  1. After all, it's not like they did that with Farming in any way. Or had little shiny sparkles in the place fairy rings are now before FT 2 came out. Or, in fact, have just dumped an entire PET STORE into Yanille without telling anyone. Everyone knows Jagex's style. They know how to do the 'hints here, spoilers there' thing, and have got it down to an art. OT, I would treasure that egg until January. Nice find.
  2. That summarises half the reason why they are removing drop trading anyway. Well done. =D> Keep the account, it may be useful in the future.
  3. If they are just throwing us a bone, we're drowning in bones right now. Anyway, nice to see more hidden yet not hidden updates.
  4. I heard that ScapeRune was a parallel dimension. Then again I may be wrong... Gielinor is round, that's been confirmed. I wonder whether it would actually be possible to script the world to wrap around... so you can go off one end and appear on the other easily, without something crude like a teleport.
  5. I agree that this kind of racial generalisation shouldn't occur. However, I don't like the idea of messages such as 'Not all muslims are terrorists!' being pushed in my face even if I outwardly explain that I never thought that in the first place. Frankly, it's racially stereotypical to think that all white people think that all Middle Easterns are muslims and terrorists and are inherently racist.
  6. I've never cheated on tests and never will. However, homework is a different matter, because I know that not handing in homework gets you the worst of both worlds. The teacher doesn't know how you really are doing, and you get told off for being 'disorganised'. Trust me, I've been there. So, I'll get help from my friend, and vice versa. I bet everyone else in my school does that too.
  7. We aren't idiots either. If I am to believe what you are saying, you are being gullible if you are starting to believe that a loophole has been found without knowing what it is, especially from the word of mouth by the RWTing groups themselves. I don't want to hear baseless conclusions, and I suggest you don't either.
  8. It's probly programmed to realize starred words and then it goes through and rereads the starred words to see if they are mistaken or not. I'm confused here, why don't they just star out the words in game if they can recognise the bad words in the first place? I know about the Alt codes, but it seems ludicrous that they can still recognise it and yet not take the simple option. Am I missing something here?
  9. Of course they can still do it. Older accounts can still transfer money because the trade restrictions aren't in place for everyone yet. After the restrictions go to 100% coverage on January, that wouldn't be possible. There will be no loopholes here. Xpandax, I get the feeling that you are actually a RWTer who is trying to stir up false rumours to get Jagex to revert. It's not going to work. You obviously made no kind of suggestion to your 'friend' that RWT was cheating and was ruining the game. You claim to know RWT methods, and are very secretive. I don't trust you in the slightest.
  10. I'll keep that in mind. Cruel world isn't it? You're better off not apologising and instead fighting your punishment... Just being overly curious, what comes up when you press 'view evidence'? Does it show a screenshot or something? I've never been landed with an offence, so I wouldn't know.
  11. I haven't played in ages. But that's got to do with rl issues (exams and such), but I never PKed or Staked, so I'm not quitting. Runescape is much more than PvP combat. Infact, I'm renewing my membership after my exams.
  12. Have you noticed how many ideas which have been suggested here/on TruthScape have ended up going into the game recently? (The new GE sets, LootShare function which sells the loot on the GE and splits the money...) Maybe you should just post your ideas here, it may have a higher chance of grabbing Jagex's attention. The reason why it's Tabooed is because there would be too much fire and brimstone being flung around the rants and suggestions forum for Jagex to be able to extract any decent ideas.
  13. The problem is that programs do not have a concept of that 'rule' which discourages PKing Abyss RCers. Maybe Jagex felt that Abyss RCing was too efficient because of this 'rule'. However, I don't actually know how efficient is too efficient, neither do I know how Jagex would know either. Maybe Abyss RCers should just be that more smart about what they're dealing with. Maybe they should put in a reserve activity to whittle (yes, this is a hint) away the time while the teleblock wears off?
  14. Nice, I'll get going. Oh, and wasn't the dwarf cannon and red/gold mystic sets an idea posted here on tif? \ Y'know the events team could host a massive snowball fight while the snow is still here.
  15. Yes they are very fimiliar...as a matter of fact I have seen all of them on tip.it Or because they're common sense fixes that most people have thought of? That happens to include people on Tip.It. Heh, I recognised the updates too. Maybe Tip.it is just more influential than we thought?
