  1. Simply quit. You'll come back if you really feel like playing RS, which is as it should be.
  2. Good update. Consider the following: formerly, with energy transfer, people were able to transfer their special attack bar to their friend in single combat, thus the one getting the energy was able to carry out several special attacks in a row. This could be roughly equated to having to fight two people at once in single combat, one of which cannot be killed. Feel cool enough for that? I don't.
  3. Could be a lot better. There are many problems with Dungeoneering in my opinion. First off, about the gameplay itself. Why is it that the whole skill is like a mini-RuneScape yet 90% of all that content is unused, even if you're not really obsessed about efficiency? Melee is the way to go, range and mage are inferior, except until the very end when you get Hexhunter (and by that point you already have more dungeoneering than you'll ever really need, I seriously don't care about anything that only helps me to reach the 120 I'll never get). Most of the crafting is not used - you craft a few cosmics and laws in the beginning, put on your bound items, go through the rooms, kill monsters scavenging equipment. When you go solo, that's when you need to really use those resources the map gives. In this case, the most I do is craft a bow (if needed for the boss), maybe make some armor (if needed for the boss) and fish (guess when). Naturally, soloing is ineffective, despite the fact that it deserves a lot more merit to complete a map alone than with the help of many other people who can speed up the whole map incredibly. Teaming is like 10 times better experience, and Jagex has promised to fix this, but no, the Gowers have stopped caring, which means that every minor issue in each update will now need 5 years to get fixed (as opposed to the 2 we have had before). The applications of the skill outside of Daemonheim are pretty good - though still not perfect, since the resource dungeons have made the affected areas much more inviting, and thus these dungeons have also become crowded like the main location (but not at the expense of the main location's growth).
  4. Actually, a little look inside the Artisans' Workshop left me pretty unhappy as what I found out was that this update, once again, sucks. I'd like to stress again that I'm not the stereotypical ranter who whines about every update no matter what it is like, but lately there have been more and more updates like this. Wasn't this advertised as a free minigame? I seem to recall reading something like "you just need a hammer, they'll provide you the rest". Turns out that in reality, what we got was a more expensive and not a bit faster training method (above level 70 anyways, I didn't care to test the lower levels extensively) compared to old-school smithing. I mean, trying to create the best possible sword is cool as a minigame for a while, but in the end, this update delivered nothing and clearly was poorly, hastily planned. I blew away like 400k on iron ore (no coal or anything! Just plain iron ceremonial swords) and ended up gaining like 50k exp in the end despite the fact that I performed well. I think prayer has better gp/xp rates than that.
  5. Wouldn't it be better to do the tip first right up to 8, risking like everywhere else so that if you screw up then you wouldn't have had wasted much time with the rest of the blade? I agree with the rest.
  6. Neither. I mean, I'm not the person who is strict with himself or others about efficiency regarding BXPW (since I skipped the last one) but doing such easy skills is just a waste. Either go meet some friends and socialise or train a difficult skill: the most expensive or the one you find the most tiresome. Ardy and the adze can wait a few days, but the Herblore/RC/Construction/whatever experience you can lose out on will haunt you when you do need those levels (and eventually, everyone will, since the game is heading towards a very exclusive, high-level game).
  7. I've started a range/2h pure and already managed to get 2 defence (stupid screwup). Since his name is Shah Rukh, though, which I consider pretty awesome, he's a keeper regardless.
  8. Just replying to thank you for the free whip, robin, d defender, zerker ring, 2 sets of blessed dhide, inf boots, dragon boots ad some other [cabbage].
  9. "Hai guys! I recently got 'hacked somehow' (in fact I was probably a moron who downloaded porn from shady sites 24/7). I don't have a bank PIN, I don't care about my computer's security and I took a big dump on all of Jagex's account security advice! So, like, halp?" EDIT: "Also, I do drugs! Wow, I'm cool, eh?"
  10. Who cares about the cannon's looks? I'm mildly happy about this update because if I wanted to train smithing I would now have a better way of doing so. Then again, I don't train smithing often. A pity - my early RS days were all about mining and smithing, how I kept mining to make bars to make armor to be able to make better armor... but okay, that's beside the point. About smithing, yes, what the skill really needs is new content. However, it isn't easy to make good content. I, for one, don't want another super untradeable skill perk unlocked at 95 smithing. If we went that way, then average and somewhat above average players would no longer stand a chance of doing anything eventually. If such content is to be introduced it should begin from a medium level (70-75) and should not get overpowered even at the end (example: curses are not particularly useful until 92, then suddenly it gets insane).
  11. Fairness replied to mbsas1's topic in Questionnaires
I see no reason why clues should be limited, either.
