  1. I understand what you mean, but if you perform the same scenario over and over again, even chaos would get predictable. At least that's what I believe, looking at radioactive decay. The process is completely random and stochastic, but in large numbers predictable. Nice storyline idea btw :)
  2. Why no friese flag D:! Or anything history related? But why something furry? Bwah, Keith just owns! I like the webcomic and wanted to do something different this time. Maybe I can fix it so it shows all three... EDIT: This better?
  3. Is this okay? I don't mind where you put me. Great poject by the way :
  4. Hey that was my topic  btw I think this guy is right: The new skill will be F2P, and all the F2P skills are taught on Tutorial Island right?
  5. Wow, how come I didn't notice this topic for so long? This is great! As with all RuneScape lore, nobody has it right all the time. Not even me, with my fancy 'historian' title. Lore and information is perceived differently by different people, and sometimes even the lore itself isn't consistent. But if we place the facts next to each other we can at least know what is right and what is wrong. I won't sum up every fact of every God right now, instead I will talk and speculate a little about the main Gods. So these are not all facts. I agree with Rien_Adelric when he says the gods probably aren't purely what their 'element' says they are. Saradomin for example has a strong preference for Order, but that doesn't stop him from being much more, doing much more. And even in that area of order, there are gradients. I can see Armadyl, as the god of Justice, prefering order above chaos too, although on the other hand, what is fairer than chaos (aka chance)? But that's beside the point. All the Gods apparently have one defining property, which is either a big or a small portion of who they are. Point is, that we don't know the Gods personally, and they can't interfere with us personally. So the only thing we know of them is that one defining property. We can all more or less agree with each other that Saradomin is the "God of Order". He has called himself much more in the God Letters, things like the God of Wisdom or Light, but I don't trust those titles. Order is what he yearns for the most, and he is prepared to kill for it. Just look at the holy crusades that are launched in his name to eradicate chaos in this world. I think the reason that most of the benign people of this world see Saradomin as the God of Goodness is because life depends on order. If we look at the world of Gielinor we see that both logic and magic are represented. Humans, Dwarves, Gnomes (for the most part) and the flora and fauna of RuneScape are based on logic. Physics, chemistry, biology, it all works. On the other side, there are races like Elves, the Mahjarrat and Vampires. They depend on magic. Humans see order as beneficial, and chaos as destructive. Therefore, Saradomin can be regarded as a benign God, and Zamorak as evil. Besides, large portions of the Saradominist following know little of the Gods themselves, and only know what they are told. Most of the magic races do not follow Saradomin. Whether this is a coincidence or not you must decide for yourself. The reason most people see Zamorak as evil is of course not just based on the fact he represents chaos. His personality is one of ruthlessness, survival of the fittest and using others for his own personal gain. Many traits that are looked down upon by most, but the ones that admire those beliefs will follow him. His following therefore, the visible and psysical part of Zamorak, is one of evil. Exception may be made for some of the Dagon'Hai monks, for they understand that chaos is necessary while not being explicitly evil. And now for Guthix, my favourite God. He can be seen as True Neutral, to the point he does not understand the concepts of good and evil. All he sees are two parties and a chance for the balance to be disrupted. So he will either help or damage the parties to ensure that balance is maintained. In that sense he is perhaps the most enlightened of the main Gods, because he sees that Order and Chaos cannot exist without each other. But again Rien_Adelric has something interesting to say: Even Guthix himself isn't fully impartial, because he sometimes favours life over death. He created life on Gielinor by populating it with many races, and I believe Guthix wouldn't want to give up his little project so lightly. But those things are of minor influence on his philosophy, and in my eyes he truly can be named the God of Balance. All in all the image of a God is a very relative case, and we mortals cannot even begin to fathom their ways. [/wall of text]
  6. For me quests are the most fun part of the game. True, I play a minigame once in a while, and there are some skills I really enjoy training, but all that is nothing to me compared to quests. And now that I've completed every quest in the game apart from While Guthix Sleeps, I've retired for the most part. Without quests the game just seems a whole lot less fun. My retirement is temporary of course, because no matter what happens, new quests will come out. In my first days of questing I used quite a lot of guides, mainly because I didn't know much about the members world. But I matured and became familiar with the game, and now I never use a guide for a quest. To me it just spoils the fun of it. Guides speed up quests yes, but if quests are what you enjoy, do you really want to speed them up?
