Suicide (Statistics, Philosophy, etc)
The main thing is that they are not happy and don't want to live. Going on with your life just to please someone isn't living nor is it joyous. Are you telling me there's nothing that can be done to change this?

Knowledge
Is knowledge infinite or finite? Is there a limit to the amount of facts there are in the universe? This question has been bothering me lately. I want to say yes because I don't see how it's logically possible for there to be an unreachable amount of knowledge - omniscience would be impossible, and even if you had an infinite amount of time to learn all you can, you still wouldn't be able to know it all. Then again, facts will be created throughout the flow of time. For example: A computer is an electronic device. This fact didn't exist several decades ago so does that suggest that knowledge is infinite? What ya think?

worst pain ever inflicted on you
I've recently discovered a worse pain than the first one I posted: food poisoning. It really makes me want to cry.

My Top 50 Albums
That's exactly how I feel about him, although I'd probably say I enjoy the harmony between his rapping and the beats more than the actual lyrics. They're still good, but the catchiness of his songs is what lured me in. Oh yeah, and Animals is a great album.

Loves power and influence over People
Well I think love between children is definitely the second most pure form of love in the world, but not as strong as the love between two strangers. My apologies if it seemed like I was belittling the love between progeny and parent. I was just trying to point out that I think spousal love is even more pure because you were strangers at one point, you had to go through the entire process of getting to know each other and breaking the ice, you open up to each other, maybe even a little competition and drama, and then eventually you fall in love. With parenthood, you get to skip most of those steps and you usually automatically love your child the day they are born. In other words, true love between strangers is hard to come by, so when it does exist I think it's the most pure form of love out there.

Loves power and influence over the Media
The concept of love is an interesting one so the media takes advantage of this intriguing element of life, just like the conflict between good and evil. It really works for people who've experienced or want to experience love because then they can witness an example of what true love is or should be and relate it to their own experiences.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
they are 12, not 8. They still can't grasp the concept of a "girlfriend". They don't care about anything so long as the girl is 'hot' and they can make out with them. Their interpretation of a relationship isn't much. Take it from someone who sees this [cabbage] every day. :wall: And at most, the only reason we would want a girlfriend/boyfriend is because it somehow makes you more popular? Hell, I know people older than me that don't even understand it yet.

How do you move?
I usually use the mini map unless I want to go to a specific location. I don't use the mini map in dangerous areas either.
-
Do you gather your own materials?
I used to, but I'm just too impatient to do something like Mine for a week then finally be able to Smith.

what is considered high level?
120+ Combat is pretty high if you ask me.

What you hate about Rs
Yeah. I can understand if you're popular because you have amazing skills, but when noobs just stand around Varrock Square and socialize the whole time they're online then they need to just get Myspace or something. It also irks me how skills are the only thing you can be judged by in the game. We need more achievement oriented stuff.

Iowa, and now Vermont, Pass Same-Sex Marriage Laws
Finally someone else that understand logical thinking and philosophy in general. Sly Wizard understands it, in fact I think he has a degree in it, which makes it worse because it shows that he deliberately misrepresents the opposition positions/refuses to listen to the actual arguments. You're not so innocent yourself. As a matter of fact, I've never seen anyone who is a perfect debater. It's just not humanly natural.

Loves power and influence over People
Which was exactly my point. You can love someone and still do things that you don't want to do for them. For example, I'm sure many moms don't like driving their kids to soccer practice but since they are their children's only means of transportation they probably can't help but to feel obligated to do so. By the way, you're making "obligation" out to be such a horrible word. It only means that something is compelling you to do something other than your own personal desires. When did I say making sacrifices out of fear of getting in legal trouble was love? I specifically said that it wasn't. I might not have children but I can still say that love between strangers is more pure than love between parent and child, because there is nothing compelling them to love each other. The fact that a child and parent are kin and connected by blood compels them to do things for them that they normally wouldn't do for just anyone.

Saddest Song?
Smashing Pumpkins - Today Johnny Cash - Hurt (I like his version better than NIN) Red Hot Chili Peppers - Soul to Squeeze Nirvana - Something in the Way Suicidal Tendencies - How Will I Laugh Tomorrow? Very depressing songs and they're all great. I would have put a Pink Floyd song but that would be cheating. Almost all of them are sad.

Nirvana was the best thing about the 90's.

Once a great game. A story/Rant for veteran players.
Yes, and children can actively think and decide for themselves. Not all 10-year-old's will accept a cigarette because they have the ability to take into account that Cancer = Bad. I know a kid who had his own parent offer him a cigarette but he still refused it because he knew about the risks. Who would've known a kid can be more mature than an adult?

Is God real post your thoughts!
You can't blame everything on social norms. People normally don't like the color brown or the smell of crap but it's not because of the fact that no one else does - it's because it's not appealing to them personally.

Loves power and influence over People
Or out of the fear of being charged with child neglect. And an obligation doesn't necessarily need a tangible agreement to be considered an obligation. Here's a nice definition: something (as a formal contract, a promise, or the demands of conscience or custom) that obligates one to a course of action Your conscience can make you obligated to do something and so can customs. For example, some parents sacrifice for their children only because that's what they see everyone else doing - it's a custom. Some parents do it because they don't want to feel like a bad person - your conscience speaking. I do think that the love between family members is strong, but not as pure as the love between a couple* because there is less of an obligation to love them than there is to love your family. *By couple I don't mean your average high school romance - I mean legitimate and intimate relationships.

Suicide (Statistics, Philosophy, etc)
If a family member or friend dies there is nothing you can do to change the situation. Nothing can bring them back. You can get over it, but death of a loved one is probably the greatest tragedy man must face so it would be a difficult task. As for your question, it completely depends on the source of depression but let's just say that it usually has to do with peer acceptance. Let's compare dealing with the death of a loved one with not being socially accepted - which would you rather deal with? It might be subjective but I feel it puts things into perspective. Also, peer acceptance problems don't have to be permanent and they can be fixed - the only remedy for the problem of death in the family would be to get over it. Of course cases of terminally ill patients or people without any social relationships would be my exception though. It's not only your happiness we're talking about. A lot of people don't want their friends to commit suicide because they want to see them live and be happy. I don't really like the word "selfish" anyways, because if you want to get technical it can be thrown around quite a lot. Our actions are derived from our wants. We don't do things that we don't want to do. Technically that's selfishness too. So yeah, I guess you could say wanting to see your friends be happy is "selfish". Yes, you can. The only thing that would be stopping you from doing so would be yourself. That's a dangerous mentality to bring up anyways - it makes suicidal people feel even more helpless.

Suicide (Statistics, Philosophy, etc)
Part of me thinks that suicide is worse than murder. You are giving up on your brothers and sisters and causing them terrible grief about losing you - not to mention a guilty conscience, like "What could I have done to stop them?" Plus you are evading consequence ultimately, unlike a murderer whereas they will most likely be incarcerated.

I see that as more of an obligation. I find it more amazing how two strangers can meet and fall in love.

Insanity test
Sounds like one of those fast-talking auctioneers. If you don't think the way those guys talk is funny then I would consider that true insanity.

What do you think will happen to us?
We will have an extraterrestrial war before we run out of resources and the chosen ones will descend into the heavens where resources aren't needed.
