  1. Um.. It just seems odd that I've seen several pictures of Spectral/Arcane drops but only ever two Elysian drops and NO Divine drops... That hints of varying rarity. Also, I'd like to figure out if familiars heal it... I don't think they do, but I'm not sure. And I didn't say ranged was useless: Ruby Bolts are the most efficient way to kill it, up until the last 200-300 hp... After which ranged becomes really ineffective against it.
  2. maybie even reporting for lurring would be a start...maybie a 60 second click history to see if there was any intention stuff..idk something The problem is, Jagex uses an automated program to sort through most abuse reports... They almost never take "intention" or "context" into account when assigning punishment. If you accidentally type something offensive that bypasses the censor and then immediately follow with oops typo and what you meant to say, you will still be punished for breaking Rule 1 if anyone reports you.
  3. Disclaimer: Any numbers I provided are estimates based off data I collected from spending a week down there (unfruitfully, I might add.) Oh well, at least the other day I got 95% of the drops when I went to Arma \ If any of my numbers are slightly off, I apologize. That's why they're called estimates... They're in the ballpark :?
  4. There really is no way to solve it...
  5. Okay, I am sick of so much BS that is spread about the CB, so I am going to debunk many of the rumors: 1) Prayer doesn't work. 1a) This is false. Protect from Magic sigificantly reduces the damage inflicted by his Claw attack, and it reduces the maximum hit of his Magic attack by about 10. He can still hit up to around 54 through Protect from Magic, but it's much less frequent and at any rate, a 54 is much better than a 65. Of all the people I have seen KOed by the CB, the vast majority were not using Protect from Magic. 2) Defense doesn't matter. 2a) Magic Defense makes a world of difference. I wear an Armadyl Plate, Skirt, Fury, Spectral SS, and some other garbage and am rarely hit for over 45 damage... Also, 3/4 of the time his Claw splash damage hits 0s on me. When I melee in Full Proslyte, I get hit heavily by his Claw attack and even moreso by his Magic attack, which normally averages about 45. I'd say it's fairly conclusive that MAGIC DEFENSE helps against it. 3) You cannot get your items if you die. 3a) Wrong. You have 60 seconds to retrieve your items, which is entirely doable if you are prepared. Spawn in Camelot, run to Seers, make sure your Games Necklace and T-bird/Scrolls are in the same tab... Teleport to CLAN WARS, as it's a much shorter distance to the Cave than from BH... If all goes well and you do not lag/moonwalk, you should make it back within about 45-50 seconds. 4) A team of rangers pwns it! 4a) Wrong. A team of only rangers will not do jack **** once it gets down to ~250 HP. Of all defenses, the CB seems to have the highest ranged defense. Diamond Bolts barely do jack crap to it even with Eagle Eye, 91 ranged and Pot. It takes a team of 10 level 85+ rangers about 10 minutes to take down the last 10% of its lifebar. Make sure at least a quarter of your team has melee. 5) What is the rarity of the Sigils? 5a) From all the research I've done, it seems like the Spectral and Arcane are approximately equally rare, but the Elysian is much rarer and the Divine Sigil is the rarest. I would estimate that the Spectral/Arcane drop rate is about 1/300, the Elysian is about 1/500, and I have no ****ing idea what the drop rate of the Divine is. For half the month this thing has been out and I have yet to see a Divine Sigil drop posted on any major fansite, nor have I seen anybody selling the shield/sigil on the RSOF.
  6. The Beast's maximum hit without prayer is 65. Mind you, he can one-hit you with The Claw if you aren't praying, though.
  7. You forget that the average age of the RS player is around 12-15. People at this age are immature, self-absorbed, and belligerent. Yes, many people who play RS are [wagon]. What do you want us to do about it? :? I understand if you are just venting your frustration about it, though... But in that case, it belongs in Rants.
  8. Ouch... Seriously, why are Randoms still around? :wall:
  9. What good would a list do? Jagex says that you can say youtube in game and it's also not censored... Yet one of my friends was recently given a 10 day ban for referring someone to a Jad video on YT. Bottom line: Big Brother is watching. Always mind your mouth, whether it's in Clan Chat, Public Chat, or Private Chat. Jagex Staff has the ability to intercept private chat messages and can enter into any Clan Chat, regardless of the settings... Therefore, nothing you say in game is 100% safe, so don't say anything that could potentially get you in trouble.
