  1. I got the lesser demon scroll a while back and had trouble killing it (you can't use weapons or armour), I did kill it but really the reward was pitiful. Nice to get one done though. I'd killed possibly 5k lessers(not consecutively) at this point.
  2. So, you only help people when they aren't asking to be helped? :-s Now you sound like the immature one to me. I'd have seen it this way: If the original people training had given him the dhides, they'd have only wasted 4 blue dhides. If the poster had killed 4 blue dragons to get the dhides, the trainers would have lost the combat exp, the bones and the hides. You're ignoring the crucial point: He's asking for 6k's worth of stuff so he can do a clue. His motivation for asking for the stuff is that he wants to make money. He's asking for free stuff, so he can make money............................................................................................ You're saying that by taking their stuff rather than the kills he would have been doing them a favour? Anyway i highly doubt he killed 28 dragons in a row while they just stood there being angry.
  3. If I'm going to kill dragons, I'd kill until I got as much out of them as possible too. If they'd rather you compete with them for kills, then take the kills. More often than not clues give you nothing. So either make it up by doing them quickly, or if that's not possible, take a few extra minutes and make some cash while doing the clue. That seems perfectly reasonable. I've given away d'hides before many times. It's not THAT hard to get kills at taverly or hero's, so giving away 1-4 hides isn't that big of a deal. Its not hard to get the hides, but it takes time.Time which the OP didn't have, so he asked for someone else to sacrifice their time for him/her. Again not an unreasonable denial. Just because someone wants to do something quickly doesn't mean your an arsehole for refusing them.
  4. Occasionally enjoyment is derived from an achievement, regardless of whether the journey to the achievement was fun or not. This time less pretentiously:getting the experience for 65 firemaking was dull and tedious, getting 65 firemaking made me happy because it was a goal I'd had for a while.
  5. 4 d hides isn't enough to share the award, i have shared my rewards before, when i was new to treasure trails. My friend literally helped me step to step and got me the items i needed to do it. I didn't get anything special but i gave him more than half the reward. i only acted 'petulantly' because...hmm how should i phrase this.... Well i explained this all in my first post -.-. You acted petulantly because you didn't get what you wanted, I know. Thats pretty much the definition of acting petulantly. Personally i would have let you kill the dragon 4 times, but i don't think its ungenerous(i don't know if this is a word) that people didn't give you stuff for free, after all 'gathering' those hides required at least one of: runes/arrows/armour/weapon/food which means they are using their stuff to help you, when you are offering nothing in exchange. I really don't think thats unreasonable.
  6. If i'm at the blue dragon in taverly I'm not giving anyone my hides, because the dragon is so crowded ALL DAY LONG, so its hard to get 14 kills without having to compete/share with at least 1 other person. Getting a free dragon can take half an hour. Also because people(you didn't know) didn't give you something, they aren't generous? Generosity is an odd thing to quantify in Runescape because any character can do anything, we are all equal when we create an account. You wanted 4 hides quickly so you could do a clue, you were looking to get your clue done as quickly as you could so you requested other peoples stuff and when they denied it to you, you acted petulantly. Question: Would you of shared the reward(regardless of value) for the clue if one of them had helped you? Did you consider this at the time?
  7. F2P- If you have a high level people will felate you P2P- Theres much more to do I know what I'd choose.
  8. I think a lot of p2p'ers experience of f2p is standing in lumbridge when they run out of credit and seeing all the begging and what not, but really if your actually skilling or fighting very few people are begging and spamming. I can very much envision a scenario where members would go onto f2p servers and mock people, i can understand why this would be annoying, but really theres nothing you can do about it. This isn't something that can be fixed, there will always be people who are 'not nice' and you just have to live with it, sorry.
