Does your school have this?
I'm on the same boat, Nadril. I took BASIC/Visual Basic to learn..I plan to take Java next year. Sadly, most everyone in the FRESHMAN class decides to go off and treat it as a class to look at the internet or play Solitaire. I'm in the freshman class, and I'm (seriously) probably the only one that actually pays attention and tries to work at learning this. Yet, because the rest of the freshman class, it's making me look like a 'stupid freshman', even though I'm working as hard as anyone else in there. Now I'm actually struggling while we're learning For loops and Dimensions because I can't get left alone for a second because of the guys beside me I hate it.

Does your school have this?
I don't THINK we do..we might though, but he never controls anything on screen. The admin (whom I think is our VB teacher) downloaded SurfControl...basically, it blocks out sites with suggestive image names (by looking at the code) and certain web sites. He's also blocked access to any editing of the computer settings (besides your desktop wallpaper and files), and blocked access to most programs like Command Prompt. We can just go through the Windows folder and delete cookies and temp. internet content though, and I know how to create a command prompt ;)

What's your allignment?
Probably Neutral-Chaotic. Normally, it mght be Neutral-Lawful..but recently, I've kind of taken a disliking of the new principal and her [developmentally delayed]ed rules.

Halo Discussion thread
He's been a Metroid fan for a long time..he said he really wanted Corruption, until he figured out that you dont fight MB at the end of it. He got all sad and gave up on the game..even though it IS great. It's not overhyped at all, heck, it'll be great..but there's just too much excitement over it, it got annoying. I kind of agree though..Metroid has it's better points. It was more exciting and funner to play, but I liked Halo as well.

Halo Discussion thread
I was excited for Halo 3..not as excited now. All I heard today, from my FRIEND (notice how it is singular), 'HALO3HALO3HALO3IMAPLAYTHURSDAYWOOO!O!!O!O!O!O!OI'M GUNNA TELL YEH ALLLL BOUT IT WoOO!!!!!!!!!!!! *faint* *revive* OOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!' Gets annoying after a while. I'm glad I'm NOT hearing about it for a few minutes. I am excited, but not about to blow my top off because of the launch..

AoM
If I can give some advice, just make an experiment map..learn how to use it yourself, just experiment with trial and error and learn how it works. Thats how I learned the basic functions of AoE 2: AoK triggers.

Cruelty to Animals: Whats your stand
Y'know, I see it this way. A Grizzly bear, for example..if it sees you at a distance maybe, it isn't going to walk right up, and slaughter you on the spot. However, if you approach, and you seem like a threat..then yeah, it won't give a care if it tears you limb by limb. Another example..a shark. Normally, they'll just ignore humans or other species. If they are hungry, however..and it has reason to believe that the other is edible, it isn't going to hesitate to tear you apart and meet it's needs. Y'know what else? Neither a bear nor a shark will willingly go out and give up meat for good to preserve human life. So, humans..we have come out as the dominant species. Should we hesitate to meet our needs, of course, without unnecessary cruelty?

runescape abnormally slow
Try downloading the latest version of Java...and also, clear temporary internet files and cookies. If you've used the computer quite a bit so far, maybe go for a Disk cleanup and defrag. If it continues, try restarting the computer. After that, if it's still going, you might want to run a virus/spyware scan. And if any of these dont work..maybe it's a problem on your ISP's line.

Windows 95 games on XP?
I've never had any problems..just install as usual. You might need to install something though.

Steam will not connect, help please?
You downloaded and installed steam..did you create an account? It's been a while since I did, and I installed from the HL2 CD...so..it may be different. I do know for sure if you're using Norton Antivirus, it'll display a firewall message that you need to confirm.

Counterstrike Ques.
Just buy the game. It'll be worth it..I'm sure the school paid for it. After all, the school system DOES have money.. And don't try and download for free..if you want to go online, you'll need steam. And to play CS online, you'll need an account. And to play through the account, you'll need a CD key..and unless you buy it through steam or buy it at the store, you'll be missing the CD key.

Cool ways of earning a living independently
I don't really like Microsoft (or Windows) much anymore...but I think that Bill Gates did it right. He does what he enjoys through programming and stuff, and about 20-30 years later, he is the richest man in the world and the head of one of the world's largest companies.

Halo 3 Ending Leaked
I know I'll get a lot of colorful responses from this.. That ending was one of those that Bungie probably threw out. Most gaming companies make multiple endings, and throw the duds out. I am fairly sure that that ending was one of those that were abandoned..I doubt it's the real ending.

Were the Atomic Attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki Justified?
I'm not talking about torture right now. I'm talking about your "preserve as much life as possible during WWII" argument. Now, wars are confusing things morally to begin with. However, most believe that war is justified in certain conditions - that the end can justify the means. HOWEVER, most people also agree that these conditions shouldn't just be everyone-tries-to-kill-everyone. Most people believe that soldiers who volunteer to serve their nation on each side should fight, and innocent civilians should be protected and not involved. Thus, the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were intended to kill massive amounts of civilians. The lives "protected" by these acts were mostly soldier lives. There is a significant moral difference between these two lives, in terms of war. (If you believe that war is justified at all; I personally am not prepared to undertake that argument.) Then again, you have to remember..Hiroshima WAS a city with a lot of military connections. There were factories there, and many other military stations were there also. They COULD have struck other cities...but they didnt, because hitting Hiroshima and Nagasaki would have the most impact on the military. They didnt just randomly pick a city to bomb..they put SOME thinking behind it.

Need help with some adware
Sounds a lot like Ultimate Defender..I had that one a while back. Scan with a Spyware scanner and an Antivirus. If this keeps occuring..there's a patch online somewhere, just google it. You might also want to run a program to fix any registry errors.. EDIT: You've already got it done, then. Congrats!
