Dire_Wolf
Are you afraid of being hacked? Vote in the poll! Additional question:Would you wear Torva, Pernix or expensive armour set among big crowds of players? I would not.

la la la
No, I have a bank pin, I regularly run virus scans, and I'm not an idiot. Because I play through an insecure wireless network, someone could technically take my password, but it wouldn't be of much use without knowing my bank pin. tripsis
Well. I know that in nearly every case, being hacked is really the fault of the victim. By that I mean they make the mistake of trusting a friend with their password (or their e-mail), their recoveries are not secure, their password is a dictionary word/personal information, they don't read up on common scams and fall for an e-mail scam (as an example), they don't protect against viruses/keyloggers, etc. So there are definitely ways in which you can defend yourself against hackers and if you take all those precautions, there is no reason that your account should be compromised. And if you fail to take those precautions, it is certainly your fault for not being more proactive about your account's security. And if I got hacked, I definitely would think, "Well that was stupid of me." That being said, I do think I always have a paranoid little voice in the back of my mind that is afraid someone will totally randomly and magically guess my password, though it would be exceedingly difficult and nearly impossible to do. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
Bxpprod
Not at all. My skill gear is worth ~100k (99k of that being a skillcape) and everything else stays banked. Bank is worth ~80m. Dunno if you'd call that "rich" but if it were hacked and dropped/traded it'd be a pain in the arse but meh. Loffelicious
No, I'm not. I have a bank pin, I play on a secure wireless connection. I've never ever botted or used 3rd party software, and as lala said: I'm not an idiot :P Even if someone managed to get on to my account, I always bank all my items before logging off, so they couldn't do much.. MPM
I've played for... 9 years now, and I've never been hacked. I've never had a bank pin, and my password is at least 7 years old right now. I agree with tripsis, normally it's the hacked persons fault for using an insecure password, reusing the password, downloading things without scanning them, or using bots. ~M
Star.
Hell naw. I don't download anything dodgy that much, I have a good antivirus, my password is unpredictable and my recovery questions are something that I'd only know. Your second question, would I walk around crowds in full torva. Hmm, would someone mind giving me some to borrow so I could see if I would? ☢ CAUTION ☢ CAUTION ☢ CAUTION ☢ CAUTION ☢
Will H
Nope, I think I've taken every reasonable precaution. Bank PIN, a reasonably unique password, recoveries, email, don't play on unsecured networks, no 3rd party software. I've never been hacked in my life, I'm an advocate that getting hacked is almost always because of a bad move on the player's part, instead of a hacker's skill. ~ W ~
Sir_Squab
Like most people said, most people who get hacked did something stupid resulting in it. I'm not particularly scared of being hacked. Although, I will admit to doing a few unsafe things in the past....even so, I don't think anyone could know my password short of virus/keylogger getting on my computer, which I can't see happening. Plus, I have a pretty strong password :D Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.[spoiler=The rest of my sig. Sir_Sibz
Yes, I am afraid, but that's why I have my anti-virus software and all of those goodies. I have never been hacked before because I'm smart with my passwords, security questions, etc. Even though I am afraid, it doesn't mean that I'm not confident that I'm secure. Dax
I'm not worried. I don't go on dodgy sites, I don't bot, I don't download dodgy things, I have anti-virus software, I have a bank PIN, I have recoveries that are pretty much unguessable, and a password containing letters and numbers in random order. Plus I change those last three every few months. #KERR2016/17/18/19/20/21. #rpgformod

TaylorSwift
I have nearly 20m stuff. I don't consider myself rich, and I'm not worried. I know enough about computer security (and apply that knowledge) to make sure that its unlikely I'll get keylogged or phished. My recovery questions can't be answered by anyone other than me, and my password can't be easily guessed or brute forced. Although I don't think I'm rich, I am a hacker target, mostly because of my name. I guess if an account trader got ahold of my account, they could probably make a decent amount of cash from it - But there's no way i'm letting that happen :P
Freakyhair
id consider myself rich, santa and 100m cash, but im pretty suire i wont get hacked. i dont chat to many people on rs, and definately dont download stuff they tell me to. ive played for 7/8 years and have only been hacked once. and that was me giving someone my pass to get me a fire cape lol. Goldenjkered
I have around 80 mil at the moment, so not rich, but I am still not worried about getting hacked. My password isn't easily guessable, and because of my name change people wouldn't know my past username anyway. Also I have a bank pin, so even if they did manage to hack my account, the only things I would lose would be things like supercompost from leps etc. Whips: 3 Dragon Boots: 15 My 99's: Attack & Cooking Youtube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/Goldenjkered

Fairness
No, not afraid at all. I'd love to even have the Torva to wear in public, but why would I not wear it? Star_Fox
^ Lol, Most hacked accounts come from keyloggers or notifcation from friends. Guessing someone's password isas stupid as setting a fire.
