This is the guy who thought up the "Jagex creates quests to steal from people" conspiracy theory because he had problems with Regicide (I think). Move along, people.

Eh, nvm. Bottom line, the marriage event is stupid. -
I don't see how or why it could be any of the three options listed. Care to elaborate on how one-off, resource-hogging updates are good for the game? They are not bad for the game in any way (name one holiday event that ended up having a bad effect on the game and didn't introduce a tradeable holiday item). In addition, most tend to be pretty fun. They are a nice change from endless grinding and if you don't like them, you can go back to taking the soul out of Dungeoneering or something.

^Thank you. :)

Good job Jagex, you almost had me with that "serious BTS coming later today" part. Still, you ain't getting me. Terrible goddamn month, might as well stop updating RS if they really don't give a damn. Before one of you brainless bores comes here and tells me to stop complaining, here is a short list of things wrong with this (potential) update: Vengeance Other (another spell that will sway it all towards the elite players since it'll probably require like 97 magic, plus Veng was cheesy enough as it is) That spell which lets you repair RC pouches (not bad in itself, but we already have a spell for that, and contacting the dark mage to repair your pouches is much funner than casting a stupid spell) Death update (why make the game even LESS dangerous? This game needs to be harder, not easier, idiotic monkeys. Also, now I can walk around with all my money outside of the Wilderness and not give a damn, herp derp! Is that what you want it to be? Next update: god mode switch.) The royal wedding thingy (nobody cares about your stupid prince) Yeah, probably an April's Fools 2 and I'm just getting trolled. -
I dislike Justin Bieber, but the prank is actually pretty good. I was expecting something bad.
-
Pr0 joke Tip.it, will get people pissed/confused/etc. 8/10, was expecting worse. (-2 because of the functionality problems)
-
I'm not sure if this thread was intended as a joke, trolling or a showcasing of stupidity. I can only hope it's the first one.

Back in our 8th grade high school Maths lessons, we learnt that statistics like the ones in the original post don't mean a thing.

Some of these are too obvious and over the top, but at least a few gave me a chuckle, which is new. Still... Jagex shouldn't do an April's Fools update, ever again. They clearly don't know how to do it right. Edit: This is the best. If this had been the one single word in this BTS, I'd have been fully pleased. -
Bad clue reward? Post it here!
Fairness replied to DarkDude's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
Got my free elite clue and did it. It could have been harder, I suppose, and there were no celtic knots or Wilderness locations. In the end, I got about what I paid for, though - I got a little less than 500k. Funny, since the day before I did an easy clue, netting me Zamorak robe legs, which sold for 500k instantly. I feel cheated. -
Jagex isn't dying yet. They're just making less and less valuable content, caring less and less, testing how far they can go before they actually start profiting less. In the end, of course, people will start leaving in masses when Jagex finally stoops too low for the general crowd (or starts banning bots, I suppose) and RS will slowly fall apart, but by that time, all the original owners will have enough money to live rich until the end of their lives without ever needing to work or do a damn thing. All bots mean is just that the players don't find (parts of) the game to waste their own time for it. Instead they assign a bot to do it while they go find better things to do. For example, someone wants to boss hunt and wants 99 melees, so he has a bot get it for him. Then he boss hunts as long as he finds it fun. After this, the process repeats, except that eventually Mr. Botter will fail to find any more fun in RuneScape at all, and decides to leave. In the end, all that will remain are addicts, gold farmers and a few of those strange people who enjoy grinding above everything else. You're not above anyone else, either - you have nothing special that differentiates you from the average Tip.it doomsayer, except that your opinion is the opposite. So, are you wrong or on Jagex pay?

