Does the internet change the way you act?
Very different. It's not so much a persona as a channel for things I love that nobody else does in real life. As a general rule, I'm more towards the normal spectrum in real life in terms of what I'm talking about and what I do. However, there are many more people with similar interests online; as a result, I'm more open about what I like without feeling awkward or anything like that.

People Who Secretly Have No Life
I'm rather open about the fact that socialising exhausts me. I don't mind it, I'm not too bad at it - it's exhausting for me. Also, anti-social has a different meaning instead of what most people believe. It's when you go out and mess stuff up for everyone else rather than just being introverted.

[TF2] It's MANN Vs. Machine!
TF2 is not really that hard to get good at. Play a lot of games and you'll get the hang of it.

Gay Marrige
Here we go. When someone comes up with a valid argument please tell me. I think this should be an absolute non-issue in 2010 because, well, look at the ****ing calendar.

The Metal Thread
New Sigh is symphonic metal. It's not necessarily a power metal subgenre - pretty much anything with grand keyboard lines and other elements from classical music generally makes symphonic metal. It even has a bunch of sub-subgenres too. It's mad. However, good symphonic metal isn't common, yeah. I liked Nightwish a lot too back in the day. You'd probably enjoy Kamelot too, Gallade - still enjoy their music almost four years later: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wRreoNRGwk

Kritz at the first choke, stage 3 Dustbowl. Works every single time and it's even better if you can time it so you can be coming down from spawn just as they're capping.

Netscape ISP question
Ah right. Almost everyone I know from Canada has stable, low-latency connections and the like. They've only just introduced 100/100 in two cities here and I'm sure it will never come out rurally where I am.

Blu-Ray and you
Blu-Ray for anime is horribly hit and miss. A lot of it is badly upscaled, so you need to make it downscale for it to look decent. When you do that, it does look great though. It's very near lossless so clean series look fantastic. Not much of a difference for your typical epilepsy-inducing stuff though.

Netscape ISP question
Pretty sure Canada has some of the best internet in the Americas so there are probably other options available and some even cheaper, too.

Manga/Anime Discussion
90s was the best decade for animation quality but late 80s stuff is okay as well.

Good computer for my brother?

Wow... that is some poor showing. I've never had a problem with Dell's EU support at all but I guess it isn't the same everywhere. Thanks.

They seem pretty good. I think the new spy knife is useless with anything except the DR. I was just using it now with the normal watch and then the DR, and I did quite well with the second combo. The DR nicely negates the disadvantage of being disguised by the knife because you can get killed, cloak and appear behind everyone and chainstab again. I think it's quite balanced on its own because you can't hear it at all whereas the DR is impossible to hear in battle. But yeah, as I said, largely useless without the DR because you can't disguise yourself at will.

Good computer for my brother?
All Sbrideau ever does is come in here and criticise literally everything that everyone else uses anyway so whatever. Only company I've had a problem with is ASUS but then it's related to LG seeing as they make 99% of the LCD panels these days. Actual monitor electronics were fine but it had an oversaturated tint and several stuck pixels. Support was okay but not Dell level, not anywhere near. At least if you get a Dell and it goes wrong, you know you've got good support backing you. My friend said he got a dodgy Dell IPS and they sent him out a new one immediately after he complained and was allowed to keep his current one until the non-defective unit arrived. I've not had any problems with Dell's support either, always was helpful. I would say they're back in the game and have been for a while now. It's not 2007 any more. Not to mention the parts in Dells aren't 100% their own so maybe you should blame Hitachi for bad HDDs and whoever makes the motherboards for bad motherboards.

[TF2] It's MANN Vs. Machine!
I have to say this is all growing on me quite a bit. At the end of the day, I don't want it to be another Counter-Strike and it's TF2. There's a lot wrong with TF2, but I do genuinely love the game and wouldn't want it any other way. Scout's stuff isn't that bad after playing against people with it. As a scout who uses the vanilla layout then I can't say it's overpowered and it actually puts them at a disadvantage. Shortstop seems to do a bit too much damage at long-range though. It's not quite so brilliant when you're playing soldier though - got killed when I was ahead purely because it fires so fast and the falloff is a bit broken. Milk isn't too bad if you're scout v. scout because you can still 2-shot people and consistent scouts are very rare in public games. It's more of a problem with the slower classes and snipers. I main scout so balance issues don't generally affect me as much as others. Please don't buff engineer though Valve, they're already strong enough.

How many true friends do you have?
None.

[TF2] It's MANN Vs. Machine!
There aren't any of them that I get a decent ping time to. Maybe I should suck it up and play vanilla over the pond or something, I don't know. It would definitely be nice to play on a proper server again but I'm going to take a break for now anyway. I'm seeing this game as incredibly silly and dumbed-down now, even compared to what it was when I picked it up again at the start of the year. [e: found a bunch of EU servers hiding somewhere which I might check out] But yeah. Ignore me because I'm just bitter. I have to say I'm mostly pissed off about the Scout pack in terms of gameplay because I actually had to learn how to be decent at it. I saw someone with the new gun + milk survive a full-on encounter with a heavy last night. I chose to main Scout because I don't like my games to be easy and now this comes along and turns a class I actually had to work at into casual crap. [i actually wrote a longer post but I just woke up and hadn't straightened my thoughts out yet] Store isn't a big deal for me because it's optional. I don't think it's that bad. I'll probably check it out after the fixes have gone in so that I won't rage but I'll take a break for now.

[TF2] It's MANN Vs. Machine!
I played for an hour and a half after the update and it has lost a lot of appeal now. Too much stuff. It's a goddamn FPS, not an MMO. Christ. And that is my biggest problem with this game - instead of working with what they already had, they keep adding new stuff which usually does nothing but affect the experience negatively. I can't even keep up - everything default is perfectly fine and they should have fine-tuned the game around those things and quit with all the dumbed-down elements. Marketing this game to casuals is not something I would have done because it is still a fantastic competitive game, but Valve insist on working against people who enjoy bettering themselves and trying to play properly in favour of people wanting it easy. It is now really hard to get any practice done in pub and it will be for a while. Also Source is a kind of bad engine for multiplayer - I feel punished because my connection is good and the hitboxes are so stupid as well. That's a different point for a different time, however. Some of you are going to rage at me for being "no fun" but honestly I have more fun when I have to try and win rather than just going easy mode and getting a million points and dominations. It's not what this game is about for me.

[TF2] It's MANN Vs. Machine!
Yeah, it's sensible. It's not like it's game-changing stuff anyway - most of it is novelty and there for fun. I wouldn't mind it if they kept it this way at all but yeah, not fond of them myself either. Also these things are really simple to craft so you can do whatever. I feel the minigame should be free though but whatever. Can't wait to see the inevitable whine about this stuff though. I will say The Holy Mackerel is one of the best additions this game has ever had.

You can buy weapons. And it's quite expensive, which is probably some kind of tactic to wean people off buying everything and screwing over the balance, I don't know. It feels out-of-place in an FPS but I'm not too bothered right now unless they start charging for new content when the game was and will be perfectly fun to play without it.

[TF2] It's MANN Vs. Machine!
Payload is always boring. You roll the other team on offence and get rolled on defence. Repeat ad-nauseum. The game is kind of screwed up right now. I went to forward TF2's ports to test trading and now it's down again. I'm going to wait a few hours, I think. And yes, micro-transactions just makes me think about bad MMOs and Activision, which will give me nightmares for a while.
