  1. Why would anyone want to restrict themselves when they don't have to? I think that the monsters will remain the same, revenants and all. It's just that areas for combat level difference will be established all over the map, and there will probably be more multi-combat areas.
  2. Wow, I'm guessing they released this because it's half-way through the month, it's like a semi-BTS. And I'm more excited about this than most BTS's I've seen! To be honest, this might actually properly replace and maybe even improve Wilderness PKing. Scary thought huh? You didn't seriously think Jagex is that smart? And there are no pures which can self-sustain, as it is certainly impossible to get your WC to 70 and go cut yews (and even easier for members)? Now that we're here... deny that this will be P2P-only, everyone. :) They won't be p2p only, every wilderness replacement update has almost fully included f2p. I love the phrase 'Leave no stone unturned', that could be a good title of the EPIC quest. Stone of Jas, here we come...

That's interesting about the hypothalamus, but your brain doesn't establish what gender you are, it's whatever equipment you got down below when you were born, whether fully functional or not. Things like breasts and body shape are just useful indicators, but they're not vital. I'm a bit confused with your analogy though, it's saying that being male is like not having legs and being female is like having them, which can't be right. Men and women are just two equal halves. The only time that I think that you should be able to choose your true gender is if you are a hermaphrodite. I am not against surgery if it is for the purpose of solving a psychological problem (if it works, do it), but I would not refer a TS 'originally born a man' as a woman.
  4. The pirates? I'm pretty sure they do love gold and treasure, but I think you mean Simon Templeton, by the Agility Pyramid. No, he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who looks into magical items, just historical stuff that happens to be gold. But who knows?
  5. You could farm some yourself in the meantime. I sometimes use baskets o' strawb's for monsters that infrequently hit me, but not very often. They're nice, but only when you don't have inventory and speed issues.
  6. God to me is the source of all the universe's laws and natures, how they interact, and ultimately how they create the beauty that is the world we live in. God is atoms, God is light, God is 1, God is energy, God is me.
  7. Can someone explain to me why the US had to get involved? Shouldn't the UK be a more likely candidate for intervention?
  8. My GSCEs arrive on the 21st. Gah, hurry up. Ok, explain what you do know and I'll elaborate/correct/generally enlighten you.
  9. Can we put this into Sterling, not Dollars, since that's the form it's going to be spent in (not only that, but some people are getting £ and $ confused!). Here's something we can use: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics/london_2012/4025027.stm It's a more complex overview on the costs and the uses of the buildings after the games. I think that there's some things which can't be solved by just throwing money at it, patience and education is a lot more valuable tool for dealing with 3rd world poverty. Just because large parts of humanity is suffering doesn't mean that we mustn't celebrate it, if cancelling it and spending it on removing the suffering will barely help anyway. Although I must admit that London wasn't a good idea, we aren't in a position where we can spend that money without repercussions, and we don't need to host it. At least placing it in China helped a nation which did have problems, and yet had enough money to easily afford the Olympics. EDIT: Oh wow, I love Mock the Week, I hadn't seen that one, thankyou! :)
  10. Heh, one of the best cliffhangers so far. As far as I am aware, no multi-part story line has yet been closed. I wonder if it will ever be possible to repair Yu'Biusk?

...or just change it to something you (svk) will remember after college? Nobody else needs to be involved.
  12. Will H replied to svk's topic in Help and Advice
Exactly what I think. Ask yourself these questions: why do you have to destroy your character? Can't you just not play during the college period? If you never play again, so what? If you find time to play again, why restrict yourself when you make that decision? Don't treat yourself like someone who is addicted, you have correctly organised your priorities in life, so you aren't addicted to the game. If you come back years later, you might get plenty of wonderful surprises. Runescape, unlike drawings in childhood, evolves.
  13. Yeah it was. But these might still be concepts, not an absolute indication of release.
  14. Wow, that was a nice read. I agree with you entirely, it wasn't just limited to PvP combat. These people should let others train their skills however they want. After all, it's the decision of the player, not of others.