How much is Runescape's entertainment worth to you?
Fairness replied to Troll Bomber's topic in General Discussion
You're totally wrong. I spend X amount of money for Y amount of gaming hours. If I play 300 hours in 1 month and none during the other, and pay $6 for each, in the end I still paid $12 for 300 hours of game time. If your argument is that the price is too high because I don't play during some months - guess what, I consistently play a fair bit of time each month. If not, I cancel my subscription. I'm sure it's not just you, but consider this. As far as I can see your lowest level is 67, which means you've invested quite a bit of time into each skill - though more into some than others. Have you ever thought "I hate this skill, I don't want to train it"? If the answer is yes, guess what - that much time was wasted not actually having fun, however you go around it. Have you ever done cooking semi-AFKing while watching a movie (for example)? In that case, it wasn't RuneScape that gave you the entertainment, but the movie or whatever. Of course, if every single moment of your RuneScape career was spent having fun, then RS is a pretty great investment for you, but I doubt that's so. -

Fairness replied to Troll Bomber's topic in General Discussion
It's not just about the price you see. Look at your Adventurers' Log and see how much time you played, then calculate how much you have already spent on RS. I spent something like $150, I suppose, for 50 days of gametime. That's 1200 hours. I could name two games off the top of my head together with which I spent at least 500-600 - and they definitely did cost less than $50 together. While playing those games (UT 2004 and Age of Mythology, to name those two examples) close to 100% of my invested time is spent... well, having fun. A large portion of my RS time was spent grinding hoping I'd have fun in the future. So, I'd say that in the end, I had the same amount of fun with UT2004+AoM as with RuneScape, and the latter was much more expensive, while also wasting a lot of my time (so, in terms of money, we could say I actually paid twice the amount above). This may vary from person to person but I'm sure that the vast majority can say that RuneScape is a terribly inefficient way to spend your money on games. Therefore I have the right to expect high value for my money, even if it does cost less than a pint of beer (over where you live even, here it doesn't). Hopefully this also shuts down this "haha, poor noob"-kind of argument once and for all. -

Right now, I'm willing to pay $6 and no more. As things are going, this is actually going to be less quite soon. And I'm not going to pay for it any more until Jagex shows they are really dedicated and passionate about their own game - this includes faster bugfixing (like, Trollheim is still not fixed - what the hell? Faster!), no updates that were poorly and quickly conceived just to appease the moronic masses and for nothing more (Wildywyrms), no updates just to screw with a specific group of people while favoring combat even more (noted torstol drops that appeared together with the better RoW), and a few finished questlines - Myreque is my most urgent wish - that actually results in an epic and exciting ending, and is not just a half-ass job like some quests nowadays (like Forgiveness of a Chaos Dwarf*, Prisoner of Glouphrie - they hardly added anything to their respective plots and served only to let us down as we waited for a long and fun quest). There are my requirements - if we don't get that, I refuse to pay more than $6 as well. *I know this is not a new quest, but was probably the first in the line of such quests. EDIT: Oh, yeah, and regarding combat, more monsters that are difficult to fight - bosses or not. Jagex showed that they at least have a clue with Nex, Nomad and some Dungeoneering bosses. -
You're not alone with that. Apparently it's a glitch and Jagex is going to patch it in 3 months.
-
Yeah... with such arduous tasks as "switch on running mode" and "cut down a tree", newbies did need something easier to start off with. Also, you forgot to copy "Trollheim obstacles are once again useful" from the patch messages. Either that, or Jagex is totally clueless and unable to fix the slightest mistake. Just like our politicians (I live in Hungary so this is not just an empty stereotype here), they blabber inanely to cover up their incompetence and shady business.

I didn't really know how to explain why there really is no danger now in RuneScape right after I read the article... but now that I read this, it does actually retain sense. A shame. I myself want more than that. I hate combat because there is no danger at all in it, except for boss hunting and PKing which I enjoy (though PKing can get costly if I have a bad streak and at my pretty low combats not many bosses are efficient for me to kill). And naturally the minigames, which may not be dangerous in terms of items lost but at least there is a stake of sorts in each (whether it's FoG, Castle wars, or whichever other minigame). The second article... bleh. I didn't like it, really, and have nothing to say about it.

