product placement as an alternative to microtransactions?

People already complained that something like the SOF Ice Cream Cone Hat breaks immersion... what about a Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Cone Hat? -
With the Evolution of Combat, there are no armours that give offensive bonuses anymore in F2P, only defensive. Offense is only affected by weapons and neck items in F2P I believe (unless I am mistaken). Your attack stat dictates what weapons you can use, on top of a small accuracy bonus (smaller than the bonus from your weapon). It will be calculated in your combat level only if it is your highest stat out of ranged/mage/attack/strength.

If someone ever gets 200m prayer in F2P with current methods, that would be insane.

On the other hand, Jake lost 700 hours. Is that because of the new xp rate for fishing?

November 19th. Not like too many people care, by the looks of it.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Discussion Thread

You know, some people will attack you because you have exotic armour on and you're riding an undead horse. -
Most medieval and renaissance art (and all other artistic eras, really) tend to display the human form with as little emphasis as possible on genitalia (especially female genitalia). There have been works of art that have had an erotic emphasis to them (I'd give examples, but they are NSFW), and they have been shunned and criticized by mainstream art critics. Most of them were usually commisioned by some guy with too much money in his hands. On the other hand, modern "lad mags" use breasts and genitalia as the centrepiece. Even if Manet painted a nude playboy bunny with her legs splayed wide 100 years ago, people would still consider it pornography.

5-Feb-2013 - Sinkholes + EoC Improvements

They're upping the power of DW weapons, by the looks of it. -
There was some debate about it before in the top 250 list, and most people (including Lord Slaya) were alright with accepting people that have been in the trial. Will there be people that won't consider them pure F2P? Of course. I'm guessing Jagex realized limiting mem trials did nothing against gold farmers and hurt normal players.

Nico Vega - Beast The original is too heavy for me, but the acoustic version sounds like something you'd hear in the Great Depression.
-
The general consensus is that if you've taken advantage of the Trial in any way, you're not pure F2P anymore. If you've spent your entire trial on an F2P world, though, people don't mind that. Do you get two P2P trials if you've created two accounts one after the other? When this promotion first came out, it used to be one mem trial/IP address or something like that.

After seeing the video, it looks like she using Genghis Khan as an example of a "hyperagent" (think that's the word she used) that took massive risks. That makes more sense, although I would say that the risk Genghis Khan took was above and beyond what any normal "hyperagent" would take, although I am arguing minor semantics here.
-
^ Joke btw. On a different note, while I haven't seen the video yet, can you really compare Genghis Khan to a modern "agent"? Most of his children came from acts of rape as he pillaged most of Asia. Most women won't want to bear the child of such an individual as it gives her no choice over who the parent is, while also leaving her likely injured and alone. A modern "agent", the type that is most likely to be the target of "betaization" would use "charm" and "playing the game" to achieve reproduction. That is nothing like Genghis Khan as he is described in historical records.

I am also part of the undefined group. Originally had a resolution where I wanted to get my friend to hook up with somebody for once, but I didn't even need to intervene; the goal was accomplished before New Years rang.

So does this armour even see much use? Horrible stats on it, with the only saving grace being the extra xp against demons.

Actually, coinshare is more of a cash sink. It gives you instant money at 95% GE price, but then puts the item up on the GE at 100% price. When the person buys the item, it takes out the money he bought the item for, therefore taking out more money than it brought in. While coinshare does act as a cash sink assuming that the trading value and ge value are identical, many teams will seek to abuse coinshare when the trading value is much lower than ge value, and avoid it when trading value is higher. Since these differences in prices can last for a long time (see spirit shields/nex gear at the end of last year) I'd assume it ends up bringing in more cash than it takes out. Let's say we have an item worth 60m GE price, 30m street price. Naturally, the team decides to coinshare the item, gaining 57m in the process, and the item is placed in the GE for 60m. Unless Jagex made it so coinshared items decrease in value over time after they've been placed on the market, the price of the item will stay at 60m until bought. Of course, if the coinshared item's price fluctuates after it was placed in the GE, then you are right.

When the person buys the item, it takes out the money he bought the item for, therefore taking out more money than it brought in. Only a very slight money sink seeing as the net difference is only 5% of the value. Sure on 200m items that's like 10m, but relative to the 190m 10m is a pitance. My point was that it did the opposite to bringing in pure GP.

Is that really that bad? That's kind of how RS skills work. When rune armour was the highest levelled armour in the game, people that decided to level past level 40 had an advantage when dragon armour etc. was released.