  7. Good job Excl, please give the guys @ Jagex the regards of Tipit. I wanna see how good they know us :P.
  8. Wow, indeed an amazing find! To my knowledge it's something new, not something from an existing quest. There are currently only two underwater areas (one from RFD, the other at Dragontooth Island), and it looks like neither of them. It just doesn't look like anything we've encountered before, so it must be new. It's strange really, to find an underwater area next to the GWD. It can happen of course, with melting water and all, but I don't really see that happen. Probably the cave is situated somewhere else, and it's just placed next to the GWD because it was convenient. It can be the Ritual site, but that isn't underwater. It looks like the ancient Cavern, maybe it has something to do with that? Some explorer notes already pointed out water flows out of the Baxtorian lake while none seems to flow in it... So something's weird with the water there. Anyway, good work all.
  9. I'd like to thank Lady Heinous for keeping up the hyt chat, for always saying "hi historian" to me when I enter it and just for being such hawt stuff. I'd like to thank Olly for being leet but at the same time answering any question you ask. I'd like to thank the whole TET Crew with organizing such fine events every week, and with such dedication. I'd like to thank Fast Falkon for some good times in the past, although she most likely quit a few years back and won't read this. I'd like to thank the whole hyt chat for always being there with their weird sense of humour, which made me laugh out loud on numerous occasions. I'd like to thank N_odie for the beautiful headband he gave me ages ago, at a drop party where I got nothing. I still have it by the way. I'd like to thank Axe Man Jack for his awesome Slayer Guide, which has helped me through my first Slayer days. I'd like to thank Sugar for the conversations both on and off RuneScape. I'd like to thank the maker of this topic for making me feel the love. And last but not least I'd like to thank the whole of Tipit for making RuneScape and my life a whole lot more fun! :
  10. I voted for Excl, and it seems a lot of others agree with me. He had many, different jokes, and tried to keep everything moving with a nice pace (not that he had a choice really, with the 2 min max and all, but anyway...). His voice acting was superb, and he satirized a couple of typical RS vids like pk- and grind videos. All in all a winning combination with good overall quality. P.S. I must say the Riverdance video was really good too, with expert timing and editing. And due to constant changes in location and framechange it never became boring for me. It did miss out on jokes, story or dialogue for that matter, so Excl won my vote. Glad to see people thinking the same way.

Timmos, I fully agree with you, and I have nothing to add to your opinion on the matter.
  12. Yes. Gotta love that story line. I forgot to add a sequel to the Gnome Series, I would add to Dwarves' but that one doesn't attract me that much Luckily there are hints for sequels to almost all of those storylines, except WGS and the Gnomes.
  13. The book you mean is called "Exploration of the Eastern Realm", and is written by an Elven scribe. Therefore, the eastern area they refer to is actually the kingdom of Kandarin.
  14. If Jagex ever plans to make a Runescape movie, I don't think it will be a huge disaster. Runescape has some pretty decent storylines like the Ghostly Robes one mentioned above, and movies like LotR prove the genre isn't dead yet. People shouldn't look at it as the game being made into a movie, but instead as a storyline being made into one. Large parts of the game won't make it to the movie anyway, like grinding, noobs, inventory issues, xp/gp ratios, nerf riots etc. etc.!
  15. Yes, but according to Guthix in the god letters, the world had been primarily made of rune escence, which would give jagex the perfect way to create a new rune mine. :shame: Where does it say this?
  16. Just came back from a holiday, and I have to say guys: Nothing beats 14 pages full of RuneScape related riddles slowly getting decoded!
  17. The Eastern Lands have been mentioned multiple times by several npc's in RuneScape, and even by Reldo in the Postbag. Ak-Haranu on the docks of Port Phasmatys talks about it as his home, and the cyclopes from the Warrior's Guild are said to have been brought from that area by Harrallak Menarous. San Fan too, found at the Trouble Brewing minigame, comes from the lands to the East, according to her examine. Furthermore, the Mysterious Old Man acquired his mysterious box there, as the people of the Eastern Lands are known as master toymakers and craftsmen.
  18. Nice, I hope a lot of Mining will be involved in this storyline, just to hear those thousands of people whine who've been ignoring Mining for years !
  19. sacrifice the baby mahjarrat? :ohnoes: I think the baby would be too weak for them to harvest any worthwile amount of power.
