  1. PostPosted: Thu Jan 05, 2006 4:02 pm :wall: #-o  Congratulations! You just advanced one Necromancy level!
  2. I got one hit in the last part. One hit. From 99 HP. This quest deserves at least a Master rating, maybe even Grandmaster. More people I know have had trouble with this quest than any other in the game, INCLUDING While Guthix Sleeps.
  3. You beat him? Congrats!! =D>
  4. She isn't swearing in that context. She is using it to mean perdition, not as in "what the hell."
  5. Glad I dumped mine this morning for 27.4m instant. I made 27m on them (paid 400k to a friend who got them when I duoed with him.)
  6. This is meant to be a dungeon with magnificent rewards to offer to the most elite of players. The Tower of Temptation gets its name because if you can make it to the top, you get a piece of the most powerful armor in the game, but the trek is extremely dangerous. You may attempt to beat the bosses (and thenceforth claim your reward) as often as you want, but once you do, you must wait 24 hours to do so again. Also, the fight with the Unholy Trinity is instanced, so if you should die, you will permanently lose all but your three (or four) best items. Nevertheless, the ToT is a fantastic place to train slayer, as it contains most slayer monsters, in addition to being multi-combat. As a bonus, all monsters slain in the tower give 1.5x more slayer experience. There are thirteen floors in the ToT, and each floor has progressively stronger monsters and traps. The thirteenth floor, also referred to as the citadel, contains three bosses and the antechamber. Due to the dark aura exuded by the bosses, they often strike through Protection Prayers. This "minigame" if you want to call it that is a test of endurance rather than strength. All monsters from the seventh floor onward are aggressive. The ToT is located at the edge of the poison waste in Isafdar, south of the pond on the map. The outside of the Tower resembles a massive castle, with a danger sign outside the entrance and a skeleton propped up against it. Torchlight casts eerie shadows throughout the interior of the Tower, and there are blood splatters and more skeletons scattered about. Floor One: Traps: 1 - agility requirement: 45 Monsters: Cave Bugs (lvl 6), Crawling Hands, Cockatrice, Wall Beasts Floor Two: Traps: 2 - agility requirement: 50 Monsters: Wall Beasts, Fever Spiders, Brine Rats, Bloodvelds, Jellies Floor Three: Traps: 3 - agility requirement: 55 Monsters: Wall Beasts, Skeletal Hands, Banshees (lvl 90), Molanisks, Bloodvelds Floor Four: Traps: 5 - agility requirement: 55 Monsters: Wall Beasts, Zombie Hands, Infernal Mages, Jellies, Cave Bugs (lvl 96) Floor Five: Traps: 6 - agility requirement: 60 Monsters: Wall Beasts, Molanisks, Gargoyles, Lesser Demons, Turoths (lvl 85) Floor Six: Traps: 6 - agility requirement: 65 Monsters: Wall Beasts, Kurasks, Dust Devils, Mutated Zygomites, Fever Spiders Floor Seven: Traps: 7 - agility requirement: 65 Monsters: Kurasks, Aberrant Spectres, Fever Spiders, Mutated Bloodvelds (lvl 126), Greater Demons Floor Nine: Traps: 8 - agility requirement: 70 Monsters: Dust Devils, Aberrant Spectres, Spiritual Mages (Zamorak), Mutated Bloodvelds (lvl 146), Gargoyles Floor Ten: Traps 9 - agility requirement: 75 Monsters: Skeletal Wyverns, Spiritual Mages (Zamorak), Spiritual Rangers (Zamorak), Nechryaels, Black Demons, Abyssal Demons Floor Eleven: Traps: 9 - agility requirement: 80 Monsters: Skeletal Wyverns, Black Demons, Abyssal Demons, Dark Beasts, Cave Horrors, Spiritual Rangers (Zamorak) Floor Twelve Traps: 10 - agility requirement: 85 Monsters: Skeletal Wyverns, Dark Beasts, Nechryaels, Tormented Demons (can only hurt them if you have done While Guthix Sleeps) Citadel Traps: 0 - agility requirement: N/A Monsters: Unholy Trinity The bosses: The Unholy Trinity is comprised of the Avatar of Might, Avatar of Magic, and Avatar of Dexterity. A slayer level of 75 is required to deal any damage to these bosses, but at 88 slayer your maximum damage against them (with all three styles) is augmented by 15% and at 95 slayer your maximum damage is augmented by 25%. All three bosses use a different attack style and each has 400 HP. You must defeat all three in one-on-one combat before you can claim your reward. Also note that each of the bosses is capable of summoning an Evil Spirit (level 65) that has 40 HP and hurls non-blockable spectral attacks at you, transferring any damage they deal directly to their master's HP. They can hit up to 10, and there can be up to three Evil Spirits alive at a time. The Avatar is Might, as you would expect, uses melee attacks. It has an extremely high defense against melee attacks, but is quite vulnerable to magic. It is possible to kill it with melee, but its defense is comparable to a Mithril Dragon. The most dangerous aspect of this foe is its ability to teleport next to you, much like a shifter or Abyssal Demon. Its max hit is 35 and its attacks, while being slow, have a chance to stun you for 3 seconds upon impact. The Avatar of Magic uses a new spell called Chaos Bolt, which has a chance to lower all combat stats by 10%. This Avatar has relatively low defenses across the board but is very powerful to make up for it. Its max hit is 45. The Avatar of Dexterity uses bolts that resemble Dragonfire bolts. It will run from you if you attempt to melee it (and it runs 1.5x as fast as you do), and it a has very high magic defense. If you can bind it in place, melee attacks will tear it to shreds. Its max hit is 30 normally and 60 if the special activates. An anti-fire shield or DFS will reduce the damage of the special to 48, and an anti-fire shield + a potion further reduces it to 35. The rewards: Now, as you are probably wondering, what is so great about this incredibly difficult dungeon to make it worth my while? Well, in addition to being able to receive the best equipment in the game, you also receive a 50,000 experience lamp (to use on any skill over level 60) every time you complete the dungeon! Take note that all equipment is non-tradeable and everything except the Fiend's Ring will crumble to dust after 8 hours of use. You may choose ONE item upon each completion of the dungeon. 7. Bruno, what is that "die in a fire pit" thing?
