  1. Good idea. I'll add it to the first post.
  2. The graphics will be out by then, not they'll come out during that period of time The thread starter said they're being "debuted" at E3. Debut: - 1. A first public appearance, as of a performer. Also considering companies have rarely, if ever, shown existing designs at E3, but upcoming games, expansion packs, updates, etc, not after they've already been released. Agreed, but the question still remains. Could you call July 14 "early July"? The furthest I'd call early July is July 7.
  3. Rofl, even with 400 people wanting tea at exactly the same time, (Imagines legions of mugs being filled with tea in factories, flowing into Jagex Towers) it wouldn't be that expensive. Jagex has a lot of things that it has to spend on. Maintaining and upgrading so many servers, 24 hours a day in many parts of the globe isn't a cheap and easy task.
  4. Have you seen a Steel Titan? How can you call that 'awful in combat'? Summoning is awful in combat at low levels, as it should be. At higher levels, it can be highly decisive.
  5. I'd choose wings, even if they are sometimes inconvenient. I'm thinking Phoenix.
  6. I don't think his theory proves anything. There's plenty of intelligent and stupid Theists, as much as there are plenty of intelligent and stupid Athists. If believing in God and being intelligent puts you in the less populated set, so what? It doesn't make you any less intelligent, neither does it challenge your beliefs.
  7. The skulled idea is good. Either that, or make it so that players don't auto-retaliate revenants, even if they have it on. They have to physically click on them to hit them back. Once that happens, slap on a skull. But then when you eat food or cast a spell without autocast, for example, you gotta click on the Rev again. That's a disadvantage. Gah, didn't think of that. Maybe they could code it so that you do auto-retaliate if you are skulled, but you don't if you aren't skulled? I mean, once you are, there's no further disadvantage in attacking the revenant again.
  8. No thanks, I like where the GE is right now (Edgeville fairy ring ftw). However, I don't think it would be a problem if they started to move some things further apart. Everything in Misthalin, Asgarnia and Kandarin is way too close (The middle of the map). It should be more like Karamja, Morytania and the Elven Lands, which are much more spread out and it actually takes effort to travel to places like Burgh de Rott.
  9. I would never assume that nobody can see the password, it's extremely foolish to enter in your Runescape password anywhere else but runescape.com or funorb.com. I don't think you can call them scam sites since they do not require you to enter your RS password. You're just asking for it if you do.
  10. The skulled idea is good. Either that, or make it so that players don't auto-retaliate revenants, even if they have it on. They have to physically click on them to hit them back. Once that happens, slap on a skull.
  11. Yes, because they're made from a member's object (the cape that isn't the team cape). There isn't any cape in f2p that provides any stat boost over the team cape, so there would be no need to combine them.
  12. *facepalm* New players are no less immature than existing ones.
  13. Yes, very much so. I'm siding with Sinn Féin on this one. Ok fair enough(we can't confirm or denie that part). Since you read/know the treaty can you list out ALL the GOOD and then ALL the BAD stuff in the treaty. Yes, yes, please do. This thread may actually get somewhere if someone just tries to simplify the Treaty and breaks it down, because our government and the EU seems to have conveniently neglected it.
  14. Please, I want to know what people think of my idea! Bump!
  15. I still don't get why you didn't hit the ignore button from the start if it annoyed you so much. The word noob can't be censored because it's not personally insulting, but I do agree that people who overuse it show themselves as very immature. People will adapt to other non-insulting words if it gets censored and stick on the same meaning. Did he seriously use zeros instead of 'o's all the time? It shows them up as being even more immature.
  16. I'm 90% sure that you have to be 18 to get into E3 I'm 100% sure the general public cannot enter anymore. Sure there are games that will be shown off, that have better graphics than Runescape. But there are always smaller little projects that groups display at E3, like budget games for services such as XBLA or WiiWare. Its not like Runescape will be the worst (graphics wise.) Well, it is the most advanced Java powered game and probably the most accessible MMORPG out there. With the new graphics, I can see many people being very impressed about what Jagex has achieved. I think that Jagex just wants to finally get rid of the idea in the gaming community that RuneScape's graphics are so poor that it's not worth its time. As long as they present it well, this would be a potentially great move to formally contend with MMORPGs like WoW.