  15. You can also type, and those two together are the only thing you could do on a standard PC. If you got a microphone, great, but it's just a better and slightly more complex way to type. If you got a mind control device, you are awesome, but it would still actually just be a better and more complex way to type and click.
  16. I like Slayer Training, but the Ahrim one is really good.
  17. Any updates on progress? It's sad to see a thread ignored on page 2.
  18. [hide=] Didn't know that, but a solution is easy to make: Make staking specific world(s) so that players can only stake on that world - they still have to go into an isolated room, with no communications and they are then set-up againts someone randomly againts someone else who is in that world. I know it's not ideal, but surely it's better than the situation at the moment? Stakers would just have to "max-out" without going over to the next group, it would just mean more tactical leveling needed. It would not be like FOG, with level 130+'s fighting people 100 level's lower than them. Yes, within each individual level group the top end of the barrior would be the superior - Just like in Bounty Hunter. Will update the original suggestion about the worlds. Thanks for the feedback :) [/hide] You could do it so the player can specify from a list the distance from their own combat level they will fight with. (I'm taking inspiration from the Wilderness levels) But to catch out people who will lower their range in order to RWT, the range minimum will be 20. That way, you can take risks (and get the reward of flighting a much lower level who took the same risk) or play it safe, without making pairing RWTers too likely. I like this idea, it is one of the few that isn't destroyed by anti-RWTing problems!
  19. I suggest talking with whoever controls this in your school that as an underweight person, it would be wise for you to be allowed to receive a higher calorie intake as you intend to increase your weight to healthy levels. And I don't think that this person is just 'The Government', there has to be someone in your school who actually regulates these things. Just giving a flatline limit to everyone is poor planning. Also, I suggest a method other than sugar to keep you awake in school. Like sleeping longer or getting more carbohydrates. I'm not going to judge the US government because it has no relevance to me, but I can suggest! :
  20. Yeah, it's the Stone of Jas. The conversation clearly says the wizards called it the eye of Saradomin. The wizards of the tower were Saradominist, and anything that is attributed with creation they would obviously put Saradomin's name on because they believe Saradomin created runescape, when it was in fact the elder gods that created the plane of Glienor, and Guthix who shaped the world from the Stone of Jas. Although, to be fair, I bet many gods (and their followers) before Saradomin have claimed ownership and creation of said artefact, not only the mysterious Jas. We don't even have proof if Jas truly owned or created it. With something this powerful, I bet every god with the knowledge of its existence has claimed it as their own.
  21. That was me... hehehe... Still have yet to play the game so no wonder. As Sarge1010 said, it could be the Stone of Jas. The reason why it is now known as the Eye of Saradomin is simply because the old wizard's tower was run by saradominists. Agreed, Saradominists frequently try to place their mark on something which another god has done, Creation etc. This is very interesting, I was pretty sure that The Great Orb Project was too a big an exercise for something like the power of differently coloured orbs, I'm pretty sure that wizards are smarter than goblins.
  22. A good feeling that you've helped contribute to the advancement of the human race. : And it some cases, like the program mentioned above, cash rewards. If your computer is lucky enough to produce, say a folding protein which was vital in the research into curing cancer, your name will be remembered by a hell of a lot of people. And you didn't do any of the work, either.
  23. I fail to see how 4chan managed to slip into the equation, but portal related; [hide=][/hide] Now do it, science, I want to see the world collapse onto one spot. Even if only to prove that we can do it. 'And the science gets done, and we make a neat gun, for the people who are Still Alive...' Yeah, that would be a great universe destroying invention. Back to invisibility, I can almost guarantee that the US army will try to get exclusive access to it when it's properly invented, but because it's not developed in the US, I doubt they'll get it. Obviously it's not very good at the moment, if they've made any significant progress at all, so we'll have to wait for a few decades and see.
  24. Not quite true either. Had it actually generated extra essence for me to craft, I would always have had an even amount of runes because I craft (currently) 2 earth runes for each essence I use. I had quite a few times where I ended up with an uneven amount of essence. I forgot to mention, this doesn't happen for every single essence you work with, it happens infrequently by chance. I was talking about what happens if the ring takes effect on an essence in the process of crafting. So sometimes it might never happen, sometimes it will.
