His computer isn't super old, it's a one year old computer. Even my 4 year old computer has a pci-e x16, although I have built a new computer since.

Well then definitely IPB. Moderator-specific features work far better. To prevent a myriad of polls popping up, this addition has been restricted to moderators and up. Users are always free to send a PM and request one. That's possible with phpbb too. I only have administrated and moderated some phpbb forums, so I can't really judge seing as I never had access to that on IPB, most people prefer to use free software for forums.

Did you install the driver? if you did, did you try a power cycle on your router/modem?

Norton, despite getting better lately, is still a huge memory hog and doesn't detect much. Better go with somethign Like Kaspersky or Microsoft Security Essentials.

After a year, the Acer battery life is almost nonexistant, I can say that by observation, someone in my class has a Acer laptop and the battery only last like 20 minutes, laptop is only a year and a half old. My Asus laptop's battery life hasn't changed much, the battery is almost as performant as new, after 2 years of having the laptop, although it has reduce a little bit because of usual usage with any battery. Agreed on an older card. I think he's quite right. My ASUS monitors were good for the money (picture-wise), but within a week I had stuck pixels and eventually dead pixels on one (which I got refunded for) and within 2 months, the backlight on the other one started flickering. I figured it wasn't worth the battle a second time and took a look myself; loose connection. I patched that up and it worked for another two months, but suddenly the backlight bleed intensified and the flicker became far worse; really shoddily made but YGWYPF. I've recommended ASUS a few times here (in this very thread!) and I will never recommend them again after those. Not what I would call well-made at all. It's a shame because the actual picture quality on them was brilliant but the build just didn't live up to it. Long story short, I took a gamble and lost. That's life. Maybe you had screens from a bad batch? We never know, and I haven't really thought about Asus screens, and know nothing about them, but their computers are very good. I have an Asus laptop, 2 years old now and still works like a brand new. 2 years warranty is fun too on their computers. Also I'm on a class where there's a lot of people with their laptops and college laptops (which are lenovo, and some of them had the motherboard changed because of a failure), and you can see the usage on most. On my Asus, only place the usage is apparent is the keyboard.

The EEE is a very good one, will probably last longer than that alienware.

It's not a Dell, but I just wanted to ask, what is wrong with them? (I apologise in advance for the noob question). What is wrong with them, is that they put cheap parts in their computers and then when someone get's a Dell, it will break within a few months, and I've seen that happen with every recent Dells I've seen.

You could try a system restore to before it did that? I find it odd though, as if it closes and reopens the window.

Do whatever feels right, but if you have a PS3 to play the blu ray movies, then I don't see any reason you'd go with it on the computer unless you're going to actually burn blu-ray discs. Then again, as long as it's not a Dell computer, you should be good.

I go just fine with 100+ ping in FPS games. Ever has happenned to you that you knife a guy before he knifes you and you die by his knife? Also die by few bullets when you have to fire a whole lot of bullets to other people? That's what happens when I play in 100+ ping FPS games. (maybe a little more)

Maybe you should temporarly go back to Java 6u18? I have that version and have none of the problems people have been reporting lately.

As usual it's up to the parents to decide if their kids should do that or not, but I agree with them doing that type of thing before eating.