  9. If that were in any way true then I would be able to make a fortune by gathering up leaves and selling them. The simple fact is, that unless there is someone willing to buy what you are selling (ie demand)... then you have no sale and no supply. Is it sometimes immoral to fulfil a demand... yes certainly... I don't see methamphetamine manufacturers as being innocent victims forced into a life of illegal drug making to satisfy the incessant demand for meth. But if there weren't people out there looking for a cheap high, then the meth labs would cease to exist. a) The demand for personal music players has been around since the 80s. B) The iPod shipped in late 2001... prior to that we saw the release of the MPMan in '97, the RIO in '98 and Compaq's Personal Jukebox in '99. c) It is quite possible for there to be a demand for things well before they are available on the market. EAT my point: There were MP3 capable players before the Ipod, there was near to zero demand for them, the Ipod was released with a billion dollar marketing campaign, suddenly there IS demand for ALL MP3 capable devices. It is far too glib to say that demand for personal, portable music devices has been around for ages( mini-disc players were far from successful despite your implied declaration that all personal players were in demand), in fact the very first mass produced PPMD was the Sony Walkman, THERE WAS NO DEMAND, THE SONY WALKMAN WAS A HUGE GAMBLE, the product created demand. As for point c), if you're going to quote me, then read all of what you quote, me:'but sometimes the product drives/creates demand and not the other way round', all i'm saying is SOMETIMES an innovative ("") product can create demand, where there was none, that statement to me doesn't seem to require the response of your point c.
  10. This is a very good guide, it tells you everything you need to know.
  11. Actually iPods are multimedia devices. Not just mp3 players. Thats why they're so expensive. Not just because they hold a ton of songs, or because they have a 160gb hard drive. They should be called mmsdmp3 players. (multimedia storage device mp3 players.) Were the original Ipod's multimedia devices? Anyway thats not really the point. The point was that Ipod's drove demand for players that could read the MP3 format, there was no demand for them before the Ipod.
  12. None of these terms mean anything to me, i very rarely pk and most of my interaction with pkers is when they attack me at green dragons or before the abyss. It is absurd for someone to attack you and then when you eat at 40 hp they call you a safer. Really unless you and another pker have a talk about not eating untill at a certain hp lvl/not casting magic from far away then there is no breach of honour. There are no rules in the wilderness, and this so called code of ethics is non-existant as far as i can see. Anyway we aren't knights of yore (who incidentally weren't as honourable as people think) and really if you pk you are attacking people to kill them and take their stuff, lets not talk about ethics and rules. Edit:If we really intend to invoke the word honour, then surely it's not honourable to attack someone who is basically defenseless/doesn't want to fight. This code of honour should be renamed: 'arbitrary set of guidelines some guys thought up a while back'. I see no reason to abide by these 'guidelines' any more than abiding by these totally awesome ones i just thought up:1) Only pk people who are you're lvl or higher, reason: because i say so. 2)You may only pk in lvl 20+ wildy, reason:because i say so.3)Dragon daggers are banned from use in pking situations, reason:because i say so. ETC.................................
  13. 1st)people who are desperate for sex=ALL HUMANS EVER (except for those who are asexual-there are people like this) 2nd) What i was saying is yes people want to have sex or have more items in a game, but they would have no recourse if there wasn't a company/individual willing to meet their demands in exchange for cash. Its a two headed thing, theres demand so there is a product, there is a product so there is demand. I am saying(trying to :) ) that sometimes in certain circumstances if the product wasn't introduced the demand wouldn't exist/would cease to exist. edit:case in point: THE Ipod, before the ipod there were MP3 players, in fact there were mp3 players that were FAR superior to the Ipod, with better batteries, capacity, audio output etc.. but Apple played their hand well and spent BILLIONS marketing the damn thing so everyone (we are all sheeple) thought wow, wth is this new fangled technological marvel? we must buy for extortionate money, and the sales for ALL MP3 players shot up. This is a case of a product creating demand rather than demand creating the product.
  14. While i actually agree with you, that argument has no foundations, without prostitutes there would be not prostitution, just because their is demand doesn't mean that these men and women HAVE to open their legs/bend over. Where theres a market there will be a product yes, but sometimes the product drives/creates demand and not the other way round.
  15. I'd like to point of that our grandparents had it just as hard 70-100 years ago in our respective countries, i don't see the chinese having a sympathy parade for them. Our nations developed faster so we are stuck with this 'guilt' because our countries were stronger (unified coherent governments ftw). Yes i feel sympathy for people who live hard lives under crappy regimes but its not our fault this is the case and honestly i don't think China would piss on any of our respective countries if they were on fire.
