The world of successful companies is divided into two categories. The first consists of firms who do something well and when they become successful, continue to do what they are doing to cater to their loyal customers, even if it means sacrificing maximum potential growth. The second is comprised of corporations that, upon achieving success and fortune, realize that they can make even more money by watering down their formula to appeal to a larger audience. We all know which path Jagex has taken: the money. They are deliberately targeting children with this game, any website disclaimers or protests to the contrary. That said, I agree with those who said this article is way too pessimistic. There is still a LOT of fun stuff to do in the game, plenty of challenges, and a large number of good people -- if you seek them out. Sort of like everything in the real world -- gems among rubble. Start digging. Whining doesn't accomplish anything. ~q

You're probably fine, but yes, it IS illegal to mention site names. I am very careful not to mention tip.it or my own site or any others by name within the game. ~q

The problem with some of those maps is that your character only walks in the 8 cardinal directions (N, NW, W, SW, S, SE, E and NE). Won't walk in 60 degree angles or whatever. So you have to graph based on actually walking the path and seeing how the character walks. ~q

1. There are countless ways to spell around the censor. 2. There are countless types of offensive language that have nothing to do with profanity. ~q

It's done because of the lawyers, simple as that. Look up the COPPA laws. Meanwhile Jagex markets the game to pre-teens with their guidebook and turn a blind eye to it being spread throughout elementary schools. :roll: ~q

Believe it or not, some people have integrity and don't want to get resources from cheaters just because it costs them a bit less. ~q

No, threatening to quit over a theorized skill you know nothing about is "superlame". :) ~q

Jagex could take a big bite out of autobuyers simply by limiting how much you can buy from a store in any 24 hour period. It's clearly not a priority for them. ~q

What they are doing isn't new either. It's been around for months. You get a VERY clear warning with that spell that you're going to be teleported. It pays to heed warnings. ~q

The only tele-other spell that goes to the Wild is the Lunar spell, which is actually Tele Group Ice Plateau and is P2P. And it's not new by any means; I describe it in detail on my site. ~q

Anyone know what the drain rate is on this compared to say, a protection prayer? Thanks. ~q

Use a gold bar on a furnace with the appropriate mo(u)ld and cut gems in your inventory and it will give you the option. ~q

Veracs still works -- if you do it right and are prepared to deal with the damage. It costs less than ranging but is a bit slower including trips to restock. The best method I have found so far is a range/melee hybrid. ~q

Honoured, I think he was asking if sometimes the spec occurs when just using the weapon and not the armor. It doesn't. You need all 4 pieces. ~q

Most of the racist and bigoted stuff you encounter on RS is just immature little brats spewing nasty stuff to get attention. They don't generally have any clue what they are even saying. ~q

If you play RS for 14-15 hours a day -- you're addicted. ~q

Gosh, it must be nice for so many "experts" here to be able to just hand-wave off this REAL problem by saying "oh, the parents clearly just suck". Well sorry, but it's not that simple. Yes, in many cases the parents could be doing a better job. But there ARE serious addiction issues with online games, and they won't disappear just because you all want to stick your collective heads in the sand. But do keep fooling yourselves as long as that serves some purpose for you. ~q
