  1. Your friend was having some "issues" that day, or she never would've said that to her other friend. That was totally unacceptable. However, that other friend's reaction was also completely unacceptable, so it's probably for the best that the two are done with each other. What people don't understand about friends is that they're really easy to make if you care enough. Losing a friend here and there is nothing, a minimal loss. Good friends are a different story, but those two obviously weren't good enough friends to even be kind or forgiving towards one another. Also, bouwzie, your comment seemed ostentatiously obnoxious. Keep that stuff to yourself.
  2. I've spent countless hours designing outfits for both male and female characters. After all that work, I've realized that you shouldn't over-do it. Simple outfits, especially just your characters clothes, often look nicer than trying to wear as much of your wealth as you can.
  3. To Do-It-Yourself is terribly inefficient. Perhaps the "old RuneScape" died when people gave opportunity costs a thought and did some simple calculations. I "buy" the levels in every skill I can, because it's the most efficient way to train.
  4. These "Wildy Removal" threads almost make my physically ill. There are all sorts of flaming, bashing, and irrational posts about this subject on a regular basis, and for what? Player-Killing in the Wilderness had to be removed for financial reasons, it's as simple as that.
  5. I wear my monkeyspeak amulet, gree gree, spottier cape, and boots of lightness. I take a house tab, enchanted Excalibur, and fill the rest of my inventory with tuna. You'll probably want to bring a knife as well to slice the pineapples, as at level 58 you'll fail quite consistently.
  6. Bloodvelds drop a lot of blood runes, which you can sell to buy nature runes with a bit extra left over. Really though, nature runes are awfully cheap. You might want to single out a more valuable drop instead.
  7. Do all the quests. It'll take you a while, is fun, and you'll learn about all the new updates and such since you left.
  8. The first post was a mistake that I neglected to remove; it was just to show who I was responding to. Once I added the second quote, the first became irrelevant.
  9. Any point I made (or attempted to make ;)) after this was merely to say that the frontal lobe excuse is not a good one.
  10. I never said my brain was fully formed, just that full growth is unnecessary.
  11. I'm not as knowledgeable as I'd like to be on such subjects, but after reading your Wikipedia article (source likely contaminated) I found that I had all of those mature qualities by age eight. Thus, I'm not likely to put much faith in something like my brain controlling more than my mind. I'd prefer not to get into the subject of consciousness, but we're getting awfully close here. In addition, my Psychology Professor often raised this issue. Granted, he's only one man, but I do put a good deal of faith in him. We've really digressed from the original topic though, sorry for stealing your thread, eatrunearrow. :P
  12. I disagree. You are pitting biology against psychology; that issue has yet to be resolved.
  13. Don't waste time getting junk on a non-rare drop that is so inexpensive. Just put them in the Grand Exchange and go back to killing statues for more maces.
  14. RuneScape's community hasn't changed much since I began playing. The most notable change was finally shedding some pures and PKers with the Wilderness update, which was quite pleasant. Of course, this made all the ex-PKers quite whiny. Overall though, we've made some real progress. I certainly enjoy the updates, can make a mature friend in as little as ten minutes, disable the warnings that you find so offensive, give/take 240k per hour (That should be more than enough!), and run around in my mithril/adamant armor combination which I pride myself on. That covers most of the rant, right?
  15. I would love to see a Sailing prank! Granted, a model boat is unlikely, but they could do a lot with the subject. A "skill cape" would be funny, for those who don't read the main page.
  16. I can't imagine why anybody on the RSC forums would be asking for such an item though, if they don't plan to use it to show off. JaGEx would never have given the item stats worth beans in the past, but who knows now with Gerhard? On the subject of phones, I didn't feel it had to be a RuneScape-related example. My conclusion was that one can not be more loyal to something solely because one has been around longer than another, and I stand by that. I see where you're coming from and tried to word my example accordingly, but failed it would seem. This is probably because I do not believe loyalty is a shades-of-gray thing. I see the quality as being fully devoted, having no middle ground. Most people disagree.
  17. Perhaps I should've been more clear. I didn't mean I'd be offended by such an item, merely that many players are elitist enough already. Your loyalty paragraph is dead wrong, however. Let's compare this to another example- phone service. For seven years I've had crappy phone service. I keep paying the same company too much money for too low quality audio, reliability, and especially customer service. Just because I've been with them the last several years does not say anything about my loyalty, as I would likely jump to any new company that came to town. Someone who has moved into my neighborhood recently will not have had to spend as much money or time on this company, and will be slower to switch than an agitated me. So when the choice arises, who's the more loyal one? Is it me, who just has no other option, or is it the newer guy who is currently content? Time and loyalty are not the same.
  18. "...most loyal players..." just disgusts me. I didn't know about the game until 2005 and have only played RS2 as a result, but to call me less loyal than someone who simply learned about the game earlier than myself is upsetting. I often have conversations with people who claim they played RSC, but they tend to use it as leverage in a verbal fight (which I do try to avoid). 'You're new; you don't know anything. I played Classic!' and such nonsense. The last thing I need is such a person rubbing their hat/cape/et cetera in my face as well. However, opening RuneScape Classic to the public seems a good idea to me. I'm not looking forward to the sea of party hats that such a cheat server would spawn though.
  19. To say something like: 'The enjoyment of Metal bands and the enjoyment of RuneScape have a strong correlation,' is just ridiculous.
  20. Forum Name: Moad14 RuneScape Name: Moad14 Name to use on picture: Moad14 Picture: URL: http://s301.photobucket.com/albums/nn71 ... ission.png
  21. I agree; that would be a fair system. I would like to be able to save one item though.
  22. I chose every character in my name quite carefully. Overall, it forms an acronym for all the best friends I've had, and I deliberately added the "14" because that was the most enjoyable year of my life. I hoped that RuneScape would bring me as much fun as real life had/has, and named myself accordingly. This is why I don't appreciate number-bashers, as they are sometimes quite significant. However, using numbers as letters is never okay. #-o
  23. If you're the one who's bothered by the crowded dungeons, try using less popular ones or world-hopping yourself. The others don't mind; why should they have to hop to suit your desires? By the way, you seriously are really anti-social.
  24. You don't approve of the way I meet new people through RuneScape? ;)
  25. The Kalphite Queen is nasty business; you were quite bold to go. Glad you kept some of the items! :
