind of person? Do you regard smoking as a method to socialise with other smokers?
  7. As said by others, autoers are a dying breed. We've sacrificed a lot to do this, and RS doesn't want to take any more hits 'for the greater good'. What exactly is the autoer population like now? Is it going down or what?
  8. Good idea. And yes, anything which involves 'laying down' something should incorporate this.
  9. That's basically it. However, bots are almost invisible to a program nowadays. Apparently if the program detects it, it increases the chances of a random event. It may not be true, but that's what I heard.
  10. I wonder why Jagex missed this. Cannons don't sell as parts, and with the 6 item buy/sell limit, it's very important. This isn't a convenience, it's a necessity.
  11. How do you feel when 'Smoking could ruin your health' and 'Stop smoking now' and 'Smoking gives you and everyone else cancer' campaigns get thrown at you? Do you feel regret, or do you ignore it, or what? It's just that I don't think I could ever live with smoking, and the guilt that comes with passive smoking. Oh and what is your stance on the comparison between marijuana and tobacco? In your opinion, should marijuana be legalised?
  12. The incentive is good, and I'm glad that the US government is cracking down on something that frankly, shouldn't be here (as in, the Internet). However, putting on a huge fine if you don't report something is just pointless. And besides, because of the ambiguity of the act, it's up to the discretion of the viewer whether to report or not, which will result in fines for people who judged wrong. Anyway, shouldn't the government be doing this kind of thing themselves instead of press ganging (forced recruiting) the public?
  13. Smart of her to say that too. She wouldn't want to instigate those fanatics to hunt her down and kill her. +1. She couldn't say anything about her real views on it because she's been scared into submission, for fear of her own life. These people need to be stopped.
  14. It's a good idea, but I wouldn't implement it yet if I were Jagex, simply because the GE prices do not accurately reflect the true market prices... yet. On January, it would be a good idea to update, because the prices will be more accurate. Oh and for those people saying it will mean that the priorities will change and you will lose a different item, that's not a bad thing because you will always end up losing the cheaper item of the two. Besides, you already know what you're going to lose if you check. (However, I do appreciate your point somewhat, so a good idea would be to have a timer when the GE prices will update, so people are aware of any priority changes.) Oh, and the fact that party hats were valued only 1 or 2gp in the priority system was wrong in the first place. Tradition is not always the best thing.
  15. So it's... To be tasered, or not to be tasered, that is the question? :-k I would take not to be tasered, it sounds very painful and it would probably happen before I managed to say anything anyway.
  16. Looking back on my own posts, I haven't disproved the actual idea of a repeating universe, it may be the case that multiple universes may exist one after the other, but there is a finite number of universes. Anyway, you need an origin and time scale on your sine graph if it is meant to reflect the size of the universe over time. Where are you going to measure it from? The middle of infinity? If you divide by zero, you will get the same answer. Oh yeah, I forgot the 2nd law of thermodynamics. The infinite existence of consecutive universes breaks that law. And if you've ever gone through the whole 'make your own perpetual motion machine' drama in lessons, like I have, you will know that it is impossible in any situation. I can pretty much guarantee that you can't get around it, no matter how complex the machine gets. And the universe is the most complex machine of the lot.
  17. If you think about it, every measurable concept, be it length, area, speed, or time has to have two things: A unit of measurement, and an origin. So, a length needs to have some kind of origin somewhere to be considered possible, because otherwise it is uncertain, and therefore not a measurement. If you wanted to draw a line on a graph, you need axis, which ultimately needs a unit of measurement and an origin. The issue with time is that we generally measure it from the time of the birth of Christ, which then allows for a value of 'negative time', also known as BC. However, this is not a true evaluation of time, because it doesn't start with the origin: the creation of the universe and therefore the start of time. The only reason we use the BC/AD scale is that we don't actually know the exact moment of the creation of the universe, and anyway, we would end up having dates which would fill pages and pages, which is impractical. Another example of this is the Celcius scale. It is not a 'true' measurement because it does not start at the literal beginning of temperature: absolute zero. Instead, it starts at the melting point of water because we can easily relate to it (everyone has an idea of how cold 0 degrees C is). To solve this in science, the Kelvin scale is used, which is a 'true' measurement because it starts absolute zero. Please tell me if i'm missing anything here, of if I make no sense.
