  1. If you enjoy it and want to make a career out of it, then I have no problem with that. I don't really have a problem with just doing any degree you want, It's just that at £3290 a year for tuition, it's not really a lot of money, so many people will put themselves in £10,000+ of debt doing a course they don't like and for no reason. They are cutting university funding. My university for instance is receiving 70% cuts, which is one of the 'medium' levels. Another university is receiving 85% cuts. It's not improving University quality, it's shutting out and prohibiting entry for those less well off.
  2. Universities in America, just by googling it cost around $10,000 and upwards just for the tuition fees. So I would say that it's a similar situation. I do not agree with the rise of tuition fees, and I was at the first protest, but thinking about it recently, It's actually a good idea. With fees starting from £9000, people will actually choose courses at university because they want to do them - it will make people think about what they want to do more. I know a few people who joined a course because they thought it would be fun, not because they thought they would get a career out of it, and this is the kind of thing the tuition fee increase will obliterate.
  3. He made a statement in a good way. Thanks :) Since I'm only like 10 minutes driving distance away I thought that I might as well go (and considering that my uni will get 70% cuts if they go ahead, which is more than likely after the Millbank incident) Thanks :) It was a good event, quite exciting to see such a large amount of people gathered for a common cause (It's my first ever protest).
  4. Thanks for looking :) I looked on the BBC earlier for pictures but they didn't have many, so thanks for posting that link! I changed the image and forgot to remove that text. The image I originally had was funny but would have been taken down anyway. Thanks :) I noticed that the same man was also featured on the BBC website. Good for him!
  5. As the title says, these are some photos that I took at the Student Demonstration which took place today (10/11/10) in London. I was not there for the riot at Millbank unfortunately, so did not capture any images from there. [hide=Class of 2012][/hide] [hide=Protest Architecture][/hide] [hide=In Unison][/hide] [hide=Big brother Is watching][/hide] [hide=Not Made Of Money][/hide] And an extra one: Constructive criticism is greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking. NOTE: Due to the overwhelming amount of boards that had... creative twists, almost every other picture of the actual march cannot be posted here without editing.
  6. Women mature faster than men. I wouldn't see it as a problem however. If you truly and deeply want a relationship with the person, you shouldn't be having second thoughts about what other people might think of it.
  7. 38,450 xp/h. Not that good but I've never really been focused anyway so not surprised.
  8. Tell him to grow up. Alternatively, tell him that if he has something to say about the situation, then he should just say it, rather than make sly comments.
  9. I don't really feel comfortable with that, and I'm not sure I could pull it off. Since I'd only have one shot anyway I think it'd be better to ask 'A' to be my wingwoman. Thanks for the help everyone. Buy yourselves each a cookie and have it on me
  10. This is incredibly short notice, but I hope someone can help my 'situation'. It's self inflicted really, but I can play it out in my mind and it goes wrong every time. Just so you know, Woman 'B' is the only one who I am trying to enter a relationship with. 'A' is already in a relationship, so off limits. Basically, today (half past midnight GMT, wednesday, right now) I am going to a party, with 'A' and she is requiring that I stay with her the whole night. Yesterday (Tuesday) I continued flirting with 'B' and it ended up with me persuading her to come out tonight instead. As it's a Where's Wally (Waldo) party, I've given 'B' a game - she has to find me (We're going to a club at around 11pm, she is arriving after that and has to find me) in the club. The problem here is that 'A' is a good friend, so if I go off and spend my night with 'B', she might feel left out. Conversely, if 'B' finds me dancing with 'A', she might assume that I'm trying to 'get' with 'A'. I didn't ask to be with 'A' the entire night, she has basically told me that I'm with her for the entire night. Anyway. I don't need advice on how to 'Pull' as I'd say I'm basically there, I just need advice on how to handle this... most unfortunate of circumstances in a way which will not alienate 'A' and not send 'B' away. All help is greatly appreciated.
