SLI and Crossfire
SLi is Nvidia's term for their cards, Crossfire (and Crossfire X) is AMD's term for their cards. They are essentially the same thing, just done in a different way. It is used for both purposes you mentioned. People who need more monitors will use it for that, and those who want ridiculous performance in games on one screen (going to up to resolutions like 2560x1600, for instance) will use either system.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
The ignorant teenager meme would be very applicable here - 'I know I'm being irrational, but I'm still right' If she's going to do that to you, then get ridiculously annoyed over that (which I would quantify as a lesser issue), she has serious double standard problems. Really not worth your time, and you can't change that. If you like her as a friend, then keep her as a friend, but I'd suggest looking for someone else.

48÷2(9+3) = ????
Using the bodmas order of operations (division and multiplication being interchangeable, and using the left to right rule otherwise), I got 288.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
It is nice to have someone to talk to and support you, but if it's always about one person it will never work out. A relationship is about give and take in equal measure, not take take take and give a little.

TIF is bit over-moderated
He moved it to the correct forum. I hardly see how that is over-zealous moderation. Do you want to see just one section covering every single board we currently have here? It would be chaos. In regards to the reporting system, moderators cannot possibly look at every single post over every board every single day. The reason emergency service numbers exist is so that if you need help, they will come to you. No-one expects to be followed all the time by a police officer, so I hardly see how you can expect us to do exactly the same. Obviously, when we come across these issues ourselves, we deal with them, but the ability for users to aid moderators is invaluable, in my opinion. Like Tripsis mentioned above, you can debate as much as you want with a moderator, as long as you don't start flaming or personally attacking them. Same goes for any other user. If they are subject to flaming through private messages, they can pass it on to us and we can deal with the situation. Also, if a moderator is the subject of a personal attack, they are not allowed to deal with it themselves. I have had a personal attack before, just after I became a mod, and obviously I did not deal with it. I was however blamed when said person was banned temporarily, despite the fact that the decision had nothing to do with me at all, and I did not have the ability to ban the person. ^That last bit isn't supposed to 'big myself up' or whatever, I'm just trying to give an actual example of moderator policy - it's there to stop bias.

A shot at Photography..
Just thought I'd add in that JPEG is designed to utilise lossy compression - but only when it's told to. If using Photoshop, you can choose the level of compression, and therefore retain quality. If you were using Microsoft's Paint tool, you would lose quality quickly. PNG is fine for thumbnails, but full sized images saved in the PNG format are ridiculously large because the compression algorithm is lossless (and therefore it is limited). Example settings for saving JPEGs: Quality: 12 Format Options: Progressive (Scans set to 5)

Things you don't like on your opposite sex
Physically: Loud women, to a point. Smoking. No grasp on their limits with alcohol. Fair enough, you want to drink, just realise how much you're having and the state you're going to be in if you continue. Attention Seeking. The 'I'm fat' women. Those who think they are fat when they are normal size. Anorexia/Bulimia. Wind/Flatulence. Does this need explaining? Mentally: Low self-esteem. Those who decide that because I know enough about technology to get me by, that I am a geek or nerd. Those who don't want to do anything (I know three people like this, and it actually depresses me being around people who can't do something spontaneous, yet they moan about their borings lives). Shallowness. Moan about something but don't bother trying to change it regardless of whether they have the means or capability or not. Closed-offness. Shy is fine, but when you won't open up to anyone, it really isn't a good sign. That's all I can think of for now. To be honest though, most of the 'mental' ones can apply to male friends as well.

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
@Ezkaton Since I ended my last relationship I've felt pretty down, and I did have a breakdown quite recently. What i've found it boils down to is holding my emotion in and not speaking to anyone. I basically spoke to my closest friend about it, and she gave me the comfort of just listening to what I had to say, and give me her advice. Since then I've felt better. For me at least, just being around someone I can trust and love platonically really improves my happiness. While it may seem obvious, I chose not to speak to her about it because she recently split up with her boyfriend (also one of my housemates), but we just had a chat about ourselves to each other. So, whilst it will hurt, it's also a good idea to just talk to your friends. Most romantic relationships people have won't last forever, but friendships should.

Do you look down on untrimmed Cooking capes?
Hi, I moved your topic to the section where it most fits :) On topic: Yes, I do.

[Real] 01-Apr-2011 - Behind the Scenes - April
Thanksgiving. Traditionally American and brought into RuneScape as a festive event, despite the fact that they are a British company. It does annoy me when people try and bandy about statements like that. I have no affection for the British monarchy, but it is a British event, and therefore a company based in England has every right to celebrate it. Don't like it? Quit for a month. Oh and by the way, I'm British.

