  1. No, it's like giving the patient radiation treatment, while the cancer is still at a relatively early stage, but will cause the patient's hair to fall out. It's the right thing to do, will cause some sacrifices, but it's nothing a few cosmetic treatments won't fix. Unfortunately it's the cosmetic treatments which weren't very good. Not the initial treatment. Not the updates, the optimism. Hmm, ok. You're right there.

  3. Firstly, the price variation over time is not 3K, it's 5%. 3K (or more according to your qps) is just the amount that you can vary away from this price. And yes, they are working on a lending system, but many flaws have been pointed out with the whole idea of it returning is one of the participants logs out, so it isn't going to be like that.
  4. As other people have said, the opposite is happening. You are much more likely to get your gravestone blessed by a passing stranger than that same stranger picking up your stuff and selflessly giving it back to you before the update. Greed used to be a factor, and it normally severely outweighed common courtesy, unless it involved very low leveled items. Now, courtesy is the only factor, and most dignified people would bless a gravestone if they had the Prayer points to spare. It results in a friendlier atmosphere, no more arguments such as 'OMG give me my stuff back noob!', but at the expense of the reduced chance of your stuff disappearing, causing the demand for replacement items to drop, and ultimately prices for weapons and armour which would usually be dropped would fall. So, it is a bad idea to invest at the moment. Prices will continue to fall until people realise that barrows and similar weapon/armour rewarding activities are not profitable enough.
  5. And why do you have to immediately do the quest? It's not like your character can't survive without the cape for a while. I'd suggest you get a 99 skillcape, perhaps as a filler for the absence of your Quest cape for the time being.
  6. The BBC operates the universally-agreed best world news service on this planet. Not only that, but it's funded by our tax payer's money. In theory, it is the ' British people's channel'. There is absolutely no way they would host something which isn't 100% backed up and get away with it. I'm sorry to say this, but that's something no American news provider has ever shown any understanding of. You can offend us for many things, but the BBC, and NHS for that matter, are things which even non-patriotic people such as myself take much pride in. =D> Well said.
  7. Construction was advertised a lot, and there was a good reason for that: players had been wanting Player Owned Houses for a long time. It's the case with Summoning as well, emphasised by the fact that it was a project in RSC (You may have heard about the Life Rune?), which was put to one side because of server limitations as well as a whole host of other problems. But that's basic human mentality, promise something big but then retract it, and they will want it for a long time. I think they have every right to advertise big updates, it's all part of the fun of expectation. Teasers, hints, clues, it's an activity in itself to try to fit the pieces together. If you want to try to figure out hidden motives (and I'm sure there are: construction is yet again a good example, it was used to combat inflation by costing large amounts of money to be able to get anywhere in the skill, and thus remove money from the economy. There's a good Tip.it times article on the effects), wait until it comes out. It's always been the case with Jagex that the hints and spoilers are only the corner of the big picture, and what we know is insignificant compared to the rest of the skill.
  8. You ever seen a Duck Billed Platypus or a Beaver at work in the wild? Owned? Construction was severely hyped, but under the persona of carpentry. Hunter was hyped-ish, but not much, but I do agree that Slayer and Farming came quite quickly. Summoning may well economically counteract the instability cause by a sudden drop in production, caused by the elimination of bots, which is a good idea on Jagex's part. But Jagex has a thing with trying to hit several targets with one shot. Summoning will also help in combat (and most likely will aid in all three combat types), produce a more varied array of possible inventories for combat, while also helping in skills.
  9. Haha. Who knows...this could happen! haha LOL @ people who took it seriously COngradulations, the first person to realize it was a joke and it was something that Jagex would seriously do. Funny, isn't it. Your idea is ridiculous, but when you put it into the context of 'what Jagex would do', it sounds real and serious. Actually, no, it isn't funny, it's worrying. I think that account selling is going to be much easier to track than gold farming because of ip recognition software. You can tell if an ip switches quickly from country to country, whereas you can't track bots because they never changed location (or owner), and money/items just couldn't be tracked at all. In addition, it takes much longer to farm accounts (and thus higher risk).
  10. I think that looks the best color-blending wise. I would really like that skill cape if that were to be the colors. :) ~Rcty It looks tomuch like Fishing if you ask me. Anyway i was bored and made 3 myself : . There you go, this isn't a contest or anything, it's just fun guessing what it'll look like :). Edit : as you can see i also made it look like a Spirit Wolf. 1st and second one remind me of defence cape, and the last one is ok would go good with mystic. Im hoping for a all black cape, maybe black hood. Because im never getting 99 slayer for a black hood. Sorry, but I think that the capes and hoods are designed to be all different colours. The only way you're going to get a black hood is by getting 99 slayer.
  11. Awesome cape ideas here. I can't wait for the 4th achievement diary so that we can complete the logo and get the full picture.
  12. Nice one, but I doubt that you are the lowest leveled player to pull it off.
  13. I never knew they did in the first place. What's the point in selling broken barrows sets anyway?
  14. *standing ovation* =D> =D> well said, I second that opinion whole heartedly. 8-) I agree as well. =D> =D> =D> The trade restrictions aren't that bad anyway. If they increase this value to 50K for over 200 qp, then I will be happy with the entire update. (I know that my sig says that I don't have +200qp, but it's a sliding rule, and I will be happy with the value I get) At the moment, let's just sit back, watch the RWTers leave, and then we can get some constructive ideas in. Ixfd64, we don't need a lecture about what has happened, we already know that gifts, lending, monster drop sharing, private parties, PKing, and bank sales are heavily restricted at the moment. We need constructive ideas. Not history lessons. As far as I'm concerned, this game is irreparable under the current management. Maybe not for you, but I for one am not content to waste my life clicking on pixels without engaging my brain. The ability to do that in this game has been lost. Right, ok. Let's say that you're management. How can we solve the RWTing problem better then, whilst still engaging the player's brains?

