Why is Scamming against the rules? (A Disscusion, not a rant)
Attitudes like this are why the RS community now sucks. ~q

Why is Scamming against the rules? (A Disscusion, not a rant)
For the same reason that lying, cheating and fraud are illegal in every society ever created by mankind. If you even need to ask, you have some serious problems. ~q

S A N T A'S!
What do I think? I'm glad you asked. I think it's lame that people buy useless garbage items and then sit around worrying about whether they go up or down in price. ~q

Best single moneymaking skill?
I've already explained it, but running to all 5 herb patches, harvesting and replanting, takes less than 10 minutes. Each run harvesting snapdragons will make you around 140k. 1 hour of farming time is 6-7 runs. 7 runs of making 140k is 998k per hour. Even if you are only level 32 farming and grow ranarrs, you make around 600k in an hour of farming. That's NET profit. NET profit with runecrafting, ie factoring in essence costs, isn't even close to that until you have 91 runecrafting. Now, what's easier and faster to get - 32 farming or 75 runecrafting? 63 farming or 91 runecrafting? Exactly. Ergo, farming is the best moneymaking skill there is. Well, you're cheating a bit here. You're computing the total time required to actually do the farming, but not the wait time. You might be able to do 7 runs in 60 minutes, but those 60 minutes are spread out over 8 to 9 hours. So, farming is good in terms of money per hour actually doing the skill, but not per hour of elapsed time. The sad reality is that you can make more money doing mundane things than you can in most skills. ~q

The Economy: Current Rares
The pursuit of rares leads to a lot of the negative behavior in the game, due to players trying to raise ridiculous amounts of money for items. Scamming, luring, obsessive playing, market manipulation, cheating, verbal abuse, bullying -- it is not all related to rares, but a lot of it is. Any time you create a system involving social strata of "haves" and "have nots", what you get is problems. ~q

Farming, the least popular skill!
So, maybe we shouldnt get this thread back on topic and just keep it like this  Well, the original poster was pointing out that farming is unpopular and asking what Jagex can do about it. The answer is really "nothing", because it is unpopular due to the types of people towards whom Jagex markets its game. ~q

The Economy: Current Rares
If people really view getting a Burger King hat as a goal, then that's their choice. The problem is that they seem to think it should be a lifetime guarantee that their "wealth" will go up every month due to finding even stupider people to pay even more money for them later. Rares are a dysfunctional part of this game and responsible for a huge percentage of its problems. ~q

The Economy: Current Rares
Maybe rares are dropping in price because people are finally figuring out that they are completely useless crap that serves no function other than bragging, and they'd rather use their money to play the game? Probably not, but one can hope. ~q

Farming, the least popular skill!
Well here's one of your ten -- when I get a huge slayer assignment, e.g., kill a zillion fire giants, I've been known to take a couple baskets of strawberries. You can pack lots of healing into little inventory space. But they're no good against things like metal dragons, where you need lots of healing in one bite. Here's another one. They are also excellent for agility training, because they are small bites and weigh next to nothing. ~q

Farming, the least popular skill!
Again, to understand why and how farming is viewed, one must take into account that the vast, vast majority of Runescape players are immature children who do not understand much of anything. Once you keep that in mind, it all makes sense: - People who say farming is "boring" when it takes only a few seconds a few times a day, while those same people will stand in bank clicking bows for hours on end or killing 500,000 dust devils to maybe get a d chain, which is considered "not boring"? - People who say farming is "useless" while ignoring that it is an easy money maker; - People who say farming doesn't make good money, simply because they have never figured out the smart ways of doing it, yet think that truly pointless skills like fletching are "great money makers" even though they make virtually no money at all. The good thing is that the short-sightedness of most RS players is part of what makes farming lucrative to those who do it. ~q

Farming, the least popular skill!
Farming is the sort of skill that appeals to players who are smart and patient. And that's why 99% of Runescape hates it. ~q

Actually, they probably wouldn't. Or rather, they might, but they very well might not. That's one of the results of the simulation. ~q

Analysis of the Ring of Wealth
There seems to be a lot of confusion about the ring of wealth (ROW). In particular, many people seem to think that they should be able to notice a big difference in drop rates by putting one on. However, when dealing with random, rare events like whip drops from abyssals, an increase in the chance of something occurring is usually not noticeable. I decided to do a mathematical analysis of the probabilities to hopefully allow people to understand better why the ROW seems ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åuseless̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

Plank making- A sign of things to come?
The high spell cost is to offset the low XP you get from casting. /sarcasm It would be nifty if Jagex would bother actually getting PROPER players to test their new "features" so they could be told what utter crap they are before they foist them on the rest of us. ~q

Monster examine topic !
The max hits are likely only based on melee, which would explain Ahrim. ~q

Plank making- A sign of things to come?
The spell is useless because Jagex doesn't really understand how to make balanced updates any more. They are deathly afraid of making anything "too good", so they err on the side of making things "too bad". And it's nothing new. At least half of the Lunar spellbook is not worth the cost of casting, which is why Lunar was so little used in the first place. ~q

The next new skill
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I honestly wish they would spend more time fixing the broken and outdated skills we already have, rather than adding new ones. ~q

Decline In Fury Prices
Again.. what does it matter? Did you buy it to use it or to resell it? Everything in the game goes down in price except Burger King hats and other useless rubbish. ~q

Decline In Fury Prices
How much did you pay for your computer? How much is it worth now? Probably half as much, or less. Do you regret buying it, even though you have "lost money"? Probably not, because it wasn't an investment, it was something you bought to use. Same with equipment in RS. It doesn't matter what it is worth unless you bought it to resell (in which case, you should have known better.) ~q

why secure passwords are important
Oh, I think you're quite mistaken. Most people don't realize the importance of good passwords, and even if they do, have no real understanding of what makes a good password. I have some good information on my site about this: - Problems with Easily Guessed Passwords and Poor Password Management. - How to Choose a Good, Strong Password. ~q
