New linework, bad theme, need background!!! again...
Cheers for that J272  ... Im thinking some kinda graveyard with longish grass, uknow.. blowing around cus of the spell, sorta like what you've already got around the right guy.. Just work on the left guy and give him long stylish hair so that too can blow in the wind, in the distance have some thick fog with some spooky sillohetted figures showin, like angel statues, tombstones etc.. I gotta say that right guy is sweet, excellent linework. 8) ~Ter

How many people use paint to make sigs
Indeed. Although I did use MS Paint for my first few sigs. Here are my various reasons for using GraphicsGale instead of crappy MS paint (is anything made my Microsoft good? Doubtful... :?) -It has a larger memory of redos and undos, allowing for much more experementation with sigs. MS paint only has 5, compared to about 25 with GG. -Instead of right clicking to get your second colour (default white, like on paint), right clicking on Graphicsgale is like the pick colour tool. Which I find a helluva lot more useful. -It has a lot more saving options. -It's palette is about a million times more user friendly then MS paints. -It has layers (which I use to do watermarks). -It has a lot more zoom options. You can zoom in to 4000% and zoom out to 10%. I just don't see the point of using a more advanced program to make a small forum picture, yeh maybe if you were designing a pixel based game or website graphics but cmn.. its a small 300x150 picture, that million more colours would be useless most of the time and larger memory isn't that necissery for making sigs, but yeh a watermarker would be sweet so could be a good idea to use when you despretely dont want anyone stealing your images.

How many people use paint to make sigs
with pixel sigs id say start with paint unless you feel the need to download a better program, just remember you won't get better suddenly by using an advanced program. Pixel sigs are usually done manually without extra things added but I suppose you can mix medias, an abstract background with a pixel character in the foreground for example. use a program like adobe photoshop or paint shop pro to make other sigs (non pixel), where most people add pictures they find from the internet called 'renders'. But renders are sinned here on tip.it cus its seen as not your work, best working on backgrounds.

runny egg pixel
heh my topic is smell, I have to choose a word for each letter to illustrate smell.. I chose: S - Socks M - Manure E - Eggs L - Loo L - Lillies I have to interpret each letter into the illustration and making the yolk into a lowecase 'e' was an obvious idea .. Tho it does look kinda like a pacman but I wouldn't say it looked that 'doomish'.. It's not really a final product so the colours maybe a lil rushed, its suppose to be greyer cus its a runny 'uncooked' egg which would be see thru, I have to try out at least 10 different styles for each illustration to show that ive developed and tried new things. glad people like eggs

need help with hands.... and feet...
http://www.anticz.com/handtut.htm Ron Lemen owns or just simply draw what you see, you do have hands dun ya? oh and check this out for anything else ya need http://www.gfxartist.com/features/tutorials for a background im thinking of a wildy setting but you might wanna make it a bit more original and not have anything too complicated there..

Who are the better sig makers here?
Just wanna say, the 'best' sig makers aren't always the ones who post a few and never really visit the forum regularly. People like that are just more aware of posting something when they're totally satisfied with it, you don't usually see the 'in between' art with those people, for example with pixeling Godslayer has made a giant increase in skill since he started and he posts maybe 80% of everything he does, it may not all be excellent work but each piece shows improvement and potential. Though someone who posts something once a month or so will seem to be 'amazing' because they usually spend a considerable amount of time on each sig before they post (maybe a few minutes a day for a couple of weeks, more relaxed work  ). Im glad im known as being a good pixelator, my work hasn't been for nothing then afterall , dam tip.it is a friendly place :) . ~Ter

CC on my Pixel Art
crits from top to bottom of sketch 1) maybe alter the head shape to make it look a bit more like a humans head (not in a bad way  just a little bit too simple atm, and a tad too big), plus maybe improve the neck. this'll help http://www.hippytrippy.net/sijun/head-drawing/ 2) the shoulders need to be a slight bit bigger, the ribs need to be raised and try to make it look a bit more natural (looks too robotic). http://www.hippytrippy.net/sijun/basic- ... /index.htm again from that site :?.. 3)the arms are both odd sizes and neither are correct  , kinda like 'frankenstein's monster'.. the torso is a good size tho, im guessing that your doing what I usually do to build characters which is pretty easy when it comes to doin it on the pc. don't judge my one heh, litterally around a 1 minute job. 4) the hips usually out at the hips a bit, not just on women  but I suppose clothing will fix tha.. 5)you've got odd lengthed legs again though the whole leg proportion is basically right, only thing that messes it up is the fact that the knee's are too far down the legs and his left leg is longer than the right. Use this as a guide and try make your alterations over it in a different colour, if you are using paint you can draw over this drawing in another colour and rub out the black below by selecting black in your left colour selector and the background colour in the right, then just rub out by holding down the right mouse button. It helps when doing linework too.. I'd try resize that character cus you'd be looking at a lot of work and detail there to make it look right, any slight mistakes in the linework can add up to make the character look really odd :? , as I said it looks a bit robomatronic atm :D . Very nice tho, I suppose it'd be easier drawin it out on paper.. 6/10 so far but im just gonna ignore that you've conked up the limbs.. ~Ter :P

