I don't know where you got that price for NOD32, I bought it for $35. Anyway, if your father thinks paid antiviruses are better, then get him the Kaspersky Internet Security suite, even if it's expensive, it doesn't cost as much as Norton (which is $110 where I live).

Why not just get any other good brand of mp3 players? You can sync them using windows media player if you want!

There are 2 students in my classes that have alienware laptops (we have our own laptop to bring to college), and one of them already had to have someone change his keyboard, since the keys were falling appart. That's only after a little less than 4 months of him having it. I'm sorry for your loss on your Hp computer, but imo, it just was one of those that die short after buying (or you pushed it too far too often). Hp computers are generally computers that have a high quality and that don't break.

Yes, Kaspersky is a very good antivirus, and so is NOD32. I have used them both over the years and have kept me safe. Avira Antivir and Avast are very good alternatives to paid antiviruses too as they are good. Don't listen to those saying AVG is good though, they are outdated with their conception of antiviruses as it was good a year ago, but is in fact one of the worst nowadays. A good anti-spyware is Ad-Aware. It's even better when paired with Spybot Search & Destroy.

Haha, I'm a cheap bastard too. If you are like me as you say, then just shop around. My mouse is a microsoft mouse I got on sale for $12 and it served me over the past few months flawlessly even if it's a microsoft. Bought it after my Hp wireless that came with my computer's buttons wore out. Had served me flawlessly for a few years.

If Norton does the job, then it's fine. How do you know Norton isn't that great anyway? Personal experiences, or what you heard? When I used to have Norton (Swapped because it was cheaper if we were on one Anti Virus), it worked to perfection. ~Ouchy Both. Norton has horrible detection rate, and it consumes a lot of resources. +1 I used to have Norton when my computer was a simple dual core with 2GB of RAM. Removed Norton for Kaspersky that year, computer was twice as fast and Kaspersky detected at least 10 viruses. My computer is still a dual core haha, but has 4GB of Ram and I would only be interested on how much Norton would slow it down with that amount of RAM. Oh, and I was on Windows XP at the time, and now I'm on Vista.

Lol Norton? #-o Get a good antivirus, I will only name some good free antivirus, like Avira Antivir or Avast!. Norton is just crap and will not give such good results, even if it was updated it wouldn't, and removing it will free up A LOT of computer resources.

I would try a reinstall, it's not normal you had those problems (exept if you chose costum install, then maybe you messed up something). Are you sure it does not have a tab system? It always has, and you can check by using either the ctrl + t keys or clicking file and open new tab.

That's true, that's why he has a Core 2 processor, the E5200. Anyways, I'd upgrade the video card. It'll probably be enough to run RSHD, but I think you'd like a bit more juice. If you can afford it, the Ati 4850 card is a very good card with a lot of bang for the buck. It's a Pentium D processor in his list, not a Core 2.

I agree. It's the guy's fault for moving the console while it was running. Anyway, I wouldn't have gone over $500 as well, that's enough to pay for a new xbox/games.

Nice, here we have a lot of snow and ice now. Actually, today is the day we had the 3rd snowfall since friday. We had 30cm of snow which turned in freezing rain on the afternoon. The last 2 snowfalls didn't do much, only 15-20cm of snow each time. It's much easier to walk on the river (covered in ice, of course) than to walk on the parking lot in front of my appartment, since walking on leveled ice is much easier than walking on 6 inch of ice that's not equal everywhere, and it seems it's worse 50 km south of here :o

Yeah, Opera owns on the security side as well. WoT will still load the page in the background when it pops up, but Opera will block you with a fraud warning.

IE8 is vulnerable too.
