  1. I don't like this idea because I can see some prayer books being overpowered/underpowered, throwing the idea of balance among the gods out of the window. To be honest, I like the idea of varying the prayer skill according to which god you choose, but I don't think that the prayers themselves should be changed.
  2. I think at the moment it's going to be December the 1st, but I might be wrong. Good to see that the 'Tip Pic' is still in mostly working order anyway, well done N_odie!
  3. I think that this updates will finally give Jagex an excuse to actually focus on these so-called 'functionality' updates which I think everyone knows (including Jagex) they have been neglecting. Let's face it, the most common one line excuse for not playing from the start is 'The graphics are terrible'. When this update comes, the graphics will no longer be 'terrible' for a very long time, they'll be 'OK' or 'quite good' in the online games market. That gives a window of opportunity to Jagex to forget about 'Flash' updates and focus on the more important 'functionality' updates. I think this is a blessing in disguise as a different blessing.
  4. I don't think that they can get rid of wtf, it's an internet thing which never goes away. But 'effing' is more explicit and can't really be tolerated. I don't think it's immature kids that Jagex doesn't like, it's the immature players in general which they don't like, and I bet a lot of players would agree.
  5. I can see that happening. [theoretical headline]Child dies from Cocaine energy drink: National calls for re-branding[/theoretical headline] [theoretical headline]Cocaine energy drink: Is your child safe?[/theoretical headline] And so on.
  6. You've made one of the major fallacies here. Levels do not equate to maturity, they only correlate very loosely. The reason for this is that socialising and acting mature doesn't give you skill levels. The reason why the less mature people limit themselves to f2p is that they don't take the game seriously enough to want to do something about it that will affect them in real life (although when it comes to £3.20, it's more psychological than financial, and less mature people will think this way). The community in p2p, generally, is quite good. It's not bad enough to need something as drastic as that applied to it which will barely change anything and annoy the skillers.
  7. I don't agree that they should drop anything that you get from slayer (like whips). Even though you old pkers used them, they had to get it from those slayers. Making slayer drops just appear like that would be bad... Not if they are a 1 in 2000 chance of dropping. No, seriously, don't do that. I've got an idea. Revenants can pick up items off the floor and wield/use them if they're combat related and match the revenant's chosen corner of the triangle. Hmm, that that would take pages of coding... oh well. These are good ideas anyway!
  8. Bull elephants giving you a hard time? I'm amazed that you could actually name a product Cocaine. I mean, it sells, but I would have thought that some higher power would oppose the name. I've never heard of that drink here in the UK, but I'm waiting for them to release Cocaine Lite.
  9. Sure. I can do these things in like, 4 minutes. Okay, don't challenge me on that, but it's not hard.
  10. Agreed, the title is misleading and doesn't refer correctly to the argument at hand.
  11. We only saved them from their evil monarchies, the Nazi's and the Soviet's in that order, you know, nothing big. I think you'll find that the soviets saved us from the Nazi's and when the hell did America save us from our evil monarchies? I always thought Australia was full of criminals and America was full of fat people, Britain should of never given USA and Australia the right to rule themselves. You would make a fine diplomat. [/sarcasm]
  12. Gah, this has been down here for too long. I'm afraid I'm forced to BUMP
  13. ^ This. The truth is, RWT is probably beneficial to the game by itself. Players who enjoy earning money through grinding can do so and have an outlet for their extra money, that will benefit them in real life. Players who contribute more in the real world, and thus have less leisure time to play this game, will still be able to enjoy it to some extent. The damage caused by "unfair advantages" is more or less irrelevant. People who have more leisure time in real life have an indisputable advantage over those who work 48 hours a week, feed a family of 5, and spend the majority of their remaining time on house care. However, RWT also encourages other behavior. Macros, while contributing to the economy, detracts from the work of others by stopping them from being able to earn what they SHOULD earn for enduring boring tasks. Wood cutters deserve a certain amount of money for their logs because no one else is willing to do it. Macros take away from this. Also, criminal behavior in real life to pay for the membership is encouraged, as shown by the credit card fraud problems. No, just no. You have to realise that this is where sweatshops begin. Suddenly people don't have any choice but to play a game to feed their family, and then the real life value of a RS coin starts to plummet as more and more people get sucked in and make more and more bots. Not only that, inflation sets in and people want more RS gold for the same amount. The grip gets tighter and tighter and ruins their lives. I think that despite Jagex's claims about 'unfair advantages', that wasn't the problem for them. The credit card fraud would shut down the game completely, and then RWTers don't get their income and the legitimate players don't get their game and Jagex goes down the pan. With RWTing, everybody loses.