  12. I find magic the funnest, but tend to use ranged because it's cheaper, more convenient and often more useful for what I'm doing (likely slayer if I need to fight).
  13. Giving players the option to RWT? That's BS. I don't care if they get on a separate server, I would still feel cheated if certain players would be able to prance around with 200M without having worked for it, and would be able to do so legally. Now, about the other article, I have to agree with the points raised. I hadn't even known about that Raine and Spectrum investment bit, so I was really disappointed myself when I read that. Not since the removal of free trade could I say that RS has truly started dying, and I'm afraid this change won't be undone in 3 years. But if I consider the latest developments, I must say that one could have foreseen that. Updates are getting worse, and this is not just the whiny ranter speaking out of me. In fact, I have appreciated almost every update in the history of RS in one way or another - the second one that broke this rule (again, after 2007) were the Wildywyrms - a poor effort, badly thought out, no reward, only flashy graphics to it. Now they throw another Bonus XP weekend at us to keep the mob happy. Other than gratifying casual 11 year olds who couldn't train a skill straight for 15 minutes, the other effects this has are destroying the market for a long time, driving up prices, giving more money to the rich (merchers) and making the life of the poor hell (everyone who isn't a mercher, or a staker/pker since those can always profit). Hmm, sounds like modern capitalism. Oh well. Perhaps a miracle will happen and RS will start prospering again, but I don't believe it.
  14. Jagex doesn't ban bots anymore. Last time they tried, 2007 and the dark ages of RuneScape happened. (Because all those botters were resorting to credit card fraud to keep going, or something, so the credit card companies threatened to take action directly against Jagex. Now Jagex lets bots exist, so bots no longer need credit card fraud to sustain themselves - everyone is happy.) Though it would make more sense for them to announce mass bans and ban like 200 accounts each time, to make it seem like they care. Right now it is obvious they don't, or are bluffing about their detection abilities at the least.
  15. You can't stand doing 117? I seriously don't understand that. It's pitifully easy to find someone there - just the other day it took me about 5 mins to get an effigy fully done, with the final assist being herb (though admittedly one of them was agility for which I only had to get a summer pie). You just have to stand in the middle of the crowd, and look at the screen in such a way that you can see the whole crowd. If you see the assist you need and are not sure who is offering it, look at the chatbox, and then req assist the name you see next to it. Don't double check the name, that wastes time and others will move in first. (By the time you had posted this thread you could have gotten your assist, I'm sure.)
  16. March 05, 2011 - Fairness/Janaak - 1000 yew longbows (s) March 05, 2011 - Fairness/Janaak - 1000 yew longbows (s) That's two orders right there. Love this shop, by the way!
  17. Haha, I had a really bad money "tripler" (actually doubler) yesterday. I also started out with the small amounts and I offered him like 100 gp, 500 gp, then 1k. Then it appeared that the scammer got bored because next time (I kept promising him I'd put up 500k eventually) I gave 10k and the scammer doubled it without even taking my gold first. Did that two more times until 50k. Then I put up 500k and he clicked accept trade. I was like, "Can you do it like last time, please? No? Oh well, I have enough money anyway...) So yeah, won almost 100k on that one guy.
  18. Okay, looks like the general opinion favors the jadinko path. Thanks everyone.
  19. So guys, it's about Hunter. Never would have guessed, huh? My question is: right away from level 70, is it faster to hunt red salamanders or jadinkos? Only speed matters (though I don't think either method costs any significant money). Just want to get up Hunter to 74 but it's a pain so I might as well search for the fastest method in advance.
  20. Allowed only 10 poll options :---) I was never any good at maths (okay, that's a lie, I'm pretty awesome at it) but I see 20 options, not 10. Is that a typo? Even if so, you could have scratched out one and replaced it with "Other, please specify".
  21. RCing till I use up all my 20k pure essence or am too damn bored to continue. As I said in the other thread, I'll probably quit very early since I hate that skill. As a backup plan I have Hunter, which I don't hate that much, in which I can then get some levels. And of course, one farming run of checking health with yews and palm trees in the first half an hour so I can gain another farming level without any more fuss.
  22. My firewall and miscellaneous resident programs will meet those keyloggers, and I'm pretty good at computers so I know better than to fall victim to any of these methods.
  23. This is the correct topic!
  24. No, not afraid at all. I'd love to even have the Torva to wear in public, but why would I not wear it? Because someone would perhaps start guessing my password? Oh please.
  25. So much for my farm runs. I'm glad I could at least stock up on snap seeds, that'll get me nice profit. But it looks like I'll have to give up my tree runs for a while. Also, I bought about 20k pure essence for RCing. Funny thing is, I'll probably give up after 2k because of boredom.