  17. No, the most we should have is be able to choose which hand we have the weapon/shield in (ie left handed characters). Dual wielding is just too powerful.
  18. I don't get what you're trying to say. I'm not going to flame you because I've probably taken the wrong message here. Are you saying that you would like the game to be shut down so you can't play it? How does that make any sense?
  19. I actually started off in the RSOF purely because of it's officialness, and tried to bear it for as long as possible because it was the only place where Jagex participated actively, so I felt like I was potentially affecting the game that I loved. Of course, I wasn't really, but I liked to think I was. Before then, I'd never taken part in forums, so I didn't realise how immature it was in comparison to other RS related forums out there. I then started looking around the Web for fansites for things like Skill advice and Quest hints, and I settled on RuneHQ and Tip.It. I liked tip.it more, but there were some things that RuneHQ offered that tip.it didn't. It took me about a year to start noticing that tip.it forums could be a much worthier substitute for the RSOF, and I never tried RuneHQ forums because I liked the tip.it site better.
  20. Because it's a whole new type, it's not the internet. Developed by different people. Still developed by CERN, apparently. And it does the same job (as far as I'm aware), but faster. That doesn't really warrant a name change.
  21. What I don't get is why they didn't allow a simplified version of this 'Treaty' so the public can understand and support/oppose it. It sounds like they don't want us to be in the know and that's why so many of the public don't want to support it. It's like signing a contract blindfolded. Even worse is the fact that we're not allowed a referendum so we're forced to sign a contract blindfolded. Seriously, does this Lisbon treaty have something to hide? If yes, simplify it so the public knows about it like they should. Of no, simplify it so the public is aware that it has nothing to hide!
  22. Can someone explain what this 'Grid' supplies over the Internet in simpler terms? EDIT: Oh right, It's faster. Whoop di doo. Why do they need to rename it?
  23. I am 99.99999% sure that is a lie.
  24. I'll try to explain how that happens: Think of the coding of character animations in this way: There's two separate bits which are used to construct the animation. The first part is the character. Taking the example of the Home Teleport animation, your character holds out it's hand, crouches and turns in a circle before sitting down using it's flexible joints which are modelled and applied to the generic character parts (torso, head, upper arms, lower arms, hands, upper legs, lower legs, feet, cape). Because they apply to the generic character and don't actually specify the usage of certain equipment, almost all equipment will apply to all animations. The second part is the props. Again, taking the home teleport animation, that's the stick, the circle on the ground, and the little blue book, but they could be anything that isn't the character. They appear at the same time as the character and move in sync with the character's movements, giving the appearance that the character is interacting with them, but is actually a separate animation. Now, these glitches happen when only one of these animations (usually the props) are interfered with and instead display the new 'prop' animation, like a snowball splat. But, because the character isn't affected by this new introduced animation, it continues to act out the first one, without the props appearing. With the easter egg ring, the character animation is interfered with, but the props aren't. So the props move on their own but the character remains an egg. So, for every animation, two possible glitches can be produced: Interfere with the character (easter ring), or interfere with the props (snowball). Both with amusing results.
  25. I don't know about you, but I frequently see some shoddy areas in the game where attempts to make ground squares gradually shift from one colour to another, for example the area outside of Al-Kharid Scorpion mine. And I think 'God that's bad graphics', and I've been thinking that for several years. I ignore, but I remember. It's human nature to remember the negative things and forget the good things, this topic is proof. I would consider not ever being reminded about Runescape's graphical quality than hearing every so often in my head 'This game has bad graphics, why are you here?' a vast improvement. This isn't at all about eye-candy. This is all about clearing out the eye-sores.
