Just because you don't like someone's music does not mean that they are not talented. I do not like country music whatsoever, but I know that it takes a lot of skill to play a Slide Guitar and I can definitely appreciate it. Whether you want to admit it or not, Slipknot has a few of the most talented musicians in all of music right now. They're not the best, but they are very talented nonetheless. Last time I checked, they didn't make a custom line of snare drums or a custom signature Vic Firth drumstick after "average" drummers. Or the fact that Corey Taylor headlines 2 of the most popular rock bands in music business. Or that Mick Thompson owns his own guitar shop in Des Moines, IA and has been giving lessons there since before he was in Slipknot. Have you listened to his sweep-picking solos before? He is a very talented musician. Get off your high horses for once and appreciate musicians that perform something that your oh-so-refined taste buds in music aren't used to listening to.

Do I really need to put the "/sarcasm" in front of everything I say? I was arguing the other side of the point to prove it false, which it obviously is.

Hooray for blanket satements. Radioactive waste is harmful. Nice ovservation there; way to take something completely out of context. You know I'm starting to think you don't really know what you're talking about. You cite no sources but your own personal knowledge, and you just make outlandish accusations that have already been proven false by tested research. You're correct, it isn't harmful. AT ALL.
-
See I don't mind debating with you whatsoever, it's just the people that really have not done any research or have not been educated formally on this topic at all that REALLY anger me. So I apologize if I seem caustic at times. I posted the Wikipedia article earlier, and in it had a type of radioative waste that they dumped. Now this was very low-grade radioactive material; the type that normally comes from an average size nuclear power plant. This type of waste is not harmful even when exposed (such as your barrel exploding reference) to the water table. The amounts of hazardous material in this "radioactive waste" is actually very small. Check out the article if you haven't already.

I didn't think he'd put two Indiana Jones movies in there :x I was thinking that one right off the bat!
-
What the hell kind of reasoning is that? Let's not do this because our laws on it will surely be broken... I'm thinking people must be under the impression that super-humans are running these plants and obviously do not have any problems absorbing the massive amounts of radiation into their bodies. And they obviously don't live near the plants either, so why would they care if the radation was dumped into the local river or buried in a local field? The reason for no one EVER getting sick or dying from nuclear plants is because they take the radiation so far away from human civilization that it would take thousands of years to seep through the ground to even have minimal effects on humans.

Every person should know the uses and benefits of knives. Non-lethal ones to humans of course. My dad taught me a lot of it when I was 8 or so. We would go camping; it's amazing what you can do with a knife.

[hide=]quote Barihawk [/hide] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Environmental_effects_of_nuclear_power (Scroll to the part about "radioactive waste") I completely understand where you're coming from, but you have to realize that there are hundreds of sanctions, laws, and restrictions regarding nuclear ANYTHING. The government is not going to let Nuclear Power Plants just dump their waste in the river without regard. There would be very serious repercussions to any unsanctioned dumping of radioactive material. Jesus christ, I live 30 miles from a nuclear power plant! Red Wing, MN. Look it up. THERE HAVE BEEN ZERO DEATHS OR SICKNESSES FROM THIS PLANT.

Muahaha

I'm sorry, but why the hell do you need everything spoon fed to you? Go find this stuff on your own. Ah well, I guess I'll find it for you: http://www.heartland.org/Article.cfm?artId=16809 http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9502E7DD1330F937A2575BC0A962958260 ARE YOU CONVINCED YET? Nuclear power is the way to go. There is not one reason why not to other than that people are stubborn, old-fashioned, and cannot commit to any type of change.

Really? Wow that's pretty amazing. He seems like such a nice, honest songwriter. And yeah you're from the same area he retreated to in his cabin aren't you? (Wisconsin). Thanks for the recommendation with Kings of Convenience. Yeah I live about 40 miles from Eau Claire, WI which is where he (Vernon) and my teacher grew up. We're located directly between EC and the Twin Cities (Minneapolis & St. Paul, MN) so it's go to either place for the mall or shopping. We're constantly in EC doing things and my teacher called me up one day and asked if I wanted to meet him, so I did. As to where his cabin is, I do not know. I have a general idea, but not for sure. He said 60 miles north of EC in one interview I saw. That's not too far for a cabin; mine is at least 100 or more miles north. -
Sooo many people ignoring magekillr's post. Mage, you had a very well-informed post that pretty much sums up all there is to know about nuclear power. :D

The way the article described it, it was just some mild stomach bug. Who knows if that's just a blanket statement for all the cases though.

I watched that and American Psycho back to back with my friends last year. Creepiest night of my life.

V for Vendetta? Haha, if you're not thinking of that movie, it certainly happens in it. It even happened in the UK which is why I thought of it right away.

Scary stuff. V for Vendetta time? :D

Beat me to it. His stuff is just, sublime. Also Fleet Foxes, their harmonies are so beautiful and powerful. My high school history teacher from sophomore year and who I'm very good friends with now is one of Justin Vernon's best friends. I've met him several times \ If you like harmonies and acoustic music, check out Kings of Convenience. -
I'd say because Slipknot has about 50x more talent in every musician than there was in all the musicians in Stone Sour, and because he grew up with these guys. If you watch the interviews from the Voliminal DVD, Slipknot is more than just a band to them, it's the reason why they act the way they do on stage and the reason why Slipknot has kept every original member since the beginning of the band; a feat most bands cannot do of that size.
-
Just for reference, this album is going to be more experimenting with melody and acoustic things too as Corey Taylor has previously stated. It's not going to be fast and heavy all the time.

Sorry, but why would the price go up? If you gave me an Ebay link I might understand the logic here... Isn't this commercially avaliable? True, but since he has died, a lot of people are going to want these. If they stop producing them, prices will go sky high considering that is all his stuff in one collection.
