  1. I agree with AlexDT; Jagex often takes the easier route rather than the preferable one.
  2. Well, I try very hard to restrain myself most of the time, but when people intentionally mar the English language I afford them no mercy. Even so, I hope I'm not coming off as one of the grammar nazis. :?
  3. I only wish that the fabled Lizardmen did exist.
  4. I completed the quest in five hours the day it came out. The requirements weren't too high, nor was the quest difficult. It's hardly a Grandmaster quest, merely a long, mediocre quest with a great reward. Sindarin00, don't assume that every person who can complete a quest quickly and easily uses a guide. I haven't had to yet, the most help I get is what I ask other players.
  5. My graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS.
  6. I don't play many games; I generally stick to good old RuneScape. I was able to browse the internet, but the game wouldn't load. I reinstalled the video drivers (after a long battle with HP's support site ;) ) so I'm hoping that fixed it. Thanks for your help guys!
  7. First off, I know almost nothing about computers, so if you know what has to be done please tell it in language your grandmother will understand. :P So I was playing RuneScape tonight when the game suddenly died. A little message bubble popped up to tell me my video driver had stopped working, and I couldn't re-load RuneScape. Since I'm running on Vista, I know that whenever you have a problem you just restart the machine and it should work fine. That it did, but only for a half hour before the driver died again. After restarting it only lasted another half hour. Three times in all I had to restart for reasons I can't understand. I've installed/removed nothing in the last week, and my computer has been running properly for quite some time now. Has anybody else experienced this? :-k
  8. I've never gotten a good drop in all the years I've played RuneScape, and I still get by without creating topics like this. You get no pity points from me. Also, stop killing metal dragons; they're terrible.
  9. Well, a bit, but compfreak made me chuckle. Honestly, I'm sorry that you misclicked. However, Halloween Masks are a waste of money in the first place; at least you didn't drop something useful like a whip.
  10. Manage Thy Kingdom, the minigame in which you control your Miscellanian and of Etceterian subjects to gather resources for you, is often abbreviated to a simple "MTK."
  11. You're exactly right. Though others can technically be taking away from you through MTK and merching, it's really quite slight. I've never felt bad about employing the workers I earned through adventuring; I'm not sure why anybody would. I'm not bold enough to merchant, but I've done small things occasionally, and I certainly don't feel bad about that either. What's happening to Armadyl armor right now is a different story though.
  12. I don't know if this is "nooby" so much as it is just desperation. I wouldn't want to get stuck with PvP equipment, that's for sure.
  13. I would never waste my money on such a poor weapon as a godsword, but if I did own one, I'd prefer it to be the Saradomin version. Granted, I'd only bring it out to spec and just use a whip the rest of the time.
  14. I wear dragonhide and never get hit. Infernal Mages are one of my favorite tasks actually.
  15. There's nothing wrong with passive income. It's no less honorable, but it certainly is easier and almost always more profitable. I suggest you do the things daxter76 mentioned if you want some quick money, since I assume this is more of a jealous raging than a rant.
  16. It appears that we merely had different conceptions of what pureprayer implied. It was fun, but you can see that by the end there I was ready to end it. ;)
  17. Really, you can't? Darn, and I thought my house was worth millions. -.- My point is, on an object you never intend to sell, your value of it is not tied to what it's currently selling for in the nearest market.
  18. If it had that much sentimental value, why would I sell it? But really, why buy a house if you don't plan to stay there?
  19. I tried fitting the situation many times and it didn't work, so I'm taking a different approach. I already mentioned that many santa hat owners have no intention of selling. You can not profit off a stat-less hat which you are not merchanting. Even so, you still value it.
  20. Sentimental values, usefulness, stylishness, bragging rights, and other such values count as well. Do you value your home at only its monetary value in real life? Would you not also consider the countless hours invested in upkeep and shopping for furniture, the location and convenience, and the memories you created in your home as well as the actual cash value? Often you'll hear stories of developers trying to buy a farmer's land to build a mall, et cetera, and he won't accept even fantastic offers. His family has farmed that land for generations, and he doesn't value it in solely monetary terms.
  21. That is correct. Gold is not hard to earn, so there are more important ways to value one's possessions. I may sound like a broken record, but coins =/= value.
  22. Says someone who can't spell? :lol:That's what makes it all the better response. ;) But I digress... You may consider writing a rant next time you're in the Rants sub-forum. A guttural noise with a bunch of demonic smilies is not conducive to a good conversation.
  23. That's good, but that's not losing money, that's losing potential money. However, since many santa hat owners have no intention to sell theirs it is irrelevant. One can not discount sentimental value either. My most prized possession is a tan cavlier actually; I wore it for two years straight and had a lot of good times while wearing it. While to most people my hat is only worth the Grand Exchange price, I wouldn't part with it for any less than 100m. I am not joking. One can not definitively say what an item is worth.
  24. Nice one, you've got him cornered :-) Mmm, not quite. You forgot about marginal utility. While one santa hat can be worth 21m, what good is a second unless he is Zaphod Beeblebrox?
