  1. What Studio says: first come first serve. What Troacctid says: not that. Now who is right? What I got out of it was.. Studio : At least look, crash if you must Troacctid : Screw that, you hop instead. Oh boy, this thread is full of misunderstandings today . . . on all sides. Troacctid is just saying that there shouldn't be a double-standard for who has to hop, and that everyone technically has the right to stay in any place for as long as they want (unless they're killed, which they probably didn't want). Studio is saying that people should hop at least a few times before crashing (which I can agree with when it comes to certain bosses, but not all), and Stonewall is saying that when it comes down to him versus the world, the world is likely to lose (because the world doesn't have overloads and turmoil; GF world). At least, I think that's what everyone's saying. None of you are really contradicting either.
  2. Zarfot's latest Mega Slayer Guide has been out for about a month and I had no idea. As always, it's a good read. Unlike past versions, though, I didn't learn anything new, which I guess is a good thing. 8-) I actually disagreed with some of his recommendations, like using a SGS instead of dragon claws (he never explicitly says, but I think he brings both SGS and claws to tasks, then uses them as necessary) and using a SW cape with a proselyte/Verac's skirt setup. Anyway, just thought I'd let everyone know, as this seems to be the appropriate topic.
  3. I HATE it when more than two people try to use any room in Kuradal's dungeon (sometimes even two is too much). I always start lecturing them about efficiency. I can't help it. :geek: Sometimes I bring wind strikes to tasks just so I can take over a room.
  4. That's a pretty cool collection. I've collected various things at various times. When I got 99 slayer, my friend, D Jay99, gave me cavier 'cause he was fishing when I asked him to come see. I still have it. I still have every spirit seed and godbird egg I've ever gotten. I did have about 102k maple logs from MTK, but I sold 70k of them for a quick few mil when I was getting 88 herblore. Kinda sad that I sold them. I have about 50 of each tool because I'll sometimes buy out a shop if I happen to be in there (which is almost never).
  5. You could get double the crims (~200) with a chaotic maul and steel/iron titan in CT.
  6. How's prossy legs + bcp and ardy cloak 3? You lose 2 prayer to get +6 accuracy, sweet deal? There are very few tasks where you need the extra accuracy (I actually wouldn't use the Ardy cape for slayer at all). It's also worth noting that a Verac's skirt has one less prayer bonus than proselyte legs, but much more defense.
  7. If the best skill in the game is an afk skill, Runescape would become even more boring than it is now. I'd rather more skills be trained in ways like Summoning, Runecrafting, and Farming. They actually require you to pay attention to what's going on, or you'll lose out on a lot of experience or money potential. Of course, MHing and dungeoneering are basically more advanced versions of that. But they involve combat skills, which require attention for max efficiency anyway. Farming requires less attention than any other skill.
  8. Opposite or not depends entirely on how you read it. What I read from Troacctid's post: People compete. If you crash, and someone doesn't hop, cope with it, you decided to crash. That works the other way around as well. There really isn't a right to a spot (again, because right implies morals); this is where I may have read something other than what Troacctid posted. Or that's what I think you wrote about what you thought I wrote. In this context, right means freedom (as in Jagex does not restrict you from accessing every area in the game as long as you fulfill the requirements). It's a technical right rather than a moral right.
  9. Wow, I can't believe I never knew that. Two more strength for one less prayer is a pretty good deal. I've thoroughly (though not thoroughly enough, apparently) researched all kinds of slayer setups for using turmoil, and I never once compared those two for a protection prayer task. Mind = blown.
  10. Yup, same for me. Do you agree nobody has the right (right implies morals) to a spot, and the following is true? (not specifically to Bladewing after this) People crash to be efficient; why do they want to be efficient? Because it's fun I suppose? Or because it is, overall, something they think is good? Either way, you have your "good" and that level 100 you crash has a different one, and they conflict. Who is to say one is better than the other? I don't think you can say you have a right to a spot anymore than any other person, be they level 3 or 138. That doesn't mean you shouldn't crash, but you shouldn't call it a right. (unless I misunderstood and your definition of right is quite different, but it doesn't seem so) He's saying that he has an inherent right to use or compete for that spot, not that he has a right to "own" it, if you will. Essentially, everyone has the same right to a spot, so who gets the spot is entirely up to who can stay there longer (which is affected by a variety of things, all of which are discussed in this thread). I think you took the opposite message from what Troacctid wrote.
  11. I lol'd. That was great. I'm really impressed with the "cinematic" feel of it, too.
  12. Christopher Walken.
  13. I've been in the lobby with around 10 people and still got the "not enough players message." :/ It happens on some of the less popular FoG worlds from time to time.