  10. I agree with this solution EXCEPT for one thing. The immunity to ranged and magic. Ranged still has to use black armor, which lowers its stats, and black weaponry, i.e. the knives and darts. Magic also has to use black armor which DRASTICALLY lowers its stats. But a mage can use far more powerful spells such as ancients. Therefore, the Wraith should have boosted defenses against magic, but no immunity to any combat style. Then you can safe-spot it all day and things are imbalanced. Also, ranged with black knives, ranger boots, and an accumulator kills faster than max melee + piety using a black scim and Salve. It's either remove the safe-spots or give it immunity to distance attacks. Haven't been to visit him, so I didn't know about the safe-spot. But couldn't you, instead of immunizing him to ranged and magic, give him a distance attack more powerful than his melee that he only uses if you're not up close and personal? They've done it with Cockroaches... That's one alternative...

  12. See, if they made the battle instanced but made it so that you cannot use prayer, two-handed weapons don't work (which eliminates halberds), and the Wraith is immune to ranged/magic, then it would solve all problems while still maintaining balance. But of course, that's too logical for Jagex to consider.
  13. They used to do that. Back in RS1, do you remember waiting to kill the new quest bosses? Then they came out with the flashing arrow thingy, like in Barrows. They could do that here, but then it wouldn't be multi. What Jagex wants (I believe) is to bring together the community. Laff. If that is truly their goal, then they are even more hopelessly clueless than I originally thought. If they ACTUALLY played their game, they'd know how self-absorbed the vast majority of players are... The CB brought players together, as it is so powerful that you can only hope to kill it with a large team. This, however, is easily soloable, even without prayer... Thus, there is no need for a multi-combat arena. A monster so easy that is available to anyone in the world only serves to fracture the community, not bring it together. The exact same problem was what caused all the tension at Bandos... It was the easiest GWD boss by far, thus overcrowding occurred. However, people would take large teams, so that compensated for only having one boss. With this, everybody alone is vying for a kill, so it's far more frustrating than Bandos.
  14. Qeltar has a valid complaint, as does WkW. Jagex does this same thing over and over again... And it's really bloody tiresome. They seem to enjoy fracturing the community by pitting players against each other. In almost any update that is worthwhile, they provide far too limited resources to manage the "rush" of the update crowd. Honestly, the best fix to this is to make it where everyone has their own "instance" in Wraith's realm, but "his powers have corrupted the area" so that you cannot use prayers. Also give him a ranged attack that he will only use if you try to safe-spot him. This eliminates the fierce player competition, but makes it where the difficulty of the battle is raised to compensate.
  15. Speaking of the D2 references, I immediately thought "Arreat's Face" when I saw the Helmet of Neitiznot.
  16. It drops Holy elixers. That's why.
  17. Nah. For the next couple weeks, maybe... But you have to remember these ARE a coinshare item... Which means dozens will enter the game each day after people discover an effective strategy for killing it. Anything available through coinshare becomes saturated... And once it does, the price collapses. It's only a matter of time.
  18. They are... That team just didn't have CS enabled.
  19. Which is why the price will drop fairly quickly. Most people compare them to the DFS and see that they have no strength bonus and turn their nose up at them. Also, with as many people that will be killing this beast throughout each world, dozens of sigils will enter the game each day. It'll initially have the same effect as the AGS/SGS, with a stockpile of sigils (hilts) rotting in the GE, so the price is frozen, but once it becomes unfrozen, it will drop rapidly.
  20. Proof that the CB drops sigils.
  21. I also believe these shields were a stepping stone to the new PvP equipment. I believe the AGS spec will be outclassed by a weapon they introduce with the PvP worlds, although it will degrade quickly.
  22. Theoretically, the picture of the Spectral Sigil drop is accurate. The min ge (aka CoinShare) price of the Sigil is 45m, which when divided by nine players, equals 5m.
  23. I agree with 3 Hit U. These shields are currently overpriced. I also agree that many people see the stats and go "0mgwtfz0r no str bonuses!!!!111!1" and consequently overlook them. I predict that the Elysian Shield will settle at around 50-60m, Divine at around 40-50m, Arcane at 10-20m, and Spectral at 5-15m. The Divine Shield is a bit overrated, as in PvP you put yourself at heavy risk of being smited out, and in PvM, you can have your prayer drop and be KOed.
  24. Divine and Elysian are like the best pieces of equipment out there Divine will kill your prayer too quickly to be useful in many situations. In PvP, you'll be smited out fairly easily. In PvM, if you don't watch your prayer zealously, you will have it drop and you'll probably be KOed if you are at GWD. Still, I foresee them dropping to 15m for the Arcane, 10m for the Spectral, 50m for Elysian, and 40m for Divine. People in RS are stupid and only care about damage, and since the shields have no strength bonus, many will overlook them.
