  1. Because they spend their money differently than you do? Because thay have that sort of money to waste! In my family that money would go towards food and bills, not some stupid clothes! It's throwing away money when there are cheaper alternatives. Some people can't appreciate that the money they can waste on non-essentials (big plasma screen TV anyone? New PS3 and a stack of Blue Ray DVDs?), is the sort of money that people would die for... I resent that. Although I do admit to buying a new T.V. (26" at around £200), mostly because the one I had for years was hitting breaking point. Okay sure, I have a PS3 (£300), and I do spend a bit on CDs (over £100 so far) and blu-rays (about £70), and I am not going to factor in PS3 games and DVDs. Anyway the point is, I had the money to spare. This was all bought over time. Sure they're non-essentials, but don't [bleep] judge people because they can afford these things. (Although I certainly buy my clothes cheap and they last for awhile.) I suppose it's fair enough when you DO have the money to spare, but some people act like everybody has that money to spare. Also it's people that don't have the money but waste it on crap like that that annoys me I guess. I tend to rant on about money, I resent people that have it because I don't :P Racheya hit the nail on the head. It's not so much the person that sickens me, just the fact that they flaunt their excess cash in such a meaningless way. There are 1000 other things that that money could be spent on. And spending thousands upon thousands of dollars on clothes just seesm kind of superficial after a while. Some people understand this and do it anyway, which if they have the money to do and the maturity not to be a jerk about it I don't care much about it. It's the people that flaunt their money all over the place that piss me off.
  2. You mean illegal downloading is illegal? Who knew. Stupidest way to get arrested/fined for sure. Shame that they took out the heads of such a popular source, but I guess someone had to take the fall. Whatever, this won't effect anybody really. We all know illegal downloading is wrong, and yet I guarentee that 90% of the users on the forum are guilty of it. They can't catch us all right?
  3. +1 whether you were kidding or not, I agree with this statement. Humans are what make life suck. Without them, it'd be perfect.
  4. I hope Ax600's parents understand that they are causing twice as much damage as they were trying to prevent. Perhaps you should point this out to them? You can keep trying to fight the good fight, but in the end, you have very little power of your parents. I applaud you and your planted porn though. Made me lol. Thisis a relationship thread, and this problem, although brought by a girl seems to be rooted at Ax600's relationship with his parents. Obviously that relationship needs work, and fighting isn't going to help it. They seem to be rather unreasonable, and it's really Ax600's decision whether or not it's even worth trying to connect with them. I sure as hell wouldn't. Good luck with all this crap, man. Sounds like you're going to need it.
  5. Fashion is too expensive for me. I love the clothes at Hot Topic, but...$60 for pants? psh. I stick to Target and Khols for my clothes. Target has some cool shirts that could be labeled as "punk" with some throw backs to the old "skater" look. Khols I usually just get pants at. Nice pair of jeans for $15. My daily outfit (including shoes) never exceeds $70. And I recently just blew $30 on Converse (I spoiled myself). People who wear $200 outfits sicken me. But yeah, mall stores are usually grossly over priced. An item here or there won't kill anybody, but I say stick to Target and/or Walmart. Especially if fashion isn't important to you. If it is...by all means, go to the mall and run up daddy's credit bill.
  6. [hide] That is the most [developmentally delayed] advice I've ever heard. Are you [bleep] serious? Telling him to act more gay will make the 'bullying' a lot worse. Best advice in this entire damn thread. Also good to stalk on Myspace and Facebook and photoshop his pics with ejaculating [roosters], and post them all over school and even photoshop his face onto gay porn pics like in that South Park episode. You may think I'm trying to be funny, but this is full serious. This is the best thing you can do, assuming this 'bullying' continues. You can bring him down in ways you can't imagine. Imagine how good it would feel to see him crying on the ground when everyone laughs at him. See him squirm as all the jocks beat the crap out of him. He'll be the new homo kid, and you'll be relinquished of that title. Are you even registering this? You should take all I'm writing into full consideration. I'm sensing some hostility and anger. voice> Actually, I agree a lot with deathdrow on this one, although not to the extent of ruining him socially for the rest of his life. Honestly, playing his game is the only way to take him down. [/hide]Although effective, that's a bit sinister. And the social repreccusions are immense. Sure no one will mess with you, but who wants to talk the guy that destroyed the bully? If overdone, you could be labeled creepy and anti social, spiteful and much more. In moderation, it would be a decent idea though. Perhaps tag a shooped photo of him on Facebook. Any more than that seems a bit much though.
