70 herblore
Cheapest way? Go to Chaos Druids. Bank all herbs including Harralander and above. Collect / buy seconds and make those pots! You can sell higher herbs to fund seconds but i never did that 'cos i played the long game, if you get my drift.

RS: scientific vs. relaxed approach
I agree with Muggi (page 1) in that I take the most efficient route to goal. I like to call it smart training which optimises the precious amount of time I can get on line. TBH it pays to be efficient especially when i want to train a skill and keep the quest cape. I can then get on with the quest and get back to making MONEY.

Clue Scrolls, still worthwhile doing?
Had clue off Aviancies about six weeks ago still not done it. Last three or four have been poor rewards, but there's always the off-chance of something good which is why i'll never drop em. I spose what really bugs me is the clothing requirements: stand in Ardougne and blow a raspberry at the Baker whilst wearing superman top, England shorts and a knotted hanky on your head.......... w/e :?

Aviansie hunting
My advice is to get 70 range before you venture in, otherwise pot up with a range pot. I Take: Saradomin coif (archer helm) Black Dragon hide top and legs (or next best) Snakeskin boots Barrows gloves (or next best / drag-hide vambs) Zammy Book Rune XBow Mithril bolts Fury (Sara holy symbol) Ava's Accumulator (Cape) I also take 5 pray pots, 2 range pots, Holy Wrench, 10 swordies, high alch runes, teletab, 2 leeches, Summoning pot. (Some people tank up and take more food and a burden familiar to carry more food which dispenses with the need to pray but imo my way still proves to be profitable enough). This method means i can make 180-200 kills, come out with 160-180 addy bars plus 80-100k alched, usually in 2 hours or less. You might get half of that loot with your current level and the gear in brackets. i also charge up at the O'oglog pools before i tele to Trollheim. This keep the Bandos monsters at bay for the duration. You need protection from Zammy, Sara and Bandos creatures. you want the Armadyll birdies to attack unless you don't pray, in which case you need the Armadyll pendant. Good luck.

16 January 2008 - Summoning balancing
I've read through most of the posts on the general discussion and all of the posts on this thread. I could have quoted two or three people but I choose this one as the most succinct. 1. I cannot believe that Jagex spent months and months perfecting this skill only to half the price of one of its ingredients within the first 24 hours. Surely they saw that one coming. 2. To attempt to justify the change by a nonsensical break-even argument is, well just insulting. 3. Charms!? what's all that about? These items must be the only untradeable monster drops. (Care to contradict?) Missed opportunity For some reason Jagex has turned a capitalist economy into a communist one. With this new skill everybody is equal and the theory is that nobody should be able to 'buy' the skill. Well, excuse me, this is still gonna cost megabucks and with no obvious immediate return on the captial invested. Here's the rub: why not make charms tradeable? this is how a progressive economy functions. Supply and demand. Those who have invested time and effort to make money can now reap the rewards. It also allows those of us who are looking for profitable returns to sell off our hard gotten gains for a tidy profit if we're smart enough to sniff out where those opportunities lie. Another option would have been to introduce Life Runes to summon your familiar - too late. Easy Money If you ever read the old forum threads it was littered with newbies asking the same question. "how can I make money quickly?" Even in the game people would come up to me and ask how I made enough for a Dragon Chain. Well the simple answer was, there was no easy way, just smart training. In my case herblore. Buy herbs collect seconds sell pots, invest profit back into more herbs etc etc. TBH the only easy money was RWT but who took that route. Certainly not me! Conclusion In summary then, this could have been the opportunity for Jagex to make up for the loss of profitable trade which the other skills once offered. All trade is now dead, all profit is now impossible. Grind out Mith Drags comrade?

Reapairing Gravestones.
Rather than it being rude not to repair a gravestone, I think it's good gamesmanship to make the repair and in my experience that's down to the individual. Not all players like to be nice. As for a reward, I repaired one guys grave until he came back and he recovered his clue scroll. (Cave Horrors) After about an hour he announced his reward was 3rd Age Legs. Grateful - nope! Small reward of thanks - nope! I lost my Dragon Chain in the same place and for sure, if someone had repaired my stone they would have been rewarded handsomely. :? Reward of 3-30k? In the case of a recovered D. Chain, yeh! 30k every day (Or max equivalent) for a week my friend. However this was on Xmas Eve last year :( and the reward would have been 1 Mill I reckon.

