  1. Skillcapes are not supposed to be functional in this way, just a decorative ego boost. However they had to give it some decent combat stats because it wouldn't make sense otherwise. The danger of adding unique abilities is that some bonuses will always be far more powerful than others, balancing it would be next to impossible with this many skills.
  2. One of the main philosophies behind the design of the game: If you don't train the skills, you don't get the extra features which come with that skill. Face it, Runescape is not designed for pures.
  3. This is a classic example of how history gets warped to such a great extent that when we finally discover the truth, we almost refuse to believe it. Sheesh, everything we know is wrong.
  4. Wow, alternate planes in the past which affect the future? Runescape would be so great if they did that. I bet that this has never before been done by an MMORPG.
  5. Personally, I'm against the death penalty. I'm not saying that the people don't deserve death, they probably do deserve it, it's just that a far better punishment would be to keep them alive and suffer the misery and consequences of their actions for the rest of their lives. Think of it as 'Death by Life'. With the death penalty, it leaves too much chance that the experience is too light for the crime. Nobody knows with proof and certainty what happens after death, it's like giving the criminal the 'mystery box', an inappropriate course of action in a time where the idea is to be sure of the criminals punishment. Anyways, how can anyone work out that for each death penalty carried out, 8 lives are saved? How can you work out that 8 people were not murdered?
  6. I don't think that weight is important enough to do this. It doesn't need to be viewable in combat because you shouldn't be long-distance running. However, I would like to see some 'advanced' stats, referring to run energy depletion/regeneration per minute. Throw in other info like prayer depletion per minute, max hit using current equipment, estimated number of kills per hour, average hit using current equipment, distance left to run before your energy runs out. Stuff like that. Might help anyone who wants to be economical with their training.
  7. I think it will depend on what kind of legitimate lending market emerges. If people do turn out to be willing to rent GodSwords etc. within the trade limits, nobody would want to get involved with a black market when there is a legitimate market available anyway. People are willing to throw away a lot of gps for nothing instead of throwing away real cash for nothing. You don't even get to keep the item. However, I doubt that this will happen because the trade restrictions are still to strict. Weirdly, we've ended up with a situation where loosening the trade limits a bit would limit RWTing.
  8. Looks like a neglected this thread a bit, I'm having difficulty getting regular access to a computer at the moment. Revival post time! That made me lol. I think that this idea really is 'made of win' as well. Sib, I really appreciate your extended support in this thread. Please find stuff to criticise!
  9. I think that the only useful update left now on this thread is item locking/unlocking. That way not only will our banks be organised but will also it will stay organised!
  10. Yes, this is technically possible, as the position of the lent item is only updated every minute. It isn't a bug, it's sorta like an accidental feature. It isn't possible to actually 'duplicate' it though.
  11. It's impossible to filter underage kids who want to appear over 13 (that being most of them) and kids who are actually over 13. The Internet is a free database of knowledge, and you don't have to be over 13 to understand how to google any question thrown at you. Putting that aside, you can't convince a child to press the 'child' button when they could just as easily be tempted by the juicier 'teen' or 'mature' buttons placed next to it. And anyway, I can almost guarantee an emergent culture which shuns all use of 'child' level censor and dislikes use of the 'teen' level censor. Not only that, but communication may be difficult between players at different censor levels. A sentence rated 'mature' when said to a player at 'teen' level would be starred out. Therefore the 'mature' player would have to use a 'teen' rated sentence in order to communicate, destroying to purpose of using the 'mature' rating. Same goes if you replace 'mature' with 'teen' and 'teen' with 'child'. Finally, believe it or not, most people don't want to hear people swearing.
  12. Exactly. It's a ranger's nightmare, I know, but ranging is supposed to be limited in this way.
  13. Rangers and Mages are on the naughty list ? :ohnoes: Yes, you've been verrrrry bad. Go alch in a corner or something. OT: I think yes to Super Ranging potion, but no to Super Magic potion, because level in the two skills function in different ways. With ranging, much like melee, you can only use more powerful weapons/armour with base skill levels. Boosts just allow you to use existing weapons more effectively. However, with magic, your arsenal depends on your boost value, not your base value. For example, even if you pot yourself up to the right level, you can't wield a crystal bow with ranging 67. However, you could pot yourself up and cast ice barrage at level 90. The super ranging potion would be fine, but the super magic potion would be too over powered.
  14. No thanks, it was supposed to be free item lending, and I would prefer it that way.
  15. US-based? are they actually stupid? Yes, yes they are.
  16. Erm, no. You'll end up like the South Park picture posted earlier (possibly the best SP episode ever made?).
  17. Lol, head shrinking ftw. Nice one Jagex.
  18. Harpy bug Lanterns aren't light sources, even though they look it. I suggest that the light source should also appear hanging from your belt, but candles must be held in the weapon slot instead of the new 'light source' slot.
  19. I'm convinced that it does work to an extent, because I have a far better time at Cockroaches with it on, every time. However, with some monsters I think that the benefits may not be a great and as worth it than others.
  20. You call the item, as it is viewed in your inventory, a coin. You call their value, as it is viewed in the balance bar in a trade window, one gold piece (aka 1 gp). No need to change it, they've already got it right.
  21. QC worlds, as others have said, are for herding the muted players so it's less likely for confusing moments where non-muted people try to have a conversation with someone who can only say things like 'Yes', 'No' and 'I like your item'.
  22. Have you told your doctor about your father's plan? I think some professional advice on whether this is a good idea or not would help vastly and might influence your father more if it is a bad idea, and if it's a good idea, then maybe you should try it for a a few weeks?
  23. Even if the ideas mentioned here aren't used (In that case, Jagex has found some better ones), the sheer fact that this thread ran over 200 pages on the original RS fansite shows that players have clearly expressed an opinion on an update they want, and Jagex has (finally) responded. I reckon that we have certainly contributed to Jagex's move, even if our specific ideas aren't applied.
  24. Support. The Grand Exchange website has some pretty useless features in there, but this is one which can be changed to become useful.
  25. #-o I might try to make you an inventory icon of that in the future, but I don't have access to MS Paint at the moment. It will have the awesome animated flowing look of the fire cape, but you can see the colours of the team cape under the lava. It's important that team capes of the same number, even if combined with different capes, must appear similar, but also characteristic elements of the other cape must also be visible. For example, the Zamorak cloak has it's distinctive shape and Zamorak insignia. The obsidian has it's 'shimmering' look with the red trim, and so on. It might work, but I'm concerned about giving team capes a boost right now, not attractors.