  16. +1. Jagex is doing this right in two ways: 1. They are listening to players for suggestions instead of doing it themselves. 2. They are doing this step by step. If they just lump in more updates which they think will solve the problem but end up losing more players, it will be really bad for everyone.
  17. Yep. Ruby necklaces aren't exactly in high demand. Who wants to teleport to the Digsite anyway?
  18. I think it serves multiple purposes. It may be the case that because of the higher number of worlds, and larger maps, it may take more time. Also, it means that those with faster connections could take advantage over those with slower ones. It also keeps profits from going sky-high in some skills which require world hopping. Oh, and it hinders bots too. Some of these reasons are obsolete, but I'm worried that lag will occur if they completely remove it. However, I agree that 35 secs is a bit much. Maybe the best way to do this would be to reduce the countdown to about 10 seconds? I'm sure that would keep everyone happy while still keeping the lag-demon from hell at bay.
  19. Jagex is not wrong, they are doing it right. The implementation of QPs (And possibly Achievement Diaries) is a very good idea. Quests had nothing to do with trading, but that's the point. A bot/farmer/RWTer would not bother with something as pointless and time consuming as quests if all they are going to do is trade. I've said this too many times; don't flame what we don't entirely know about. Jagex is not perfect, the recent updates are living proof of that, but that does not mean that another update in the same field will be of the same quality. And, as explained by previous posters, a % restriction is ineffective for standard trade (Because RWTers can control who buys and sells), but it is fine in the GE because you can't completely control where the item/money is heading.
  20. There IS the case of players being on completely opposing ends of the combat triangle having a "complete" fight, but one player still loses regardless because of the advantage his opponent has. I'm completely stumped as to a reasonable solution to this; the only thing that limits it really would be the other measures I've considered having imposed. The best solution in this case would probably be to examine a player's history in the Wilderness. What did he bring to previous fights? Has he been in the Wilderness at all before? What kind of fights did he have, if he was (properly prepared? balanced? low or high wealth)? Even if THIS is ineffective, this method of gold transfer remains exclusively with high-level players who must first be able to wield the equipment that they are losing. The restriction on whether or not you can equip the item means that there can no longer be level 3s with a whip and set of dragon armor "wandering" into the wilderness and dying. If i understood right that means you can't bring 20k worth of items? :S so no decent armor or weps? or did you mean food/pots..which may i remind you p2p foods are decently priced plus tele tab and pots? which would exceed 20k plus this doesn't limit them from bringing any amount of armor/wep value which still allows the real world traders to transfer items :\ I like the idea of the creator of this post. Except rune bolts are kinda good for rangers to use and limiting them to 30 bolts :\ good ideas though hopefully Jagex will use some idea like this :P Scary thought huh? Thankfully, he means no more than 20k in any stackable item. In which case I think 1k is enough. We can't forbit cash in the wilderness, how would we get team capes? I think the 3k cash limit is an excellent idea as far as the wilderness goes. People can still buy things from general stores, team cape merchants, or that little pizzeria in the thieves' fortress. I get the horrible feeling that we've just gone full circle back into what Jagex has already done. The max 3K cash limit into the wilderness was the perfect update, it needs no tweaking. However, this idea will result in further unbalancing of the Pk triangle, with melee (sometimes I feel this is a recurring theme) coming out on the top. The thing is that RWTers can impersonate everything we can impersonate.
  21. +1. Why restrict what isn't happening? It's a bit like the pure ess problem here. Pure Ess almost destroyed autoers in this field, but now it's restricting what isn't happening.
  22. Jagex have admitted that their methods were crude and ended up lumping some players in with the RWTers. The point is not to complain about it, but to make some suggestions which will allow more legal trades and actions while still stopping RWTers. In fact, that's just about what they say in 'A word about our updates' on the main Runescape page. The future is in our hands. The people who want it reverted are just prolonging the continued presence of a crude and somewhat unfair (albeit necessary) update. Maybe we need a Hot Topic discussing potential solutions? If we hit on a really good one, we will send it in. Jagex has not failed, just succeeded badly.
  23. Heh. So doors are not the only magical devices which allow you to walk though walls. You just need to run into the wall fast enough. Hang on, are you still picking the knight's pocket?
  24. +1. Maybe your automatic loot to GE and split the price idea could be another form of LootShare? However, what would happen if the item wasn't sold after a certain period of time, say, 5 hours? Would the item then be sent to a random player, as is normal LootShare?