  20. [hide=] Who said Zamorak was ever human? various rs history articles??? Zamorak was NEVER human. He was a Mahjarrat who came to Gielinor along with all the other Mahjarrats fromp Frenneskae. I thought he was a human commander of Zaros' army, I think one of the ghosts of the shade robes miniquest tells this. The human commander is someone else who fought alongside Zamorak. But I can't remember if it was one of the people who directly went to fight Zaros, or just helped in the war or something. The last ghost in the Ghostly Robes miniquest was actually the only human in Zamoraks personal guard, back in Zaros' days. [/hide] Just to clear everything up: * Zamorak once was a Mahjarrat, and is now a God * Zamorak is not and has never been human * The single human found in Zamorak's honour guard is Viggora, the last ghost in the Ghostly Robes miniquest * Viggora fought alongside Zamorak during his battle with Zaros Besides that, I've just done the quest and think it's really cool. The possibility that Kharshai may be Koschei the Deathless is interesting, and I agree with the people who suspect Ali the Wise is really Wahisietel. I too noticed how slumped he stands, and even the Knowledge Base states he's a curious fellow. Oh, and Mahjarrat can reproduce just like other mortals. Zemouregal himself wrote that he asked Enakhra to mate with him, but she rejected. Getting kids is easy, the hard part is living forever by sacrificing others.
  21. The three houses in the 'night' pictures look a bit different if you compare them to the first one. As someone before me said, there sits a crow on the roof, the straw looks a lot more shabby, and some sort of fence has appeared on top. Also, some kind of climbing plant is creeping up a support, not visible in the first pic, and the white walls of the second floor appear older. By the way, I walked past the house in Lumby, and it seems this pic shows an updated version, with crooked walls instead of straight ones.
  22. Just a random level. [hide=][/hide] It surprises me every time how I can keep mining for days without getting bored at all. Must be a genetic disorder .
  23. Those were thumbnails of possible concepts for the agile armor which has already been released. I doubt it. No one said the boat hinted towards Eastern Lands, Napalm_Death thought the 'Asian looking armour' did. But I agree it looks almost identical to Agile armour, so it won't be a future update. And on the boat being Eastern Lands - where did this come from? We see an updated building for what seems to be the fishing guild and all of a sudden we've got "OMG BOAT - HINT AT EASTRN LANDS PLZ??". It's a freaking boat, there's plenty of them across RuneScape. I never said the boat having anything to do with the Eastern Lands... And where did you take that info that those armours were concepts for the agile armour? Do you even know what the Agile top and bottom look like? They both have knee pads just like these do and the tops look exactly the same except without the little green thing in the middle of the chest. It's the agile top and bottom. Case closed, end of story. not to be an uniformed nub -.- but wtf are agil top and bottoms >.< rouge stuff? < i have feeling thats not wht u think [/hide] @jcube No, agile armor. It came with the release of the Extended Agility Courses. @Napalm Death I never said you did. It was a reply to other statements of people saying the boat may mean Eastern Lands/Kudos Island. No one said the boat hinted towards Eastern Lands. Napalm_Death only thought the 'Asian-looking armour' did. But I agree, it looks almost identical to the Agile armour, so it won't be in any future updates.
  24. I always like these pictures from Jagex, they're really nice And now for the speculation! #1 Concept art for some new or existing town. Written at the top is something about a 'Goblins Cave', which makes me think it's at for the Fishing Guild. But it could just as well be for a new place, or Port Sarim, Piscatoris, etc.. #2 When I first saw it at Runehq, which got it a day earlier, I thought it could be updated Barrows Armour, But new armour from the new Slayer monster could be it too. It doesn't really look like Barrows anyway... #3 Bards, nothing to it. #4 This one I find quite interesting. Looking at the scenery, it could only be either Morytania, the Wilderness, or some new place. The latter could of course always be, but difficult to speculate about. If it's placed in existing lands I think it will come with a sequel to Rag and Bone Man. Ties in with number 5. #5 Some kind of reanimated monkey skeleton. It could be nothing more than an update to the Ape Atoll monkeys, but I have another theory. Looking at his paw, we see some kind of fuzzy handcuff. Now, if you've completed Rag and Bone Man, you can still read his wish list. It states he is searching for 'non-chafing manacles', which is roughly the same as confortable handcuff... right? So maybe the Odd Old Man is planning to combine all the bones you've fetched for him into some kind of monkey thing, and he's going to lock it up in the pen seen in image #4. #6 Quite obviously a few tests with evening and night. Very interesting, even if it's still far away.
  25. Jagex's invisible surveillance hut? :ohnoes: I belive that is where the ghost music guy that you can restore run energy at is sitting. He's also a poet if I remember right. But that might be a totaly different location. The ghost musician is near that location, but that has nothing to do with it. I think it's just a square with a malfunctioning 'lighting'. I get it sometimes too, the square flashes between normal colour (as in disengaged lighting effects) and colour affected by lighting effects if you move the camera around.