rate sig in process.... Update
I gotta say that your desk is pretty big, 90% of the sig is horribly out of proportion but I suppose its a alright quality atm. I'd say actually look at a desk with someone sat next to it and make yourself comfortable with drawing it before you start to draw out something on the pc to be displayed on a discussion section of a forum.. I like that idea alot, cus its got alot to it with such potential of being crammed with detail, you just need more true to rl proportions and better use of colour and shade.. the perspective is fine unless you wanted to look more like a photo  reminds me of mario or sonic (platform based games) which cud be a good thing. I'd leave it how it is unless ya wanna add some more detail and textures, just use your newly found knowledge to make your next one greater.. over time you'll find you will get much better :D and won't need as much crits.

runny egg pixel
im doing graphic design and had to pick 10 different styles to illustrate eggs, my topic is 'the five senses' and this is kinda a smell/taste illustration.. version printed to be used actual pixels Not a final piece though, just ideas as if I were to jot down some sketches to help me work myself towards a final product. just posted to show ya im still here, just workin on collge related work now :(..

Linework Help needed! C/C if u must :P
5 min illustration on how I'd go about drawin one of those guys, dun judge my skills here cus I rushed.. first start off with a stick man like this, make sure you add in shoulders and hips into it cus it builds up to make good anatomy most of the time. see? It works with side on characters too, just check out my sig and you can imagine how those two characters in the back were made. 8) , tho they were done yonks agoo.

mouse or tablet
u can only really use tablets for sketching and adding textures, using a mouse is more accurate and much easier to use.. I wouldn't say tablets = better pixeling cus it doesn't make you a better drawer suddenly, its like giving someone who can't use a weapon to save his life a bigger gun.. i've used a tablet many times before and I found it no better than just using the mouse, its just how control your mouse skills are compared to general drawing with a pencil (or a tablet pen). Tablets are generally for people who can use em well, otherwise I wouldnt fuss about getting one when you can just scan in a pencil sketch.

pixalieing help plox
1) If im selling it, the time I take on the sig depends on how much im gettin paid.. But if it's a personal project it could be up to a few weeks if I have the time (haven't had the time lately so its normally only at most 2 days  ).. 2) I work on the linework first then gradually colour and shade certain parts of the sig till im complete, usually the characters first.. for detail its best to do it pixel by pixel but you can use the line tool or fill in tool. 3) I only really do freehand drawing for sketching the sig on the pc (not scanned in pencil sketches, takes too long usually) tho you can draw with the pencil tool to add textures like on rocks, grass, hair etc but dont use pencil tool for linework cus its just too messy.. ok? :P oh and paint is all ya need, don't waste ya time tryin to find a really good program cus its usually an advancement to what you can do in paint, only for when you think your quite good.. better programs don't mean better pixel art.. don't take my current sig to be my usual work, its like a year old and I've got much better in my shop. I just like it cus it works well and has a slight humour to it 8) .

ogre sketch (zombie added)
I recon the ogre looks too much like a bhuda but nice pic anyway, I really like that zombie and maybe that 'tilted head' gives it more of a freaky look to add to the zombie thing..

-Volcom-'s Been Doing Some Ripping?
I may try that out, but I wouldn't really be bothered I dun think.. I sampled mine so selling it would be stupid, the buyer would want an unsampled version wouldnt they.. reporting fake volcom would be more up to mxman or kindy dave cus they aren't sampled at all.

WIPP by ter
Im considering turnin him into a scotsman, a kilt with that sword.. kinda like on braveheart..

WIPP by ter
Heh im going for a more child friendly character  , ya see im doing graphic design now in college and im just practicing illustrations which involves targeting a cerain audience (whether it may be to children or the elderly.). good idea though  oh and I tried to make it non runescape related but it seemed a bit boring with no sword :? , whats wrong with me  ..

WIPP by ter
just a little character, not finished all the shading.. any ideas? change of clothing, something more interesting? add a cape? and what should I do for a background. its a wip btw so I know the legs and feet look odd, I usually try fix those flaws as im doing it.

A New Badly Shaded Piece Of Art ;P
I gotta say I like how ya spend ages making a sig just to entertain the people bothered to search through this forum  , me being one of those people am very entertained, the shadin aint that bad really, just some things that could be improved which you most likely know of.. you honestly don't need too much shading on cartoons only when it looks like it should be like that, my advice is to get godslayer to send ya a tut or a few pointers on AA and try stick to limited shading.. your cartoons don't need em  . work on your idea's and actual artwork (linwework, basically the drawing itself..)..

-Volcom-'s Been Doing Some Ripping?
