Childhood Games?
I know what you mean. I was always intrigued by Final Fantasy 9 when I saw my uncle playing it, but I knew it was way over my head with the abilities and equipment and all. The only RPG I played when I was young was Shining Force, but that game is very straightforward. Oh and Pokemon if you would even count that. I'm surprised that hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet.

Runescape Machinima
Yep, it's also a console thing too. X Box 360 elitists always rip on PS3 elitists and vice versa. The problem is really just video game elitism in general.

Homosexuality: Right or Wrong?
I think of orientation the same way as I think of taste. You can't force yourself to enjoy a food that repulses your tongue. If you did, that would just make you delusional. You do raise a good point though. I also dislike when people try to blame someone's actions solely on their genetics. But I just don't see how you can control what "turns you on". Without trying to be too graphic, it is an involuntary bodily function we're talking about here. Murdering someone is a voluntary action. And I suppose acting on your homosexuality is voluntary too, but being gay is a different story.

Childhood Games?
Haha Putt Putt Saves the Zoo. I forgot about that game. My childhood games would be the Sonics, Shining Force, Mortal Kombat, Altered Beast, Quake, Rampage, and mainly Zelda OoT. I've been a gamer almost my entire life.

Driving games. Vroom vroom!
Besides Cruisin World, I hate car games. Now that I think about it, that game wasn't that great either. It was the only thing we had for the N64 at the time, so that's why I played it so much.

Lol, I enjoy when you reveal your cheesy side.

My first kiss was on Halloween. <3: Other than that, there is no significance to the date. Like I said on the food thread, candy sucks.

The difficulty of Runescape
Skills are easier to show off than money. You can lose money, people can't see your bank, and prices of items fluctuate. As for skills, when you get a 99, it will be in the hi scores permanently. In online games, players want to be recognized. The thing is, there are so many maxed out players now that the only way to be recognized for your hard work in RS anymore is to spend thousands upon thousands of hours of pointless clicking, or to find a creative alternative such as Lvl 3 Skillers, but now those are extremely common too.

Should marijuana remain illegal? Why should it be legal?
So what you are saying is that if cannabis were legal, there would be an increase in mental illnesses? Legality barely stops people from using drugs though. Marijuana is already a part of our society, even if it's illegal.

Once a great game. A story/Rant for veteran players.
It's fine to be upset that PKing is gone, but there is definitely an unwarranted amount of complaints about it. I can either believe there are people out there who actually deify a simple video game feature to an unjustifiable extent (some even made it seem like their lives revolved around it), or I can believe that they are just looking for an excuse to complain - since that's what human beings are geared towards doing anyway. After all, nostalgia does tend to blow things out of proportion. That's not to say that people didn't enjoy it - I just have the feeling that a lot of people make PKing out to be something so extraordinary and great for argument's sake.

Should marijuana remain illegal? Why should it be legal?
It's possible for some people, especially growers who have pounds at their expense - but as for your average smoker, you're absolutely right. A pack of 20 cigarettes here is about 6 bucks. 20 joints would cost several times that amount. Not only that, but there isn't even much of a need to smoke that much marijuana. The effects of one joint can last you about an hour, while a cigarette's effects last about 5 minutes. It's really the quantity of tobacco that kills so many people.

Farmville: a gateway drug?
I think it's because they see their friends playing it and they want to be involved too. Much like RS. Most people know about RS because of their friends. Facebook is site dedicated to communicating with your friends, so when you have lots of friends on your page and you see several of them playing it, there's a pretty high chance of you being interested, hence its popularity. It looks very boring to me though.

Smoking and eating unhealthy can be dangerous to other people just as well. There is secondhand smoking, fires are caused by lit cigarettes, and you can get a heart attack from unhealthy eating which can result in the fatality of another person if you are driving, operating heavy machinery, etc. There are many legal things that can cause the death of others, but the thing is that they are just rare freak accidents. If we made a law against everything that can potentially cause the death of another person, theme parks would be illegal, toys that you can choke on would be illegal, making stairs would be illegal. Death is all around us. The important thing to look at is how often deaths are caused - not just because death is possible. In the case of a human killing another human because he didn't wear his seat belt, that's pretty damn rare. Killing yourself by not wearing one, now that is common and this is where I think a lot of you get the two confused. You're really just splitting hairs when your whole argument comes down to, "Well there's a small chance that it can kill someone else." Fair point, but what about hospitals? If tobacco and unhealthy eating were banned, don't you think hospitals would have a lot less on their chests too? If they wanted to minimize pressure on emergency services, why do they allow millions of people to get cancer and heart disease? I think the difference between killing yourself from smoking and killing yourself from getting in a crash is money. They get money from letting you smoke. They get money from making you wear your seat belt.

By the looks of some of your posts, some of you guys still don't get my point and seem to be thinking I am against wearing seat belts. I'll try to clarify one more time. I am not arguing the effectiveness of seat belts. I am arguing that not wearing one doesn't warrant a fine. It's like if the government fined you if you didn't lock your windows at night. Yeah, if they did, there would probably be a lot less break-ins and whatnot, but that's not what kind of world I want to live in. The government should save their energy for actual crimes, and not just preventing people from making stupid mistakes by punishing them for it. Besides, it's pure hypocrisy that they allow you to smoke as many cigarettes as you want, but when it comes to seat belts they all of a sudden care about our health. I'm surprised so many of you are fine with paying tickets for something as simple as not strapping your own body down.