  14. I've always interpreted 'Detail Mode' as is the same with Low and High detail, surely they would have mentioned that it would be put on dedicated worlds? They wouldn't have kept that bit of information back is they were going to, and I think that they think that the term 'Detail Mode' was self-evident. Actually, I know they wouldn't do that. If they did that then they'd have to make new worlds for all of the activities like Bounty Hunter and Fist of Guthix, LootShare worlds, not to mention the non-compulsory themed worlds. And those activities break down if players on different details couldn't interact with each other.
  15. Will H replied to Wallettheif's topic in Rants
Wow, I didn't think that that was possible.
  16. No thanks, this is being just plain lazy.
  17. So far it's good, but we need more details. How does this armour 'signing in' system work? How does it stop RWTers?
  18. Wow, of all of the places, I would not have thought that Australia would beat America. Thing is with America is that it's so populated that it would take a lot of fat people to boost it up/down by 1%, so America can't really move about without serious effort. Australia however has such a low relative population that it wouldn't take much effort to jump about the rankings. With the UK, we could so easily beat both of you if you gave us a few months. EDIT: I just realised that I made a really sick pun in there. Oh well.
  19. As many people have said before, there is no such thing as a major perfect update (but may be subject to change), but the ones that are perfect are often so small and simple in nature that there isn't enough room to make a mistake. But, I don't think that the fact that a game excludes lower levels is a reason why an update is no longer 'perfect', because the game is based on the idea of developing characters. Castle Wars: The game is perfect, but the rewards are terrible and useless apart from gold armour as a status symbol which require a lot of tickets. Even then, it's useless in combat for anyone who played enough to get the required tickets. The Whip: Overpowered to the point that any player who wishes to succeed in combat has to get one, and then there's no variety. The GE: Potentially perfect, but the incorrect prices and Jagex's inability to consult players on prices of new/expensive items have ripped it to shreds. The only thing that I could label as major and perfect is graphical updates, especially the big one coming in about two weeks time.
  20. No, I couldn't. I would never want to try, because there would be nobody that your achievements could be comparable to.
  21. Why are most of your posts made as statements when you clearly have no proof either way..? I was posting my thoughts, not a statement. He was referring to the first part: 'They'll be redesigning their entire site'. That was a statement. If you give us proof about Jagex announcing an update to the entire website, then we'll be happy and I'll shut up.
  22. I can only see two factors that would be feasible in the formula. 1. Quest Points. 2. Total Level. They're the only factors that get difficult to raise to a really high amount and really determine the bots from the players. I do want to see the trade limits increase for every quest point and every level, I don't like the max cap at 200 quest points at 30K/15 mins as much as a lot of people here. Let me try to think of a formula: T = Trade Limit. Q = Quest Points P = Maximum possible quest points L = Total Level S = Maximum possible total level If x < 3,000, T = 3,000. If x > 3,000, T = x. x = (30,000(Q/P) + 50,000)(L/S) The first part of the formula is all about the minimum 3K limit, no change. The last part is the important bit. If you have no quest points but maxed total level, your limit is 50K. If you then get all quest points, it gets boosted to 80K. The value of each individual quest point is also determined by total level. Sibmaster, this is basically your idea but Quest Points are put into the equation, contributing to 30K of the total value.
  23. It's a good thought, and I would actually kick you, Killy, if that happens.
  24. I'm sure that exactly the same thing would happen as what happened when the dragon hatchet came out. It would be incredibly overpriced for its benefits. I can see links to the Red Axe (Not too subtle is it?) series, but they won't release it without guarding it with some kind of ridiculously powerful boss monster which can only be attacked with pickaxes or something.
  25. Firstly, spellcheck is your friend. Secondly, don't call us perverts, the joke's come and gone and I don't think that we're low enough to repeat it. Thirdly, don't use freeware antivirus/spyware programs, they don't work even if everybody else claims it does. Get a proper one which you pay for.