  8. 1) Chick ranging in metal armor 2) Chick isn't wearing accumulator 3) Chick using D sq shield
  9. Wow o_O Nice work, Ferr. I take it you sold them for max in the ge? I'm waiting til my claws get to around 18m before I sell them, so that I can at least break even on my dragon platebody. :wall: And yes, today they fixed the "dark arrow" bug. Meh.
  10. I remember buying a rune battleaxe for a red party hat + 400k cash. I got the better end of the deal, at that time. I also remember getting on in January of 2002 and seeing a bunch of people standing around Varrock Wilderness selling Party Hats for 10k each... :?
  11. I am fairly confident the Pickaxe is the next thing we'll get.
  12. Here's how you fix PvP: 1) Anytime damage is exchanged in single-combat, neither person can be attacked by anybody else unless damage does not occur for 10 seconds. Mages are boned in single-combat, because when you farcast, you aren't technically considered "in-combat" so someone can "tag" you. 2) All damage received is wiped 10 seconds after entering a safe zone. This does not mean you are healed, simply that the invisible "damage counter" that determines who gets the drop upon your death resets. 3) After receiving a kill message, you cannot be attacked for 10 seconds. This does NOT apply in multi-combat.
  13. I, personally, think it does have something to do with MechScape. I think they modified the censor so that they can just copy/paste the current coding for it into their MechScape database, instead of having to write code for a whole new censor. Jagex is known to have cut corners many times in the past, so it's not terribly far-fetched to think they'd copy segments of RS code to use for MS. As Ren said, Jagex claimed that MS is supposed to be geared towards a young adult audience, so having a censor that blocks relatively innocuous words like "damn" and "crap" would be counterproductive.
  14. Hahahah, I am lolling over what Mod Mark H said... See, if Jagex weren't greedy and actually hired sufficient Customer Support, that WOULD be true. However, they use automated software to sift through the majority of abuse reports. And quite frankly, their software SUCKS at inferring the context of a message. Many, many times in the past I've seen people muted for saying things that were totally innocent when you read the context surrounding them. So regardless of what MMH said, I highly suggest that people do not use these uncensored words in public. I do not trust Jagex when it comes to offenses, not one bit. A friend of mine (who happened to have played since RSC) was mistakenly banned for macroing TWICE. The second time, he called up Jagex HQ to complain and they more or less told him to shut up or they'd make his ban permanent. He quit the game after that incident. So I have good reason not to trust Jagex when it comes to my account.
  15. Uhh... That Lolcat had good grammar. Fail! :geek:
  16. I agree, it's quite pointless. If someone uses "password" as their password, they deserve to be hacked. The number of "brute force" hackings that occur are quite small in comparison to the number of people who are hacked by friends or keyloggers. Imo, this is just another step towards marketing the game to a younger, more naive audience.
  17. Getting a left half from a fire giant on my birthday. I sold it for 3m, which doubled my net worth at the time. \ That was also my first ever dragon drop.
  18. This is once again an example of Jagex giving in to the Politically Correct [bleep] and their lapdogs. :wall: It sickens me... You know those "symbols" in various dungeons? They used to be pentagrams. They were then changed to "demonic symbols" which were changed to what they currently are. There are other instances of the PC Cult and their lapdogs getting things changed, too... For example, Zanik's examine used to say "She kicks H.A.M. [wagon]" but they changed it because of those whining sacks of [cabbage]. I wish these people would just shut the [bleep] up already, suck it up, and leave well-enough alone.
  19. You people think that Jagex has botting under control, but they don't. The bots have just gotten smarter... They no longer pick names like xiaoming12 and they no longer wear the default outfit. They have made efforts to "blend in" better.
  20. It's fairly well-known that Peter (Zez's first name) has contact with Jagex. It's not altogether uncommon to see J-mods in 5pirit's (his rs wife) clan chat.
  21. People like you make me sick. Its because of people like you, who hoard/dump items, that the RS economy is in such a messed-up state.
  22. Dummies. You can attack the dummies in Lumbridge endlessly, but you only get like 1 exp per hit. It's theoretically possible to get 99 attack/strength with 10 HP, but what's the point?
  23. That guy who posted the key drop is a troll, anyway. :wall:
