The ore is too impure and you fail to refine it
Sorry, it won't work. It will be too easy for high leveled smiths.

Cat ears! :3
You wouldn't exactly find me wearing them, but I guess it floats someone's boat, so what the hell.

Hmmm, Bandos Boots fubared? Boots discussion
they wont, bandos boots is just that, a copy or similar item to what bandos wore. however, dragon boots are made of dragon metal. bandos armor however is just his armor, not a metal type. this can be concluded through examine of both boots and the fact that bandos plate will allow for arrow accumulation for people to expect it to have a strength bonus is natural, but flawed. sure, climbing boots have str bonus but thats a special quest related item, specifically for climbing certain things(which are? i cannot remmeber). and yes i do think dragon would just be how climbing boots were to rune boots when they finally got the +2 str bonus, a cheap alternative. but in this case the +1 def really probably would have a much less signifcant factor then the rune boots vs climbing boots. I agree that we shouldn't really be treating Bandos Armour as a metal grade. The chart in the first post is slightly misleading. However, the inconsistency here is that the rest of the Bandos armour provides strength bonuses. Plenty of people wear armoured boots (I know that they did wear them before they got the strength bonus upgrade, but they wear them much more because of the strength improvement) to get a nice little strength bonus as an addition to their armour set, so why is it that a strength focusing portion of a strength focused armour set gets no strength bonus whatsoever? The inconsistency is massive. A +3 or +4 str bonus would make much more sense. when considering the fact that the rest of the set gave a str bonus, we must consider that a tasset is +2 str and nearly 3times if not more then 3times the defensive stats. in all actuality, it should have +1 str bonus if you had asked me in fairness But the thing is that boots in high leveled armour are supposed to provide strength bonuses. Bandos armour is high leveled armour, so why doesn't the boots have strength bonuses?

The usages of Mixes?
Nice find. I never knew that you could make a 'zamorak mix', they must be quite useful. Hang on, there is a problem here. The '12 hp per potion' claim is not entirely correct: Judging by the nature of potions, this value probably depends on your HP level. So, you can only get the desired '12 hp per potion' if you have a high hp level. If you have a low hp level, you will only get a measly 6 hp per potion. However, if this value is actually random, it's worse. You can't really predict if the potion will really be that efficient. Can anybody do some tests to see the actual nature of Barbarian Mixes?

Marijuana, Is It Actually Bad?
Aside from the fact that a drug overdose is next to impossible with weed, there will always be irresponsible people who abuse every activity in this world. Take video games, for example. If certain irresponsible teens waste their lives away to video games, should we ban video games? What about coffee? Many teens and adults enjoy coffee responsibly, yet there are always those who abuse the substance and regret it later. Should coffee also be banned? This can apply to anything: sports, sex, television, etc. The responsible users of an activity should not be punished simply because of the actions of a select few irresponsible users. Again, I'll use the comparison of video games. If Runescape effects you or your family negatively (eg. a video game addiction) then you would regret it. Therefore, according to your logic, you should never play Runescape, or any other video game for that matter. :?: Perhaps you could elaborate on your arguments. Right now they are sounding slightly hypocritical. (Just to start off, I define 'addiction' as done to the extent in which is to the detriment of more important activities, such as school, work, social life etc.) There is a line to be drawn here. You should be allowed to experience something that is demonstrated to be mildly addictive in some cases, and be told to do it in moderation. If you fail to keep that activity in moderation and do it to the point where you are truly addicted, then you should be prevented from taking part in that activity in the future. Examples include Alcohol, Caffeine, and Video Games. These should be considered 'legal'. However, there are some activities which is considerably more addicting, and as a result there are far too many cases of addiction to that activity. It is not worth experimenting with this activity in the hope that you can do it in moderation because it is usually too addicting to do so. Examples include illegal drugs such as cocaine, heroin, LSD etc. These should be considered 'illegal'. Of course, the problem is where do you draw the line? I think that we should place the line just before tobacco and marijuana, making them both illegal. In fact, it's happening now. The scale should be this (left of line= legal, right of line= illegal): Recreational Activities, Caffeine, Alcohol // Tobacco, Marijuana, Other Soft Drugs, Hard Drugs. Marijuana is illegal in most countries, and tobacco is only still legal because there is a tradition behind it and must be approached slowly, to avoid a fiasco similar to the Prohibition of alcohol in the USA from 1920-1933, which resulted in corruption in those who were supposed to enforce prohibition, 'speakeasies' (illegal bars) popping up everywhere, and in total was an epic failure. Alcohol was too hard to illegalise because it was being drunk in moderation. Tobacco has already been banned from public places in many countries, and is slowly being removed from society.

Wow!
+1. Ftp may get an update, since Jagex seems to be in the mood to give them some updates. I doubt a new skill, but maybe something else? Who knows... :-k

This will make you think.
What I don't get is why people are posting these kind of things as relating directly to RS, unless you're calling for us to allow RWTing again and appealing for a sympathy vote. I'm sure you're not, but then this shouldn't be in this forum. This should be in off topic, debating about the horrible conditions working in China. The issue is happening in real life, not Runescape. I know that China isn't exactly of a 'high standard of living', but their economy is the fastest growing of any country, and will hopefully result in a better standard of living for the Chinese.

Is there a "true" training method?
'Buying a skill' is fine with me because they got the money in the first place, which from the start must have been earned by sheer effort. However, I do respect those who are self-sufficient in their training because it takes a lot of effort and perseverance, with very nice results. There is no 'true' method, it's just a balance between XP and money. However far along the line you go, they are all as 'true' as each other.

Astral Runecrafting Profitable?
The supply is low now, and it will always be low for as long as Lunar Diplomacy remains to have very high requirements to complete. But, if Humidify becomes popular, the demand will rise, and the price will rise. Low effort + High Value Products = Big profits. You just got to get over the first hurdle of finishing Lunar Diplomacy. The only problem is that in order to have a need for Astral Runes (ie use Lunar Magic), you would most likely be able to craft the Runes for yourself. After all, not many people who have 61 crafting, 49 FM, 65 Magic, 60 Mining, and 55 WC would not have 40 RC, unless you despise RCing, but then you would be a minority. I guess that it reduces the demand a bit, but Astral R'Crafting is still much more profitable than Nature R'Crafting.

Tip.it Times Presents: The Avatar as Art
You know, you can tell a lot about someone from their first post. WoW... tick. Drugs... tick. Bad grammar... tick. Anyway, that was an inspiring, albeit short, article. It's like, you start with a block of wood, and you start chipping away at it with a chisel. The more work you put into it, the better it becomes. Put in enough effort, and it becomes award-winning. We are a community of artists, intent of creating something unique to ourselves. Nothing needs to have a true purpose because it won't matter in the end, so have fun.

What is your hiding place?
A place to hide? Hmm... I guess mine would be the bridge over the volcano in the Wilderness, with 3 items of course. I was never much of a Pker, but I don't think that many people know about that spot.

Astral Runecrafting Profitable?
It wouldn't surprise me that Astral Runes are more profitable. Lunar Diplomacy is a hard quest, with some hefty requirements, compared to nature runes which requires almost no effort to start crafting, apart from getting your hands on a nature talisman/tiara and the required RC level. As a result, there is comparatively low supply, and yet (as explained by SupportMage), there is also potential for a very practical use which will use up plenty of Astral Runes, and then there will be high demand in the future. In fact, it may be a good idea to invest in Astral Runes from the GE in the hope that the spell 'Humidify' will become more and more popular, raising the price and giving you nice profits. Of course, crafting them yourself will make bigger profits, so get crafting if you have done the quest!

It must had been a Jmod.. No other way
I expect that revenants are programmed to group together and also to solo. I expect that the best thing to do is run if you see a group on the horizon.

Merry Christmas to everyone at tip.it, and have a happy new year. Oh, and good luck Jagex in making 2008 even better than 2007!

Marionettes
Yeah, you can do that. It doesn't remember your previous marionette colour, so you can switch by dropping and then retrieving via Diango.

Fireworks in RuneScape?
Yes, but only if they got a proper Runescape calendar working. It's been the year 169, 5th Age, for a long time now.

Is it just me? Or has the word "noob" finally destroyed?
*blames miniclip* :anxious: *Punches repeatedly in face* Look, the game had [cabbage] before miniclip, and [cabbage] after, you can't blame miniclip. I think the game always had cabbage. Maybe we should blame the OoC? I had to go on ftp for a bit in order to do the Christmas event, and I never heard the word 'noob'. It feels... weird. Maybe the noobs ranted so much because of the update that they can no longer bear to say/spam the word 'noob'?

Hmmm, Bandos Boots fubared? Boots discussion
+1. You can't just sacrifice a weapon slot just like that. Boot slots, in this situation, are expendable. But a weapon slot isn't. I know that the ancient mace has a useful special, but it isn't exactly what we're looking for in the GWD. It would be nice if the Bandos boots lived up to the rest of the set as 'berserker armour'. There is no reason for these boots to not have a strength bonus. Ok, maybe +5 str is a bit much because of it's obvious primary function of representing Bandos and to avoid destroying the reputation of dragon boots, so we may need to break the mould, but +4 str will at least make it live up to the rest of the Bandos armour set.

Easy way to RWT? Nice try, Jagex? :P
There is too much effort involved for the RWTer, and even then it's not safe at all. The worlds are restricted in number, and once Jagex fixes the game mechanics of BH, it will be impossible to use BH at all to RWT because all of the areas are crowded.

What do you mean by no lifer?
no social life? The question is: how can you kill something that has no life? at the South Park reference. I always think that the term 'no-lifer' is for anyone who puts playing a game first over something that is more important (examples include social life, school work, family relations, occupation). They haven't got their priorities right. You can't put a time limit on the term 'no-lifer' because it varies from person to person.

Tanks. New meaning?
Hmm, I think it depends on how summoning is based. It's best not to try to speculate what we don't really know about (pictures don't help without numbers).

Marijuana, Is It Actually Bad?
No, it normally doesn't cause death. It does much worse; it causes mental damage. I know this because my cousin did marijuana and now he's so messed up because of it. I don't really want to go into details because it's a touchy subject. A few of the people at my school take marijuana, and it certainly hasn't helped them a bit. I always think that they appear much more stressed than anybody who doesn't take it. The problem with our society is that marijuana (everyone I know calls it weed) is accepted too much, and it has a two faced image, the worst part is that neither is completely right. The pro-legalisation side is using the fallacy of the appeal to popularity; it is a flaw to conclude that marijuana is OK on the basis that a large number of people believe it is OK. The anti-legalisation side isn't helping either, it is often utilising biased or inaccurate sources which seem to drown out any factual basis. Contradictory or false statistics are arriving left right and centre and we don't know what to believe. Just one little question though, isn't the fact that marijuana is illegal in most countries proof that those governments do care about their citizen's health, and that they aren't working purely for monetary gain? If they did, they'd legalise it and tax it straight away.

Ninjas or Pirates ~ Only YOU can choose!
I'm sorry, but it's got to be ninjas. They are so much more awesome.