200M in all Skills
That would negate the validity of his account, since you know, it is against Jagex's rules. If Suomi was careless enough (not implying that he is) to RWT $7500 worth of gp, then he wouldn't care enough to have raised his account this high. On topic: The way in which money is acquired and accrued is a vital consideration for anyone considering a feat in the magnitude of 200 million xp in all skills. Suomi has asked people to donate to him. He has not coerced anyone into donating to him, and people that do donate do so because they want to help. Some may challenge donations as a money making method and devalue the achievements of individuals who have gained a lot of xp through donated money, but you have to remember that once someone has made money, it is theirs. If they choose to donate to another player, it is their choice, and therefore shouldn't even be considered invalid or less worthy. The only reason people say it's bad is because they have a different (not false) sense of achievement. I'm sure if any of the other top players asked for donations that they would also receive a lot, but it is the person's choice which affects his or her gameplay, no-one elses.

Name Length
I changed my name once, and I'm not changing it again. If I was going to change it, it would be back to what it was originally.

Getting bored
Hi, I have moved your thread to the relevant section so that you may get a better answer :)

An "inside job" ?
I really can't see why everyone is so appalled about Jagex not rolling it back. Over a long enough timeline, everyone who goes to the corporeal beast will get many sigils All this error did is move that timeline ahead for a few people. Yet it caused mass panic. The corporeal beast has been out for two and a half years, so I cannot fathom as to why an hour's worth (or less) of sigils would make such a difference. And then there is the even bigger step of conspiracy theories. I do admit that the error should not have existed at all (given that QC had a decent amount of time to get all possibilities done) but it happened and that's that.

[POLL] Is Dungeoneering a FAILURE?
It's not a skill in the traditional sense of RuneScape. That doesn't mean I'm saying it is bad, but to me it feels more like a minigame (and I consider it as such), and I really dislike minigames.

How are you preparing for Bonus XP Weekend?
Herblore until I hit 92 herblore, slayer until the multiplier hits 1.1, then summoning until i run of charms. After that, back to slayer.

best agility xp at lv 58?
I have moved your topic to help and advice as you're more likely to get a response here :) Also, when I trained to 99 agility, I did wildy from 52 to 74. You will have to consider pkers there however. If you deem the wildy course unfit for your use, then ape atoll would be your best option.

200M in all Skills
Wouldn't it be better for Tezz (or anyone really) to use bonus xp until at least it goes down to 2 multiplier before training a skill which is stuck at 1.1x? I mean, it's three hours taken away from training summoning, but it's not a slow skill anyway, so using 2.7x-2x could save that time elsewhere. Just a thought.

200M in all Skills
I think the point was to show how fast it can be, not over a very sustained period of time. For instance, the xp/hr is ridiculous when making demonic thrones to 200mil construction xp, but it also costs 186bil to do. It cannot be sustained seriously for any period of time, since it is not economical to do so, but it is still possible and still a method. Also, if the rate is 350-400 an hour, you can get a decent sized task done in half an hour, and I see people 'wasting' hours of time on rs by not playing efficiently. You could maybe ask a friend if you could do it once, but as you say, over a long amount of time you aren't going to be able to use this method.

What annoys you the most on RuneScape?
The most common spelling 'mistakes' or incorrect usages. Such as Barrowing (above) and Lending when meaning borrowing (I used to see this a lot, which really irritated me). I don't mind general typos, but it really gets on my nerves when players don't even make the effort to make sense.

Dice game
It's about sample size, really. For instance, I flip a coin once, and it lands on heads. Therefore, the ratio of heads to tails is 1:0. I flip it again, and it's heads, so it's now 2:0. A third time brings up tails, so it's now 2:1. Obviously, there are two sides, and the likelihood of getting either is 50/50, but since I haven't allowed for a decent sample size in my analysis, on a technical basis, heads will come up more. You can't guarantee winning money on any bet. Even at 99%, it's still a chance. Whilst you can make money on any bet you do, it's almost always going to be favoured against you, since the host will need to maintain losses and wins (wins b gamblers are losses for the hosts). 50/50 is the highest chance you'll get in any game (like boxing at maxed melee), and it's here that systems like Martingale can actually work on a realistic level. Even then, the ability to win is based on having an infinite supply of cash, since even though the chance is high, you're not guaranteed to ever win, and if you keep doubling up money, it can quickly accumulate to a ridiculous level (for instance, work out the amount of cash you'd have if your parents gave you pocket money which doubled every day, for a month, accumulating and starting from 1 cent or penny).

Graphics Cards
It depends on what laptop you have really. Since you have a 6550, I don't expect it to be able to be changed. Even on higher end laptops it's not simple, thermal design and power compromises mean you have limited choice.