  7. I've never even so much as gotten a detention. I've earned my parents trust. I guess. But I still have to be home by 9pm (excluding Fri and Sat). I'm 17 damn it. I still feel like i get treated like I'm 5 every now and then, but that's life. In the end, I'm probably better for it. I actually perfer it over having parents that just don't give a crap. Kids with parents like that tend to be rather bad. My ego problem converts that stereo type into making me feel better about myself.
  8. Wouldn't call him a bully so much a [male organ]. Yeah, he is bullying you a bit, but after his audience losses interest in the jokes made at your expense, then he'll probably stop. The most passive way out of this would be to wait until someone else gets caught doing something humiliating. An agreesive way out would be to make sure its this guy.
  9. :jawdrop: I would very much like to deliver to your aprents a swift kick to the [wagon]. I've read your story and this is just taking it way too far. I've seen some overbearing and insane parents (even met a few) but this ranks pretty high on my "screwed up" scale. My advice to you is to stand up for yourself against them. I see that you already yelled at them, and we'll see how that pans out. Dude though, If I were you, I'd get emancipated. Parents should NOT have that much influence on their child's love life (in such a manipulative manner, anyway). I do see them as trying to protect you, but that sure as hell was not the right way to do it. Not only did they hurt you, but they more than likely just hurt a potentially unstable teenage girl. There are few things worse than that.
  10. I consider myself decent at math (Currently in an honors precalc class). But these proofs just seem off to me, and i refuse to believe that .9999... is equal to 1. .9repeating is as close to 1 as you can get without actually being 1. Just like you can't properly convert some fractions into decimals. (1/3) is understood to be represented as .3333...., so by adding (1/3)+(1/3)+(1/3), in decimal form is .9999... , but fractionally it equals (3/3) or, 1. So I say that fractions are more accurate and should be used. Decimals, although jsut another form of fractions, should be left to the obsolete computers that can't handle fractions. Just like how leaving the root symbol in an answer is more accurate than trying to calculate all the decimals. .999... can be ROUNDED to 1, fine. But it can never equal it.
  11. Between what ages is "middle school"? Over here, we only have elementary (called primary) and high school. Ages 11-14 Technically that just shows of their interest in "hooking up" not "relationships" but your point is valid. Hooking up with people is different from having a relationship with a person.
  12. This. (is good advice) But now that you're in that situation you have a desicion to make. You have a history of having bad girlfriends. Its normal to fear the same thing from happening, and that's probably why you like this girl so much, because you were friends first, and with that comes trust. That's perfectly fine, but sometimes you're just going to have to bite the bullet and stick your neck out in the future. The "safe" choice" isn't always the best. If this girl likes you back, go for it. If not...do yourself a favor and just move on and continue it as a friendship.
  13. Seeing those images brought tears to my eyes. Of course I'd add a few...but, I can't take that trip down memory lane at the moment. Born '92. I will never leave the 90's and the 90's will never leave me.

99% of all memes start on 4chan, or a similiar board (ie 711chan). All explanations and origins can be found (and presented in a highly humorous manner) on www.encyclopediadramatica.com so if you're ever at a loss as to why yelling "GARUGAMESH" is funny, or why cats have such awful syntax...just check the wiki.
  15. I know this thread is traditionally for romantic relationship advice but... I was thinking over my life today, and realized the majority of my firends have slowly disappeared. I still see them, but I don't really talk to them anymore. I also seem to be repulsed at the idea of making new friends. I see this as a problem, but does anyone have any idea how to solve it? Perhaps I'm too judgemental...
  16. This is right up there with that guy that raped and killed that baby frmo a few months ago. Humanity disgusts me.
  17. I think earings look really good on most people (girls and guys alike). Belly button piercings look amazing on some girls in my opinion, as do tongue piercings. My girlfriend says snake bites (the double lip ring deal) looks really good on most people, althoug I have to disagree. Hip piercings, skin corsets, and guages just look bad though in my opinion. I'm sure someone out there likes 'em though. I kind of like the new piercing trend, although I'd never partake in it.
