  1. Cave slimes. Faster, less boring, and you get XP and other drops. This should help.
  2. I will be stunned if this is not corrected in an update soon, probably this week.
  3. There's one of the void familairs that will raise your Mining +1 "visibly". But it's a pain to use (and expensive).
  4. My latest calculations show about 45k/hr Crafting XP, 27k/hr Magic XP and around 340k/hr profit. Overall a very nice activity.
  5. Prayer potions are not and never have been the most cost-effective way to train Herblore. I have an extensive guide to Herblore training trade-offs including real-time costs and item values on dozens of activities, on the members' portion of my site. Right now prayers appear to be well down the list. If you want some cost-effective ways of training prayer, try making Barbarian mixes (no "Make X" though), Serum 207, or lower-level potions with cheap ingredients like restore or energy pots.
  6. Once upon a time, Jagex put out a BTS where, among other things, they said "Hold on to your robin hood hats folks, because ... (something)" To anyone with a brain and a clue, this was just an obvious joking modification of "Hold on to your hats folks ...." To everyone else (seemingly about 75% of the RSOF) this was a CLEAR message from Jagex that robin hood hats were going to be made untradeable/rarer/whatever and they went nutso buying them and spreading rumors and so forth.
  7. There's a pretty substantial difference between saying Jagex will make game updates based on one person's suggestion, and suggesting they'd take specific action against that player's character.
  8. Trying to do the Brimhaven Agility thingie with armor yields significantly more failures. That said, this is one of the stupidest threads I've seen around here in a long time. If you use convoluted enough logic, you can find a way to link anything to anything, both in the game and real life.
  9. Uh, yeah, forget him.. not really worth it, IMO. You're better off buying keys and running them. As for Sorceress's Gardnen.. if there's a more annoying and less productive way of getting herbs in this game, I don't want to know what it is. :)
  10. No offense, but you're not that important. :) None of us is. FTR, I leveled Fishing from 82 to 90, and Mining from 77 to 85 there, and killed hundreds of them for minerals -- never seen one, ever.
  11. If you have money to spend, you're better off just buying the herbs. Maybe, maybe not. You also get a lot of other drops, and a ton of Ranging XP.
  12. Good old chaos druids are better than all of the above, except for passive methods like Farming and MTK that can be done in parallel. And if you have the $ to spend, cannoning spectres is best of all.
  13. In order to prove just how many people utterly miss the point of playing a game.
  14. Hey, if someone actually enjoys doing something weird, that's their business. But defining something as a "titanic labor" somewhat contradicts the idea of it being "fun". What exactly is fun about killing 2.7 million imps hoping one of them drops a scroll? Or grinding a skill to 200 million XP? Life's too short, IMO -- even for a gamer.
  15. At today's prices, that's really not true. They can be sold, if nothing else. Tarromins can be used to make very cheap Serum 207's for those on a budget. Marrentills are useful for prayer training and antipoisons are actually in decent demand these days. Herb tars lose a LOT of money.
  16. I agree that the line about 24 skills and 150+ quests shouldn't be in an ad that focuses on the F2P aspect of the game. But the rest of your criticisms and claims -- like debating whether or not F2P is "fun" -- are nonsense.
  17. Honestly, do you really think anyone cares about what you personally consider to be fun? If someone tries F2P and doesn't consider it fun, they can try P2P or play a different game. How does that justify you accusing Jagex of lying about the free game being free?
  18. Actually, what I really had in mind was "get a life", but even a different game would be a better option than mindlessly doing really stupid and boring things in RS once you're bored with it. :)
  19. The_Platypus: I feel confident you'll find *something* that appeals to you in my Moneymaking Guide. :)
  20. If you have to ask, you shouldn't try to do it.
  21. Seems to me that if you've gotten to the point where you have to invent ludicrous things to do just to say that you did them, perhaps it's time to find something else to do entirely.
  22. Anyone who knows me also knows that I have been one of Jagex's most consistent critics over the years -- but only when the criticisms make sense. These do not. Runescape F2P IS a free game. Jagex has every right to advertise it as a free game. The fact that there is also a superior pay version doesn't change the fact that the free version is, well, FREE. This method of marketing something is not Jagex's invention -- in fact, it's as old as the hills.
  23. Ice trolls ain't what they used to be. And with the sky-high prices of cannonballs these days, I'm not sure anywhere qualifies. But if there's a place you can do it, my guess would be aberrant spectres, due to the very high value of herbs right now. Use a macaw.
  24. They have been more profitable than ranarrs every day I have checked for the last two months -- until today, when ranarr seeds just happened to drop to the lowest price they've been in a couple of months. Ranarr seeds are also frequently merchanted up to ridiculous prices. On the whole, snapdragons are routinely the most profitable herb to farm. I know -- I track these things.
  25. There are minor fluctuations in prices that change the equation on a daily basis. But overall, snapdragons are nearly always better than ranarrs for money, and are always much better for XP.
