  1. Why does no-one check the second trade screen properly? :?
  2. A tree can get diseased whilst a farmer is looking after it, it is instantly cured by the farmer but this sets back its growth making it take longer.
  3. AMEN BROTHER!!! You must be talking about the start of RS2, because RS1 was plagued by autoers.
  4. Farming is random. Sometimes they will only take 18 hours, sometimes up to 36 hours. It's affected by disease and worst of all, by server updates.
  5. That could have easily have been a gold farmer, you can't tell whether it was an autoer or not.
  6. With unlimited money, slayer is without a doubt the slowest skill.
  7. Err, wrong. I started in 2002 (5 years ago) and it was still RSC in January. RS2 I believe started in 2004. So let's see, I played 2 years of RSC, all of that information can easily be found on wikipedia by the way. Runescape (RSC) did NOT start until 2001 you idiot. Sorry to be rude. Considering Party Hats were dropped Christmas of 2001 and I came in after that (2002). NO ONE could have played for EIGHT years, considering the entire world of Runescape has only been around for 6 1/2, 7 next year. Errr, I don't think you read my post properly.
  8. Wow....you make me realise how little I have acheived in the same period of the time. Congratulations! You must have the patience of a saint! As for farming, if I was you I'd start planting 4 fruit trees and a calquat once per day. It only takes about 10 mins and you will get 1m experience per month just from doing that, even if you use lower seeds from your kingdom. Toadflax are good for herblore but you only get 38xp per herb you pick, so they're probably not worth your time. :P
  9. Yep, you know you're old school when you realise that most people who say they are old school are lying. Here's an example from the rants forum.. um runescape just celebrated its 5th birthday....
  10. Anyone who thinks there were no beggars in classic obviously didn't play it. Begging has been a problem since day one of RuneScape. It was worse in 2001 than it has ever been since. I was begged everywhere I went. It was like f2p is now (because of course back then there was no members game). It got better after members was introduced (on members servers anyway) and is no worse now than it was then. However, the plummeting age, maturity and intelligence of the community since those days is very noticeable.
  11. Farming because it's the most diverse and interesting skill on the game. It used to be combat though, before slayer/PC were released.
  12. When I'm training combat I use my HP cape because the att, def and str ones are just so hideous. When I'm not training combat I put it in my bank...
  13. 5 more rooms....now what am I going to do with those. :-k
  14. This is the 1000th topic on the ROW. It DOES work. Jagex have told us it does. Until you go and kill 50,000 monsters with it on and 50,000 without it you cannot possibly contradict what they have said. The ROW gives you a slight increase in your chances of getting that monsters rare drop. It is not a guarantee you will get a rare drop for every few 100 of them you kill. I'll give you an example (these are estimated figures:) Chance of getting a chain from the KQ= 1/150 The ROW gives you a 20% better chance of getting the chain so that would be 1/120 Can you see how much of that still relies on luck? With or without the ring you could theoretically kill millions of KQ without a chain, or you could get a chain on every kill. It's all luck. Unless you kill tens of thousands of those you can't possibly say one way or the other. There are some that say the benefit of the ROW does not outweigh the benefits of other rings, that is a legitimate argument. However you cannot say the ROW does not work. That is just factually wrong. Edited for a typo.
  15. +1 Also, why does Guthans Helm, Plate and Skirt protect over the Spear? Hell, even barrows gloves protects over Guthans Spear. :? Perhaps Jagex should have had a look at those issues rather than this pointless update. It wasn't exactly hard to go to a shop and work out what your three most valuable items were.
  16. In my opinion you are not old school unless you played before item banking and rune armour were introduced.
  17. Add "Damn" to the list. You are completely correct. The filters are totally ridiculous. The language in 12 rated films can be actually quite bad, along with explicit content. Jagex are way over the top with the filter.
  18. I got a robin from lumbridge castle after 4 clues and no puzzle box. It's totally random.
  19. If you seriously think lurers are the "scum of the earth" then you need to turn the computer off and go outside. :?
  20. I actually got called a "food noob" for eating shark in a 6 v 1 match once, by almost all of them. I've been called a "range noob" about 100 times for using range on people when they pray melee. I could easily write another 10 examples like those.
  21. People in the wilderness will always insult you no matter what you do. Just ignore it and kill them.
  22. What, there's a music list now? Edit: Ooooh it's a pretty red colour.
  23. Yep, but that was at the prehistoric period :P Item banks came at pretty early stage, before it turned to year 2002. However I can guarantee that 95% of people who call RSC hard didn't even play back then :P I did. Can you remember the names of all your mules too? :P Reading this topic makes me miss RSC. :( I often go back and play old computer games when I think of them, but that's the one game I liked the most and the one I'll never get to play again.