New eggs being introduced for summoning

Tip.it Times Presents: What the heck was THAT?
All of the people that I speak to in and out of the game are devastated by what has happened. They cannot believe that the Wilderness is no more. I've read Jagex explanation about why they changed the Wildy and it still doesn't make sense - did I miss something? 1) Fairly early on, we hit upon the idea of letting the players themselves disrupt attempts to real-world trade in the Wilderness. After all, you can attack other players in the Wilderness anyway so, if a trader goes into the Wilderness with the intention of transfering some items to a cheat, all we need is a nearby PKer to kill them both and it solves the problem nicely (as well as being good fun/reward for the PKer who gets the stuff!). The Wilderness is rather big, however, and it was possible for real-world traders to find a remote corner to commit their crimes. Didn't / couldn't RWT take place anywhere? Why take GP into the Wildy anyway? Removing the Wildy as it was doesn't solve the issue of RWT taking place per se. Solution: Ban GP >3K into the Wildy. Problem solved. My issue is this: is there a skill which is unaffected by PKer changes? Personally: Herblore ~ I have 200 super sets I cannot sell them now. I made my money that way and made good profits to be able to buy full drag', Guthans, Fury, D-Axe etc etc. Friends: Runecraft ~ selling Nats to high alchers to increase mage level for PK. Is there still a trade? Woodcutting ~ sell mage logs for high alching to increase mage level. As above. Fishing ~ sell sharks to PKers for fighting. No more trade? Crafting ~ sell strength ammys to PKers, Glories to Nat runners. Still viable? I could go on.... The economy as we knew it is dead! A new economy will emerge but I haven't yet figured out how to make money in it. GP allows you to buy those items which helps you achieve quests, kill monsters, look good! GP and the RS economy make the game worthwhile. Take that away and you're left with skilling for no purpose. Two things: 1. If you've figured out a legitimate way to make GP please tell me. 2. If you plan to quit, I'll have your stuff. Be Lucky.

The New Year Update
I like your logical / cryptic analysis of the update. My views: 1. Day / night idea appeals to me 2. Addy Dragons :? / Rune Dragons :o / Dragon Dragons  3. New skill, possibly a new combat skill 4. Make the game fit the screen perhaps? (That would be good!) 5. Seafaring - possibly skills and or quests related to a sea based theme, build your own ship and battle it out. W00T!

My story of team lurers.
A level 44 with a blue phat *alarm bell rings* Good job dude! You risked your santa he risked his fire cape. All is fair in the wildy even though nowadays his actions were deemed to be unfair. You got the spoils and prevented him from retrieving the cape - serves him right, lmao. Best vid i've seen (soz can't remember where) lurers tempting a player with purple phat into wildy. Person with phat taking the pee out of the lurers stepping in and out of the wildy - haha can't catch me-ee. Next step, entangled, iced, dead. oops!

Question: Least-Admirable Skill Cape
I'll throw in my opinion for what it's worth. Any 99 skill takes time and committment. My Bro' is going for 99 Fletching but he is getting bored and he's only lvl 84. You gotta want it! As for me Herblore is my favourite skill and my highest at 85. It seems to have taken FOREVER. I can't imagine ever getting to 99. Can it be bought? well I think herblore is self-funding and even profitable if you're smart. You have to reinvest the income to generate more investment captial. I admire Corien cos she was dedicated enough to get all the way to 99 herb. Gratz babe!

??~~??Most Annoying P2P Quest??~~??
I have to give my vote to Mourning Ends Part 2 for its outrageous time wasting element. Underground pass completed with 25 agility! (ok i fell a lot) a classic quest - more of the same please! Monkey Madness was awesome, RFD tedious, Desert Treasure superb challenge, One Small Favour funny second only to My Arm's Big Adventure - hilarious.

Herblore from 40-45 and on
At this level, go to Yanille and train on the Chaos Druids there. Depedning on your agility, you can also swing across the monkey bars and kill the lower levels for speed. They also drop vials and seconds. Depending on how patient you are, I suggest a couple of hours for 10 days should give you mountains of herbs to convert. If you want to carry on training herb, keep all unids and use them when you reach the required level. At CB level 91, I suspect you have some GP available, so the quick way is to buy Harralanders 1k ea. (Check forums or pm me). Chocolate, Goat Horn and Red spider Eggs are easy to get in quantity so you just need the Harras and vials. Hope this helps.

Black Mask
Andylax38 wrote: Nice analogy, I like it. Masterben92 wrote: I think this is a valid point. Jagex probably judge the value of the drop in alch value, certainly not RS ecnomic value as this would be impossible to keep track of. There is a ring you can wear but it's a bit hush-hush. The secret services have been testing it for a few months now and.... "What???" "Really???" Oh dang! I suck at this. Forget everything you just read. :-#

Black Mask
It took me ages to get a black mask from the cave horrors but after six hours also wearing a ring of wealth I finally got one. W00T! In my experience you get better drops if while your character has on it's black mask, ring of wealth etc, you can improve your chances of a good drop by wearing an aluminium foil hat while playing RS. I made my own. This prevents Jagex from reading your thoughts and interfering with your computer. You do have an aluminium foil hat don't you?
