  1. Go naked cept a games necklace and decent axe. Bring 3-4 super energy (4) and the rest food. Lobsters are fine, just make sure you leave room for logs. Nice and cheap if you die. Every time you enter the cave the monster respawns from one of, I think 4 points. Leave and come back in until you can't see him on the mini map. Run and chop a log, near the entrance. If you hear the sound run town the tunnel and out. Go back in until he spawns in a decent place again and try again. This part has 3 levels of difficulty. Once you light a pyre he gets harder, the 2nd pyre harder still, and at the 3rd form it is evil. I didn't realise this so had masses of trouble. Best way is to cut 15 logs and make the pyres all at once. There used to be a trick where you could bring in 15 logs from the normal world and entering the spirit world turned them into the ones you need to burn. I think it was willows, but I can't be sure and it may not work now.
  2. here is it I did the quest before the guides came out and I was so angry >.< I'm sorry, unless you're doing this for your quest cape, it's a waste of time. This quest was brilliant, even for a high levelled player with all quests completed. Not all updates can be epic quests. This quest caters for a newer player, and serves to introduce them into the Mahjarrat storyline. A storyline itself which is fed into by other storylines making it very very complex. This quest was the start of yet another storyline, and you can't start a storyline with a WGS style epic. Also from a questers point of view this quest had it all. Story, puzzles and unlocked areas. The rewards shouldn't really matter, you should quest for fun as well as rewards. WGS's reward was pretty hefty, far heftier than it should have been, surely that makes up for a few quests having mediocre rewards? Bottom line is that not all updates are going to be aimed at you personally. A new player to the game would love this quest, older players to the game do love this quest so you can't really be angry just because it wasn't something you enjoyed doing. I don't like PvP but you don't hear me moaning about the masses of pvp updates and old Wildy replacements. At the end of the day at some point an update will come out which I do enjoy.
  3. Don't change your original post. It only serves to confuse people. Make a new topic if you want, or add any new questions to the original post under a EDIT: word. Don't wipe it totally. To the new question best way is to use a Kyatt and Pictoris. If you can't summon a Kyatt then running to and from Pictoris and the bank there.
  4. Will people please stop whinging about there being no good updates this year. Not all releases can be Recipe For Disaster/While Guthix Sleeps epics. I have been quite happy with the 2 most recent quests and Soul Wars, although not my cup of tea, has had favourable reviews. If it bothers you that much, cancel your subscription and do something else. For the price you pay the updates have been fine. Also think back to being a new account. You can do this quest pretty early on in your RS career. Imagine the joy of figuring out bits about the Mahjarrat as you progress, all ending with WGS. Even without the final part(s) of the Mahjarrat storyline that's still an epic journey and I applaud Jagex for making this noob quest and introducing newer members to the Mahjarrat. The storyline was good, the puzzle was good, the lands to the North are finally opened for us to view/explore so this was not a bad update. People should learn to be gratful for what they have.
  5. I do them as they are reasonable XP and decetn gold charms. Trouble is purely crowding. All those ranger noobs are irritating, then you have to fight melee noobs who just camp for clue scrolls. Currently if it is busy I fight in a PvP world or in the wildy. (prayer method to reduce cost should I die) although this rather ruins the task. When Jagex release high level servers hopefully this issue will be resolved. I'd prefer a room in the Chaos Tunnel's to be hellhounds only though.
  6. You should arrange a real life meet for us older people. In a real pub!
  7. [hide=Dream Evil - Chasing The Dragon] [/hide] Brilliant song, and brilliant band however the fact the lyrical content is about heroin abuse makes me loathe to suggest someone use it in a video.
  8. Altricious' article was awesome. As an older player it really struck a chord. Most older people scoff at online games so it's nice to know there are other older players out there.
  9. I didn't even know there was a bug with them for attacking people outside the clouds from the inside. Must not have been a largely used bug. cat666: I'm pretty sure they were referring to some other bug, from the sounds of it when you did Withdraw-X it did something weird. If they actually removed it thats really stupid. EDIT: The thing that remembers the last withdraw-x you did WAS NOT REMOVED. Had to put that in large text. Thank God for that. That was great in so many ways.
  10. I'm a high level and I love quests more than anything. Why all the hate over this though? Sure the requirements are a teensy bit low but they can't all be 8 hour long masterpieces. From a little seed a mighty acorn will grow. I'm more worried about the fact that Withdraw-X storing the value was a bug! There goes easy herblore.
  11. Go for a song with "dragon" in it. Plenty to choose from. Killing The Dragon by DIO sounds the most apt.
  12. Parcelling teaks is faster than both.
  13. Yeah monster drops are the same. There are advantages to monster killing on PvP though. 1. Not crowded. You'll have place to yourself mostly. 2. You can get your pvp drop potential up and actually do something usful.
  14. Money might not be a problem for some people, they might want fast exp. And killing them one on one is faster than cannoning? Or did I misunderstand? I found it faster to kill one on one yes. Trick is if one passes you when you are fighting another to whack it so it stays nearby. Save loadsa time running around picking up drops (which are plentiful here).
  15. Don't buy prayer pots on the GE. I get around 30 ranarr's a week from the MTK minigame and supplement them with drops from slayer. Don't even need to farm my own. Not had to buy a ranarr or a prayer pot on the GE ever.
  16. Do both. At the end of the day Jagex have severely limited the way you can make money via skilling. I used to be of the belief that combat didn't matter but sadly it does. I am now at the point where I kill for cash to raise non-combat skills.
  17. Helm first. Work out which 4 tasks you want to block and block as you go. I advise iron and steel dragons as a must. The other 2 are up to you, mine are Warped Terrorbirds and Skelly Wyverns. Rings should come next, but make sure you leave a buffer for blocking a task if it comes up. It is worth unlocking the fletching purely for completion's sake. If Jagex release a quest/diary with this needed, you're one step ahead of the rest. Finally spend the points on slayer dart runes. Saving 90 or so points for skips if you get Kalphite/Hellhounds in a busy time or something.
  18. In theory I should be able to block 5...
  19. Also cannon in Smoking Kills dungeon is totally pointless against Spectres. 1. They attack with range and don't move so you have to run around picking up drops 2. Spectres are great cash. Why ruin this by wasting most of it on cannonballs. 3. It is actually quicker killing them one on one with a zammy brew, super strength and mage prayer.
  20. Yes they are dangerous. The only drop difference is when you kill players, players who are probabyl very experienced pk'rs and will own you in an instance.
  21. I think you have missed the point of the question. This is not the best exp. i would personally recommend Soulwars, as you can choose to afk or fight the jellies which gives normal experience. find a tie world using the main sw world. i can accumilate 45k an hour without doing anything. Not missed the point at all, the question was just worded incorrectly. The word best can be taken to mean different things by different players. For me, the best XP is via slayer as you are training 3 skills at the same time (slayer, HP, melee) and thus saving time in the bigger picture. I assume you think the best XP is the quickest XP, which in most cases it is, but not in the case of HP. No. His question was to find out the quickest HP exp. If he were to do slayer, the exp would be very slow, accumilating around 10k HP exp an hour, compared to the 45k + Soulwars and Pest Control method. Read his original post. Doesn't mention the word quickest at all.
  22. It's just under 150k an hour.
  23. Not strictly true. It works on metals but only reduces the damage. I use it in CT when I go past the bronze. Max he's hit me for is 29 and the message says "your prayers resist some of the dragonfire". So it is a little help.
  24. I second this method. Even buying trading sticks from the GE you profit. Sure it isn't a lot, but it's a nice bonus to some really good XP.
  25. Last I heard it was going to be the whole Wilderness and not use craters.