  11. Ordered Feeder's 'Silent Cry US advance promo' disc. Wasn't cheap, but so worth it.
  12. Just Pre-ordered GT5. Really wanted to get the Signature edition, but I decided against it.
  13. I can now close a CoC #2 (rated at 195lbs of lateral pressure) with a braced close. (for those who don't know, a braced close is where you place your other thumb between the handle resting in your palm and your 'thumb pad'. This reduces the movement that the handle can make, thus preventing it from moving too far and ruining the close). For now I'm going to accept that that is the best I can do (as in, I can't close it without my other thumb positioned). Therefore I'm going to move up to the #2.5 and hopefully close that in a braced position in around a month or two. I expect that I will be able to close the #2 without being braced within a month. Since braced closes don't count when going for certification, this is going to be the hardest part.

Sometimes I actually prefer DVDs over Blu-ray. Blu-ray makes it much easier to spot mistakes in Post Production. An example I have noticed is the sequence with Tobey Maguire in Spiderman 3, where he struts down a New York street. He enters a shop to buy some new clothes, and the doors swing open as soon as they close. In the Blu-ray version you can see where they've faded the shot out (you can see the doors open past the fading doors of the shot they replace). If I've ruined your viewing experience of Spiderman 3, I apologise. I do like the increase in Sound Quality however, as DVDs hooked up to my system don't have the same 'oomph' as Blu-ray disks do. My only 'Full HD' screen is m Laptop's screen, and at 15.6 inches, isn't easy to watch from a distance, so Blu-Ray versions of animated features look so much better. I probably wouldn't bother though if I had a much bigger screen.

  16. Thanks. I'm hoping to get a few more before I finish RuneScape for good. Thanks :) Good luck with your goals. I would slay, but I decided that since my time on RuneScape is limited, I may as well enjoy it.
  17. Thanks :) I chose to catch butterflies rather than do red chinchompas because the chins annoyed me :P
  18. Well, it's my 14th 99, what do you want? My next 99 will probably be Smithing and if I still have time, then 99 Fishing. I doubt I will ever max my total level. It would be nice, but I've just started University, and have to focus myself on my education rather than on a game. Anyway, Rate/Hate/Point out Flamebait.
  19. xKore - Muff The only Dubstep track that I like.
  20. You shouldn't be using them when at a desk, they should be isolated from other activities, like any other exercise. You don't play games while doing deadlifts, and the same applies to grippers. Doing endless reps with a sports shop gripper is not going to do anything for you, much like sitting at a desk with a gripper will not do anything for you (unless you happen to use a desk for training, in some bizarre manner). EDIT: This post sounds quite hostile, but it's not meant to be.
  21. ~D. V. "You realize if I was going to ask the staff, I had to include a joke-starter... LOL" Devnull I cannot answer that 'question' as it is not in fact a question. The last point ends with an exclamation mark, and is therefore a statement not a question, but thanks anyway.
  22. To be honest, the lens doesn't matter as much s your creativity and ambition. You can make good shots with any lens, but without creativity or ambition you're not going to take good shots whether or not you have 'good' lenses. The 500D is a perfectly good camera, and the kit lens (18-55) is one of the best kit lenses I've ever seen (well, except for the kit lenses on higher end cameras). My Telephoto lens is criticised by almost everyone, but the shots it produces for me are stunning. I will say however, that you shouldn't buy more lenses at least for another month. Get to know your camera well, know what you like to take pictures of, then base your choices around that. Since I have had my camera, I've only bought two lenses. One was a Sigma 10-20mm UWA lens, as I do landscape photography, the other was the cheapo plastic-fantastic Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 for low light photography.
  23. It's good that you're experimenting, but, to get decent shots, you have to get outside and up close to the plants. I assume since you have a 500D that you also got the IS kit lens? It's not an amazing piece of kit, but it does have a decent minimum focus distance (For instance, this shot was taken at 55mm with the Kit Lens: http://ben-morrissey.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d28rpfz). I would make the suggestion that you focus on a part of the flower though, rather than just the flower itself. The stigma perhaps? Anyway, the last shot is nice. With the Fuschias you'll want to get closer, and seperate one off from the rest.
  24. It's more to do with how it affects a woman's figure, rather than the ass itself, if that makes sense. That's my opinion anyway.