  16. You played the game and got bored, i played WoW and got bored, people are different, i disliked WoW oddly enough because despite its largesse i found it very simplistic. I still play Runescape after a year-ish of playing because i find the experience enjoyable i can't really say more than that.
  17. Its vary rare to find a P-mod acting like a .......nasty person, more often than not p-mods are fielding question after question and being perfectly polite about it. If you see a p-mod being a tool(breaking rules) report them and voila they lose modship. There is a grey area of course and thats p-mods not breaking the rules but acting like jerks, i dunno what can be done about this really, because Jagex hasn't made being a jerk a reportable offense.
  18. They aren't kidnapped and forced to work as slaves you know....There is a lot of unfairness in China yes, but these people are ex farmers/peoples parents who were farmers, whos farm land has been turned into mines/power plants/luxury housing etc.. and now they live in the cities and get whatever job they can. This migration is natural in an industrialising country but the organization of the 'peoples party' and lack of civil liberties mean that its happening unbelievably quickly and with little thought for a few million people who have to struggle to be able to eat. Still if people followed the rules and didn't buy gold then there wouldn't be this problem, really the blame is on these people who buy Runescape gold for money and the Chinese 'companies' that violate Jagex's intellectual property(game).
  19. Can't believe you're drawing parallels between football and runescape.. and you claim you're mature.. get real, please, for your own sake. Are you the master of metaphors? If not kindly explain to this person why you think him comparing fair play in football and in Runescape is facetious, rather than saying 'lol u r teh stupid face'. Also mocking ones maturity level because they disagree with you isn't helpful, its' not like he said 'yeh runescape is teh football we all should be nicerer coz thats what drogba would say.'
  20. You complain that people steal your kills, which yes is rude, then you say you purposefully try and get someone killed because you don't want to share boss kills......which is rude yes. You cancel yourself out. Almost every lvl 105+ in god wars is a self-obsessed arsehole who only cares about getting their new drops. Actually you can extend that to almost EVERY 105+. I've only just started to notice this but they really are generally a LOT ruder than lvl 80's-90's. EDIT:considering the number of quite frankly ridiculous responses you have received i'll weigh in and help you out. Where is the benefit of fighting someone for monster drops, when you know that you wont get to kill all the monsters and could easily hop worlds in a grand total of 20 seconds? The fact that a few of you have said the OP is the one with the attitude problem is quite frankly ridiculous, is it wrong to get annoyed at people who are rude and make your life harder than it should be (albeit your online one)? If it is i don't want to live in your world because your are all sadists/masochists.
  21. This, i average about 80 bloods per trip to the barrows chest. True, but if you're an efficient barrower like me, you can get 1-2k bloods a week. I once got 6k bloods in a week at Barrows back in June. I've gotten as much as 300 in a run... It adds up fast. Actually i was agreeing with you, I'm not at the point stats-wise and equipment-wise to do barrows quickly but i've generally got 500 bloods in my bank after a day or two of barrowing(2-4 hours?) and as you say this adds up.
  22. This, i average about 80 bloods per trip to the barrows chest.
  23. No problem really for rcers, it just means the pkers get 2-3 seconds more chance to attack, if you're that bothered go on the east side of the river (I Runecraft in the abyss). BAD news for green dragon killers (they aren't all gold farmers/autoers). GOOD news for the experienced (read:good) Pkers. Edit:fixed some awful spelling errors :wall:
  24. If you tank for your team to the extent that you run out of food way before the rest and have to tele and then the next kill the team makes is a hilt drop, you more than deserve an equal share. By taking all that damage YOU brought about the chance of the next kill, without you tanking who knows what would have happened, maybe te rest of the team would have taken massive damage by not agreeing who was tanking, and all would have to tele out. Thats why its best to team with 'friends' but of course this isn't always possible.
  25. An 'official' world is pointless, given that if there are 8 or more people teaming a boss the chances of getting a drop falls waaaaaaaaay down. A team of 3-5 seems perfect for the bosses, an official world will mean the lolatastic effect seen in world 99 where 20+ people are in the boss room will prevail. The best thing to do is hop worlds (if you don't have 'friends' who want to go)until you find a smallish team ready to go in or already in and tag along. I really don't understand why when theres 1 team in a boss room another(team) comes in, they're basically [bleep]ing everyone over themselves included.
