FireMaking Cape - What To Wear?
Something with gold in it. Gilded, gold trimmed, whatever. Just make sure it has gold bits in it. ...yellow works too. I'd suggest full gilded, yellow boots, yellow gloves, and some kind of amulet which contrasts in colour. A trimmed strength would be really nice. I don't like the idea of the lantern because it looks weird unless you wear other slayer stuff, I suggest gilded kiteshield. And a weapon? Umm... money standard? Something yellow or orange. Looking at other posts, pharoah's sceptre is a good idea. Putting it together, i'd say: Gilded Helm Gilded Plate Gilded Legs Gilded Kiteshield Strength Amulet (t) Gold Boots Gold Gloves Pharoah's Sceptre

Pking Mystery
Although I do agree that technically Bounty Hunter isn't in the 'Wilderness', this isn't a purposeful deception which is part of the 'master plan' behind the GE. This is just a typo.

"Jagex Endorses Satanism" ???
Everyone's comments are really funny that they are taking this seriously! Why the hell are we debating about this, it's a joke! Summoning is a word of many meanings, as many words are. We are referring to summoning as 'calling a creature to aid oneself'. Not bloody Devil summoning! Mind you, we did de-summon a demon once called Agrith-Naar...

Zamorak Stole Bug (Picture Added)
Not exactly an ideal combination of items, zamorak stole and guthan armour, but it is a bug, and all bugs need to be squished.

the hat and hair bug
That's what I thought, it looks intentional. It would look better if it was changed back.

Do we still need bankpins?
They can still sell it before 14 days claiming its their own actually 1 day to use recoverys. If you go onto recover a lost account, and say that someone else know your recovery Q's and you get everything right, then you can change them and it will take one day to come into effect. Been done to me, ( lost about 1mil to hacker..... ). Pc was down for 2 days, hacker changed it, and i lost my account until, many months later attempting to get it back from jagex. Edit:I forget about the topic. We need bank pins b/c there is a delay limit on them, and then in the real world hakcers, can be patient for the pin to deactivate, and then they can keep the account, have a drop party, or whatever they want to do with it. If that happened, you fail at keeping your recoveries secret or impossible to work out. Use proper recovery questions which only you know! Back on topic: why is there still a debate on this? Bank PINs have a massive purpose because hackers will drop your stuff if they realise they can't trade it! I can't see the argument against this.

what happened to the bots?
RS was going to die if bots became so numerous that players did need them. We were on the tipping point when Jagex put in the big update, so it was a sign that we almost didn't make it. Anyway, the economy isn't going to crash, but it will be slightly different. But that's not a bad thing. Prices for raw materials were too low and people have exploited that. Now, RS became a harder game which was what we needed. Alching isn't such a constant profit, neither is Nature crafting. It means that we have to work for our money.

Gold Farmer's Life
Hmm, weird isn't it? Jagex have the complete right to refuse refunds (I believe that their terms and conditions dissallow refunds even if the account is banned), so why don't they extend that to any situation? It's a weird system.

Mage Training Arena
Heh, as bad as I feel in saying this, I have to agree that you need to obey Jagex in this occasion. Missing warnings gives consequences. Don't break the rules to discover them.

Why does my character dance around monsters?
It's a flawed movement system which needs to have a re-do. I wouldn't actually mind if circling each other became part of the animation, ie you actually circled each other. Not the 'step forwards, step sideways, turn, step forwards, step sideways...' tango which seems to go on. It would be best if circling counts as 'engaged in combat', as then the problem will be solved, plus combat will look slightly more interesting.

We have too many messages. Try again later.
Hasn't Jagex's CS had a huge history of being useless? I've never used it because I didn't want to get into the routine of the dreaded auto-reply. Btw, Qeltar's example shows how badly connected the system is. A solution would be that mods could give permission to other players to send them a reply (which would be found in the mod's message centre) which consists of as many characters as the asking mod determines. CS is cut out, and the mods only hear from those who they want to hear.

Varrock "cleaner"
Dude, seriously.. just because it wasn't released recently doesn't mean it isn't related to Summoning. It has kind of been in the works for quite some time, you know.. a couple of years, actually. Wait.... what? Only Lunar_Drifter has the superior structural integrity required in order to have an argument with himself. Back on topic: It may be that the code for the cleaner is a disguised prototype for the code for a item-picker-upper, and that would be a great feature for Summoning. Can you imagine woodcutting and your familiar picks up the nest, and also takes out the item inside to give to you?

Summoning Obelisk, (right in front of us the whole time).
Heh, it may have something to do with summoning, but I wouldn't bet on it. Nobody knows what they were used for, and I would bet that the picture on the concept art is the summoning obelisk. As for the obelisk which is split in two, I don't think that the symbol is the life rune, but just in case, have a look at it when summoning has been released. You never know.