  18. Alright, alright. I was asking a question whether we should, not a 'we should do this' suggestion. Shoulda put in a question mark... :-w Edit: Full stop removal and question mark replacement and insertion procedure completed. All systems are go.
  19. Oh, I think I've seen it. Damn, I can't remember the title either, but yes, that's basically what's going on. Jagex is trying to achieve perfection by destroying what is imperfect, or even has the potential to be imperfect. In the end, you realise that once that goal is performed, there is not enough of the perfect to have a point. Maybe we just have accept that there is no way to have a self sustaining game without some kind of method of cheating, and so we will just have to resort to reporting and manual banning? IRobot, and no, it won't be worth it in the long run. Ah, that's it. It was a good film. Should this be a poll, because we have people thinking on either side?
  20. The issue was not the +/- 5% price restriction, but Jagex's poor initial prices. The problem is that the GE prices are very inaccurate due to poor research, and the best way to fix it is by readjusting the prices closer to the proper values. And please, if the GE doesn't allow you to put a price on an item which you think is fine to sell the item for, don't use it for now. Perhaps check if the price move into your price range then sell it. I don't support because removing the restrictions would destroy the major purpose of the GE.
  21. Very true. I know that we have no right to protest with another countries laws, but we do have a right to not want anything to do with them, which is exactly what we need to do. Has our government actually debated on it's support of Sharia Law, and it's countries under it? I mean, if that happened, I'm sure a vast majority would agree that it is barbaric and immoral. Or are we too scared because we might offend someone who has no right to protest against our own laws, much like we don't have a right to protest against theirs? The point is that nobody should actually protest, but we can make ourselves known by withdrawing support.
  22. The cyclic universe theory doesn't address where the energy/matter (they are one and the same) came from. Your sine function graph is on the assumption that time is not affected by the only existing body being a singularity. And even then, there is always an origin at some point on the time axis. So, if time effectively loses definition by the only existing body being a singularity, the universe is not cyclic, it simply has a beginning and an end. If time existed on a different definition than what matter and energy ordains (a 4th dimension, if you will), the 'time axis' needs to have an origin, as does any measurable concept. And 'negative' time is impossible, because it needs to be defined by a certain event: the original creation of the universe. Hang on, did I just disprove the Cyclic Universe theory?
  23. So what's the best way of doing this? Acceptance?
  24. Oh, I think I've seen it. Damn, I can't remember the title either, but yes, that's basically what's going on. 25. There are some wonderful suggestions here, but let's broaden our minds here. Think about it, a lottery ticket is staring us in the face. Also, a (somewhat ripped) copy of the Varrok Herald is staring us in the face. It could be the case that the Varrok Herald will become updated (perhaps a monthly?) and that a Runescape lottery, with a reward of experience, gold, and items? There are several storylines, but a significant number of them seem to be merging under the title of 'Mahjarrat'. The climax is going to happen, but we don't know when. So basically, if you find a clue which predicts the 'return of the Mahjarrat from the north' and similar ideas, i would file them away for now because there have been predictions for a very long time. I get the feeling that the chaos elemental letters do not seem to come in waves, only referring to the next month. Clues from previous letters seem to also refer to clues from present ones. Perhaps we should archive them in the same place for easier reference for everyone else, perhaps outlining some explanations, theories and other bits of info? I'm talking about not the AoW, I'm talking somewhere in the site that's permanently in the same place. Flitting about the Postbag from the Hedge is somewhat time consuming when you try to put the pieces together. Thats... brilliant. A cat...apostrophe... Catastrophe. Wow.