  14. prossy /firecape is a pretty good setup where you need to pray protection i dont really see a reason to bring bandos on task where u protection pray but the only task i do is............spiritual mages i guess abberant specters too but ima blocking n00b lol...maybe black demons when u have 2 on u... or if u feel like afking a task of dragons but im usually to busy banking bones and killing next. also for max hit i find that i am hitting above my old max in kuradel 650 prossy/sw cape quite often enough that it is worth it to have bandos/firecape max i seen so far is like 686 so im really not a fan of dividing max hit by 2 to get avarage hit maybe i will do 100 hits on dusties and put them in excel to get avarage hit =p but on othe places such as mithril dragons avarage hit is less cuz of more 0s Yeah, I use proselyte and fire cape on protect prayer tasks, too. ;)
  15. I kind of assumed that barrows was better than Bandos for safe PVP, but it's interesting to see it proven mathematically. For the slayer comparison, your proselyte setup should have a fire cape. It would raise the costs by a negligible amount while closing the DPS gap. That said, I do believe that Bandos is worth it *if you have overloads and turmoil*. It's just one of the many examples of paying huge prices for small advantages. And, of course, Bandos is useful for most boss hunting.
  16. I don't like you. You've somehow derailed this discussion into a comparison to the real world that neither makes sense nor applies to Runescape in the slightest. Hacking someone's account is AGAINST THE RULES. As others have said, crashing is NOT AGAINST THE RULES. Do you see where your argument went completely off-base? It doesn't matter if someone gets caught hacking or not, because it's AGAINST THE RULES. We are discussing CRASHING, not HACKING. What the [bleep] does hacking have to do with crashing FOR THE PURPOSE OF GETTING MORE KILLS AT A BOSS? I could go out and hack 10 maxed accounts and I'd STILL have to crash Bandos. It doesn't make a difference. So how, exactly, is hacking more efficient than crashing in regards to killing bosses? I also like how you retired three years ago, but you somehow feel that you're entitled to an opinion. It's really cute. What could you possibly know about the MHing climate in Runescape today? That sig was really old, i still can't figure out how to change it. I started playing about 5 months ago, and didn't start posting on tip.it until recently. I'll figure out how to change it soon. Hacking doesn't have anything to do with MH. But I bet it could be just as efficient way to make money. That's apparently the reason crashing is justified, so i mean i could use that to justify hacking or glitching, or anything else that benifits me in the game no matter how terrible the action is right? Apparently anything that is the best way to benifit the player is ok, so when if i countered every crasher by hacking their accounts? Its efficent yes? Who cares if its against the rules? I can get away with it, just like you can get away with crashing me. I had to take so many computer classes i've earned my right to take happiness away from people. Alright, let's assume for a second (just a second) that hacking is not against the rules. As with MHing, I assume that it takes a lot of time and effort to get to the point where you can start doing it effectively and successfully. I know of no way to hack a stranger's account other than brute-forcing their password (good luck) or tricking someone into downloading a trojan, so I assume, again, that you'd have to be an incredibly skilled computer scientist or something of that ilk (even then, I highly doubt you could hack my account). So now you can hack whoever you want, presumably. What then? Do you trade valuables from those accounts to a friend who trades them back to your main account? Great, you can now make almost 1M an hour and get consistent 24 hour lends of whatever you want! GEE WILLICKERS I WISH I COULD MAKE A MILLION GEEPEE AN HOUR MONSTER HUNTING! Even more if you PVP trick with all of those accounts (assuming you have the EP, which takes time to accumulate). Oh, I can make more than that, and you completely forgot the FUN aspect of MHing. I don't know if you've noticed, but almost every single person on this thread who supports crashing actually ENJOYS MHing, which is a big motivator when deciding to crash. Do I skip out on having fun so Legolas2223344 can get his two solo Bandos kills? No. Efficiency is not the be-all, end-all of MHing (or Runescape for that matter). It is a way to play the game that some people enjoy (including myself). So assuming that FUN is one of my motivators to monster hunt (which it is), where does the hacking come into play? For it to have any effect on whether or not I crash, I'd have to hack the accounts of all my competitors, which makes me giggle just thinking about how absurd that is. So, again, how the [bleep] does hacking relate to crashing?

  18. Jesus Christ, divine and elysian sigils are much rarer than I thought. I remember seeing something a long time ago that said divine was like 1/800. :D
  19. I used mind and fire runes, mostly. I had tons of them from slayer and barrows. If you invest max credits every game till 300 rank, you'll have enough to imbue every ring (including dragonstone), get full lord marshal, a quest kit, and an elite locator. I think they're all worth getting. You'll have the credits anyway, so might as well. The warrior ring isn't too useful, but the other ones are.
  20. This picture is about a month old. Still haven't reset.
  21. This. Skilling exists to support combat. Combat is superior to skilling in every way. It's more fun, more money, and more social (or antisocial, depending on how you do it).
  22. Touché. ;)
  23. I had to use two effigies for the last 70k experience because my hand hurt too much to keep going. :( 10/10. Go get 99 summoning, ranged, magic, and prayer now.
  24. After reading some of the replies in this thread, I have to say that I agree with most of you -- dungeoneering, slayer, magic, and summoning are the best skills. They're very intricate, complex, and encompass a variety of other skills.
  25. I find this offensive. Yeah. As per usual, the people who hate crashing are the first to throw stones.