Gold Farmer's Life
Hi ^^ I am a maker is this thread. Here I just want to point out: A thief in a community does not mean that the whole community are thievies.. For instance, if you stole stuff from a convenience store, we cant say your whole family are thieves because this is just unfair to your family  . At least the guy there did not steal anything nor using any bots programs (he tried once but he has stopped after getting banned) And yea!! All Runescape items and accounts belong to Jagex. So we should not make any rants nor any opinions. Rather, it will be the way better to do nothing like a sheep and wait for Jagex come owning us =D> By the way, I posting thie thread did not mean to encourage the rwt but just found interest about the article. I dont really know that you guys have read similar stuff b4 so I am very sorry  . It's OK that you can post these things, because it isn't originally your article. I was just observing that the increase of the creation of these articles seem to be for the purpose of convincing people to want to get the update reverted. Sorry if I looked like I was pointing the finger too much. Could you explain further what you mean about the 'community of thieves'? I fail to follow the metaphor's links to what we're talking about. I'm not blaming anyone who didn't steal anything. :-s It's just that this guy was stealing Jagex's property and selling it. The use of bots or not doesn't make it any less of a crime. I don't think it's (strictly legally) any more of a crime, but hey. And to your next point, we can complain all we like, but because it's Jagex's accounts and Jagex's items, we can't force them to do anything. Just give convincing arguments and give opinions on what they are doing with their property. If we actually owned the accounts, we could actually force Jagex to change things, make updates, and everything else (given that a large enough portion of the gaming community supports), with probably dire consequences. It's actually a gift from Jagex that they are listening to those who they could completely ignore: the players.

Gold Farmer's Life
+1. I'm not actually pointing the finger at the maker of this thread, but I get the feeling that the sudden increase in 'The life of a Goldfarmer' threads are a last chance try at getting Jagex to revert back by laying on pity for the farmers. It's not going to happen unless someone invents a better solution in which RWTers are still disallowed but legitimate players are less restricted. These people are in an area where, although poverty is pretty bad, they have the fastest growing economy in the world and jobs are available. The point is that what these people are doing is stealing. All Runescape items and accounts belong to Jagex. That's why they have the ability to ban 'our' accounts without our consent, it would be a legal nightmare for everyone if we could claim actual ownership of accounts and items. Oh, and it is perfectly sensible to relate virtual objects as having the same significance as actual objects. Calling them 'pixels' is fine, but only if you call the real object 'atoms'. Even music is just 'sound waves'. Anyway, these items are being stolen and sold for pure profit in a black market. The point is that removing RWTing has helped even the RWTers by trying to convince them to stop taking part in an illegal activity, which is much more important than a game's rules.

The Anagrams translated. I guess they're both solved.
um... what's wrong with crabs? r u scared of them? do you have crab-phobia? :-s I think he was referring to pubic lice Not a fan of subtlety are you? Ah well. Anyway, I think these are good solutions. I can imagine using familiars for fishing in the case of 'Granite crab uses a net'. 'Hydra is angry, begone!' Now that fits perfectly, and sounds like a good caption for the Hydra. I can imagine that the Hydra's lair would have that written either on a sign or on a wall. Possibly in blood. With a skeleton underneath it with a finger halfway though writing the last 'e'.

Has Jagex Forced Prices up of Items that were Undervalued?
Ding ding ding! We have a winner. Exactly how it was. Why is he right? All skills, if you don't do every aspect of raising that skill, will cost money. If you don't craft nats yourself, and you don't mine the iron and coal to make steel bars yourself, you're not gonna make a profit if you superheat and sell on the ge. Experience costs money. Look at cooked vs. raw food. Isn't it cheaper to buy alrdy cooked? That's because the experience is added into the cost. If you buy raw food for more money, you're buying experience points! ~WSW~ Exactly. Experience has a value too, so an 'unprocessed' item will also include the cost of the potential experience it can provide. If it's the case that the experience itself is in higher demand than the actual finished product, you will make a loss. That's probably the biggest difference between the Gielinorian Economy and a real life economy. The potential experience is more highly valued than the effort put into processing, in most cases.

Price Check Pl0xors-An Extension to the Bank of RuneScape
I think that a section of the main page would be great. Or even an external downloadable program from the main site? It would be much more convenient than the bank. It would also be nice if they recorded past price histories, so you can get graphs and info for the best deals...

New croc bug?
You can attack them at any distance? That's the only problem I can see here. They are supposed to be able to walk on water, but that was it.

New Stats Page
It's nice, but I don't think we can afford squeezing in unnecessary numbers in there. Being able to see our total xp and levels and stuff again in a separate window instead of being a drop-down menu is nice, but don't repeat things like combat levels and quest points which other people have suggested. The question is, what will we do to fit in all the skills when we put in the skill after summoning, or the one after that? :-X It's not long before we have to resort to scrolling...