  18. :twss: LOL I loved Jay's commet afterward:
  19. I have a similiar problem to No_99_Melee's early problem. His girlfriend moved to a different country. Mines potentialy moving 5 states south. Aproximatly a 10 hour drive. We're both Juniors, and she would be moving this summer, essentially cutting her away from her friends on her senior year. Not to mention myself. She's moving back with the rest of her family because college is cheaper in that state. The only reason why she lived up near me was because her grandmom lived up here, and she died recently, and now I'm mostly why she still lives locally. Unfortunatly her mom can't take living here much longer and is dying to move back in with her ex-husband (my girlfriends dad) to be in the lives of her two grandchildren. My girlfriends mom is miserable here and my girlfriend feels responsible. And I feel responsible for her having to choose. She has to choose between her happiness or her mothers, her friends or her family. And that is just too much. The only way out of it seems to be that my girlfriend finds a place to live while her mom moves back down south. This has it's issues in itself. If she moves down south, I may never see her again (which is gona be tough after being by her side everyday for the past year and a half). If she stays with her mom up here, she'll always feel guilty about making her mom feel miserable, and sad about missing the lives of her two nephews. If she stays and her mom goes, she'll practically be alone up here, and she'll still miss out on valuable family time. i want to help her through this decision, but...I have no idea what to do. Advice?
  20. What? DO IT you may also want to try digesting a roll of mentos with a liter or so of diet coke. (perhaps even some peroxide+baking soda+Mountain Dew?) Chemistry is fun.
  21. Despite the fairly large size of my school, it is basically a communist social network. There is no "popular" vs "unpopular". It's more like "neutral" vs "invisible". and then a hand full of the truly off the wall losers. I'd say about 85% land in the "neutral" zone. I'm happily in there.
  22. Economic Left/Right: -3.25 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.64 Just short of a Ghandi. Makes sense.

Did you read any of the earlier posts? Honestly I only skimmed them, but I got the gist of most counter arguments. 1) Pot is addictive. As of now, it's very much so because the dealers want you to keep buying. If govt regulated, this probably won't change much. They'll certainly take stuff like amonia and battery acid out though. But even if it wasn't full of nicotine or whatever, it is possible to be addicted to the feeling of being high 2) Pot does crap to your brain. That's why it's called being "tweaked". Some drugs can straight up rot holes in your brain. Pot may not do that specifically, but it does effect your energy levels and other hormone related things. This can not be changed, even if govt regulated 3) Pot makes you impotent/sterile. And who wants that? That would suck. 4) Medicine, although a drug, is used for healthy purposes. Just like any other drug, it can be used incorrectly and therefore just as dangerous as pot. Make this statement converse to hold true the other way around. 5) Most "positive" effects of pot are made up. Seriously. 6) Drugs will consume your money through inevitable addiction. Not good. 6a) some people truly don't get addicted, but...it's not all that common 7)Pot has long lasting effects whether you know it or not. Just cause you can't see them now doesn't mean you won't be able to in a decade or so. 8) smoking is all around unpleasant. 9) To field NOM_ANOR's point, merely the theory that human curiosity will take over and lead down the road to harder stuff. I can't asy it'll always happen, but...I'm sure it'll be frequent enough to make a point out of. 10) If we legalize it, the retract the decision...it'll end up like a gang version of the prohibition mess. anything else?
  24. Awesome news! :D This can only be beneficial for Tip.it and I'm sincerely happy. But I still have a bit of a grudge to hold so allow me to vent. Here's some pre-emptive feedback for Jagex: YOU'RE A BUNCH OF HYPOCRITS THAT RAN OUT OF ORIGINAL IDEAS You lost money due to macroers/cheaters so you took out real world trading. You were scared of merchants so you created construction to funnel out all that excess gp in the world. When that didn't work you created the Grand Exchange. Now you control the whole economy of Runescape don't you? This was then followed by the abolishment of the Wilderness to ensure there was no cheaters, therefore giving you more money. You then jacked up the prices of membership to make up for the fact that everyone quit. More people quit and as a last ditch effort, you agreed to listen to the pleas of your loyal fans. This resulted in Summoning as well as many otehr over powered BS that only the imagination of a preteen could come up with. In an attempt to recapture the attention of the public you decided to make F2p life not only easier, but full of much more content. You gave us more bankspace, new quests, and even minigames. I had fought for months upon months for these updates, but you never listened. It took until you ruined the game and forced thousands to quit to realize that you had to start listening. I am very agitated about all of this. That being said, I'd like to start a new leaf with Jagex. I am grateful for the creation of Runescape, and very glad you are indeed listening to feedback now. It's very appreciated. Especially the F2p stuff. I'd love to see more of that.

No. It's a gateway drug, and all though certainly the lesser of all evils regarding illegal substances, it's still a drug. It's illegal for a reason. Making it legal will only increase the amount of pot heads (unless the govt decides to tax the [cabbage] out of it). Smoking ain't healthy, and I think all forms of drug abuse should be abolished. This process will undoubtedly be slow, but I can wait. There's really no positive side to drugs.