They are people. So? Not like they're contributing their lives to society. Why the [bleep] should we care? Considering they've been reduced to working in a sweatshop, they're probably just trying to stay alive. I don't see how you can refuse to acknowledge them as people just because of that. Reduced is the problem. Going to school, getting decent grades, listening to parents, helping others, volunteering to work part time or any of that would of at least put that person in a better position than working at a lousy sweatshop. I wouldn't acknowledge them as the same as the people who is working hard and making good money because that wouldn't be fair. I find that any people, who gives in a little effort can succeed and ATLEAST make a decent living. While we're there, we could stop famine and poverty in Africa once and for all.
-
I would start hiring Chinese sweatshop workers to detect bots with a couple of manual methods (like forcing random events or whatnot) available to them. A few of them would be then trained to be able to make final decisions on whether an account should be banned or not. Pros: It's humans seeking out bots - humans are better at this than any automated program Less Azns taking up botting (since they get jobs from me, a.k.a. the Jagex CEO, with better pay) Irony! Cons: Expensive Leaves room for human mistake (even if only a few of them are actually able to ban people) Almost impossible to hire enough to cover all of RuneScape, even if money is not an issue Just... impossible to realise anyways. Erh, well, that was my best shot. Jagex can't win this war unless they have infinite resources to devote to hunting bots. They'll just have to keep guerrilla fighting as well as they can.
-
Jagex shouldn't take legal action against bots because, for one, they would make themselves look dumb as they clearly wouldn't have any success, and for two, the wildy was killed in 2007 because Jagex went too far in persecuting bots IRL. (Which is not the problem, except for the fact that it didn't even succeed.) If Jagex wants to curb bots, they should just ban them as they come.

Duel arena glitch and scam. Do not play until jagex fixes.
Fairness replied to bigmoneyak's topic in General Discussion
The reason not to stake is because you risk the same (as you say, whether you lose or not is not affected by this glitch) but the reward is less (because some people will use the glitch). Same risk, less reward -> less worth it. This isn't really hard to figure out. Less reward still isn't a reason to not do something. Less reward is still more than no reward, which is what you would get if you just stopped staking, which was the whole point of my post. That really wasn't that hard to figure out. Except that, you know, you could do something else (that doesn't have temporarily reduced rewards) that you wanted to do anyways for the couple of days before this gets fixed. Therefore, when you stake after that, the time you spent on staking is more efficiently spent because guess why? Better rewards. Think about it before being a smartass. All some people do is stake. Theres not other things that they want to do for days, so other than staking, they would be doing nothing. So even though the reward they will be getting is less, it is still better than nothing. But come now, no need to turn this thread into a pointless flame war with your name calling and general [wagon]-attitude. (I say you have an [wagon] attitude because you couldn't have a simple discussion without being a condescending [puncture].) Everyone other than a few hopeless, disregardable RS junkies have other things to do than staking - if nothing else, something IRL-related. Also, you are the one overloading the censor, and other than "smartass" I didn't call you names. Just reinstating this post since it got deleted, despite being mostly on-topic. For good measure I'll throw in an extra bit of on-topic content: Who or what is AMJ and what the hell is this post about? -
Jagex no longer cares about bots? Nothing new here, move along. Seriously, the bots are here to stay, just try and make the best of them.

If you just want to get jujus, all you need is 74 hunter, 64 herb and some farming level I forgot. Check if you have those. From level 70 onwards, start marasamaw baiting common jadinkos. Basically you hunt them until 74 and keep all herb and bush seeds. Along the way, at level 71 track some shadow jadinkos to make scentless potions (grow argway for that meanwhile, but don't harvest the herbs until you are ready to use them since you can't note them with the leprechaun). When tracking, start from the northeastern burrow by the way. There is only one possible path from there which you can find quite soon, making it easy to track. At 74 marasamaw bait igneous jadinkos, from there come your marble vines which you can use to make the juju farming potions. At this point, also start farming those ugunes. Remember that the best way to get seeds are always the common jadinkos. About all the other stuff like witchdoctor clothing - it's worth it if you want to plan for the long term, especially if you wish to get a high hunting level later. If you really only want the farming pots, you are free not to bother with it if you don't have 80 construction and all the req's.