Pure Essence: What happened?
Alright, alright, it was at least partially tongue-in-cheek. :P I just find so few people understand simple economic principles like inputs/outputs, the monetary value of time and so forth. Fletching is probably THE most overrated skill in the entire game, because so many people go around saying it's a great way to make money -- heck, it's right at the top of Tip.It's guide to the skill. As you say, RCers have had a free ride for a long time. I don't think pure ess will stay above 150, but it's not going down to 80 again any time soon either. "Nature abhors a vacuum" as they say, and when any skill seems to be too easy a way to make money, people will adapt to "squeeze" the excess profits out of it. Frankly, considering how much money RC has always made, and how hard miners have always had things, I'd say this is a positive development. I agree, it is positive. It was long overdue that RCers needed a bit of a price change, the profits were simply too massive. I think that the lack of bots have in some way helped this, but with the existence of pure essence, I don't think there as many bots as there were for, say, cutting yews in the first place, so it isn't a big factor. This is just a natural progression, and eventually the "vacuum" was going to be filled. Fletching IS overrated, I agree, but I don't think it is going to be popular for much longer. The price of wood used in fletching in general is going up because it isn't being produced by bots, and the prices of bows is also going up as a result. Once people start seeing that the profits are so obviously low after you count the cost of natures (which coincidentally is going up because of essence prices are going up), it is going to be much less popular. Actually, following up that prediction, the price of natures will drop because of much lower demand, and it may be the case that Essence will drop as well, but will still remain higher than it was at the start.

Misconceptions About RWT
They also didn't want autoer software to reach a point where it was virtually undetectable. Yeah, that's the most important reason for their action against RWTers.

Pure Essence: What happened?
Why? Is this a MULTIPLAYER game or just a single player game on shared servers? And if Jagex wanted to force everyone to do everything themselves, why not admit that up front? Why? Because you make 100% profit. Oh, btw I don't think that fletching and wcing is everything in rs. There are many more things you can do that are multiplayer. The dynamic economy was one of the things that MANY players liked about this game. It's not the only thing in the game but trade is very important in an MMO. As for "100% profit", someone else covered that nicely. Remember that the saying "time is money" is just as true in RS as in the real world. I have something I call my "world's simplest RS economic IQ test". I just ask someone: "Do you think fletching bows is a great way to make money?" If they answer "yes", they fail the test. Qeltar, I respect you for what you've done, but don't start ego boosting, setting IQ tests and assuming that your predictions are completely infallible. They may be accurate, but don't push it. The term '100% profit' means that you aren't spending any money to get a profit, you are just getting money for the time taken in that activity. Being self sufficient (extracting raw materials, processing and selling without the middleman) is an example of '100% profit'. However, that doesn't mean that it's the best investment of your time, because the 100% profit of being self sufficient may not be as big as the 50% profit of taking part in a single skill, such as buying raw lobsters and cooking them, before selling (The 50% is just an example, I am not saying that this activity actually gives 50% profits!), because it takes less than half of your time. It's all about profits over time, not a percentage. I'd have to say that RuneCrafters will have to make do with what they've got. Getting experience and profits at the same time is a privilege amongst skills, not a right. Production of essence was so high beforehand that RCers have gotten used to low costs for essence, and high prices for the finished runes, resulting in exorbitant profits. Two options: mine your own essence if you're happy with the profits in that method, or do something which is more worth your time.

Account locked - Appeal accepted - Still locked
Weird. Maybe there's some kind of communication error? I think you should wait it out.

Misconceptions About RWT
Exactly. They've been limited to one account for getting the money in. It's much better than being able to make as many accounts as they like and then just putting the profits together. Ip addresses solve this problem. If the ip address changes location over a long distance in a short time, Jagex can track that. EDIT: To answer the original 'myths', 1. Actual real world trading sites are not related to item/account theft, I agree, but the fake ones are. And the fake sites work because they use the example of RWTing sites, and provide a reason for the 'customers' to enter in their details. Remove the RWTing sites = remove the fake sites. Oh, and they are related to credit card theft, but it's not the RWTers, it's the customers using stolen credit cards to buy gp. Refer to the DD article. 2. I agree with you that RWTing hasn't been stopped, but it's been severely limited, as other people have described. They can't use bots any more, and they can only do it on one account. In fact, it's now impossible to do it without a vary large element of trust involved. 3. That's not a misconception. That's fact. You never addressed your claim that it wasn't true. Oh, and it isn't a reason to let them continue doing it. It's like you should let a criminal steal from your neighbour's house because it keeps food on their table. The idea is to remove that option so they take up a non law-breaking path in life. RWTing is stealing and selling Jagex's property, it's illegal. That's a perfectly decent reason to stop it happening. 4. I guess you never read the DD article. Jagex was probably getting threats from the credit card companies to do something about RWTers or they would pull the plug on membership. The game is very much alive, and many undesirable parts of the game were removed. Staking was unfair because it involved deception for personal gain, pures simply took advantage of the combat system and ended up being the only way to be successful. Bots were, well, bots. They were killing the economy, and became harder and harder to detect. It wasn't long before an invisible bot came along. What Jagex didn't want was for Runescape to start becoming a game in which RWTing was easy and commonplace, which as far as my experience goes, is the case for games like WoW.