  16. you can go on a german server, make your friend buy 6m armor (since you cant take money to the wildy) then go to bounty with u, kill him and u get the armor and get out, it's too risky though Waay to risky to be bothering with, I think. I'm afraid that for now your friend will just have to keep the d chain. However, there are going to be updates which will mean you can automatically put your loot on the GE, and when it sells, the money is split.
  17. Wouldn't that be a paradox or something? You're playing on a computer, which is controlling a virtual character, which is playing on a virtual computer, which is controlling a double-virtual character, playing on a double-virtual computer... HUH? Seriously, it's a bad idea. We can get away with the whole 'it's magic!' excuse, but this crosses the line.
  18. Exactly, it would be the start of the Gielinorian Apocalypse. Plus, it would be so unrealistic that it would be funny, as in stupid-funny.

its just an idea... if you really hate it so much come up with your own  like i said (err or probably said anyways) that, thats not the best idea but the current quest point system for 30k is seriously unfair to your non questers (something jagex for years has regarded as unnecessary to play) and gratz on your 200 qp if you are a quester now how does it feel to make your 30k trades? whats that like 2 or 3 trades from world 66 fast free laws Questing still isn't necessary, it's an advantage. That's always been the case, before and after the update. I agree though that 30Kgp/15m limit isn't really enough for an account with over 200qp. I think that 50Kgp/15m is more realistic.
  20. Well, it was to be expected. Even if they did allow for ftp, you can't get to 50qp anyway, so ftpers would still be left with a 3K limit. I think that once the RWTers have really left, give or take 3 months, Jagex should change the limit to start increasing from 1qp onwards. Oh, and also to make the upper limit to 50K if you have all qps, otherwise the increases between qps would be too small to be worth it for ftp.
  21. What?!? How did this happen? They had so many weeks to make the transition, what's wrong now? Maybe something crashed during updating, which screwed up the system?
  22. Although I agree that hacking for profit is impossible, unless you sell the account, the vast majority of cases are when the hacker just cleans out the account by dropping the items, or tried to get the account banned. There are things which can be removed now, such as Pure Essence and a few of the more annoying variety of random events, but this isn't one of the things which is now freestanding and pointless due to the unbalanced trade update.
  23. Nice set of updates there. 3 quests? I hope they aren't doing quantity over quality again. If they do them all well, woot! Summoning? Woot! Unbalanced trade removal? *shrugs*, I guess it had to be done. No more RWTers anyway! Woot!
  24. I would probably take door A, then try to request tools so that I can mine away at the walls, so I have better living space. I would write books, play an instrument (maybe learn more ones like the piano), and I could communicate by writing. Suicide does not appeal to me at all. I know that if I went into room B, I would pick up the gun, point it at my head, then fall to my knees wishing I had chosen door A. Hang on. If you chose door A, would it still keep open? You could live in two rooms, the button room and Room A. Of course, I would do something to cover up button B to prevent being trapped in the button room.
  25. Isn't that a bit of a horrible question? I'd want to die by heart attack, but only when I've said goodbye to all my family first.
