Don't think 40 or 50 are going to cause lag issues at all. My CPU hits that when playing games and it still performs fine. Also, I know people with Q6600s (hot quads!) where the temperatures are 55-65 degrees with no impact on performance. I would take out that RAM chip because it needs to be balanced to work best (dual/triple channel). See how your performance goes and post here as to whether or not it made a difference.

Yep. Samsung panels are quite nice so maybe check them out. Look for one that doesn't bleed, and tear too much when fast images are being shown.

Doing what you do and posting like "indie music is indie because it sucks and nobody likes it" - I'm aware that you're most likely having a sarcastic crack but it's not really warranted and doesn't add anything. Normally, I wouldn't have taken an issue; however, this is "Music, Movies and Television". I see this as a forum where you can discuss what you like and what you don't like as much as you want, although it does need to be kept within reasonable bounds. It's not your taste I'm actually taking an issue with, or even you yourself; just how you present your posts in this forum. It looks kind of arrogant, for want of a better word. The following section isn't actually directed at anyone; it's more general. I don't want to come off as a pretentious jerk-off, so take it lightly. "I don't particularly enjoy independent or underground music that much. I find I tend to enjoy more mainstream-oriented music because of x reason, y reason and z reason." is a perfectly agreeable and respectful response. Problems arise when someone decides to go out of their way and be a complete tool and act like "your taste sucks 'cause you listen to AC/DC; get some Boring Post-Rock Band #3331 on instead". Then the whole argument spirals out of control and becomes completely pointless, like every argument over music. People take delight in arguing over subjective crap all the time, an argument that neither side can win. You get frustrated and there's no satisfaction from winning the argument because you actually can't. I don't have much against bold statements as long as you're prepared to stand by them and not give in or act all "well it's just too deep for you" when someone disagrees. Discourse about music is pretty much fine but debating and arguing completely subjective points doesn't belong. This post is useless because it's not like anyone is going to listen to what I have to say but I felt I needed to post it. Summary: this forum is inherently subjective. Arguing s**ts up the board and gets on everyone's nerves.

Everyone who has enough bandwidth and a decent amount of HDD space. FLAC is great for keeping an archive, but there's not really a justifiable quality difference over 320kbps/V0 MP3. It almost always ensures that you are getting a good rip of the album too. If you don't rip your CDs in lossless, you should have them taken off you and given to someone who knows what's crackin'. EAC + FLAC + log (and maybe .cue) always.

I go through a router every 2 years or so. Cheap parts and such. 7 computers on wireless is probably going to cause some congestion. I have 5 on my network and it suffers quite a few lockups - maybe that's my router's problem though.

What a dumb statement. What's to say that a pop group that didn't write their own songs don't deserve the credit they get? Performance is a part of music as much as composing is. On a different note, a lot of jazz musicians didn't perform their own music. Does that make them overrated? I don't think so. Also, Guns n' Roses has to be one of the worst bands to ever grace this Earth. Slash is an insipid guitarist. And you aren't helping by s**tposting in an already bad section of the board.

5 Centimeters Per Second killed me.

#1 - You don't even need to DBAN. You can use the Windows utility and it will work fine. #2 - Doesn't really matter. I find it easier just to keep it all in C:\, but you can definitely specify another drive/partition for programs; i.e., when you install something, use something like D:\Programs\* instead of the default. Actually partitioning the drive will require something such as GParted, which is simple to use. Be sure to defragment before you attempt to resize/create. #3 - Graphics card; drivers on the CD will be outdated so download the ones from ATi's site or let Windows Update find them. Windows Update will also find drivers for other things if it's necessary. #4 - Generally not a good idea. It's always best to reinstall; you can usually create a backup of your settings for things like browsers, IRC, and so on.

They aren't. I had a G11 which broke after 6 months.

RIP, Nujabes. You're sorely missed. One of the better lists right here.

...and by running Crysis, it would burn the guy's house down. Laptops are not meant for that sort of thing; those high-spec £2000 gaming laptops still generally suffer from horrendous heat problems, especially since they have more powerful components that will be stressed harder in a small space. I don't know what it is with people and expecting laptops to run games well; the short answer is they won't, and you're better off with a desktop if you're serious about gaming. I don't know what it is with laptops in general, actually. Anything remotely powerful is 17"+ and really heavy to carry around all day, so I don't understand why people want them other than space constraints. In short: got space/playing games? Desktop. I believe that most people who say they need a laptop for portability don't actually take it anywhere other than between their desk and their bed. I'm just a hater. It should run Warcraft fine and I would be worried if it didn't.

Agreed. I've not actually noticed much difference myself. My speeds and ping times are about the same as they are when I use a cable, but this isn't true for everyone. It's a very, very minor difference for me.

Why is that? I see no problems in having Vista. Are you saying that because you have Vista on a computer that's from the pre-Vista era? Pretty sure he's joking.

There's worse stuff you could be listening to than this young man.

I loved both, as they are concise, with actually intelligent main characters. Are there any more that are like Code Geass and Death Note? Haha. Nope.

I played it for another couple of hours earlier and it's kind of growing, but I definitely need to play it more. I like it enough to come back to it, and I think I should play through story mode or something at least once before I make a decision. I'm still having issues with the controls, but that is probably to do with me being used to 3D games. Graphics and music are A+ though. Love them a lot.

Not trying to be a hater, but if you can't take down a heavy then you probably shouldn't be playing that class... Heavies and soldiers are the easiest to take out, despite the fact they have more health than the other classes. Generally my sniper hierarchy is like: - Medic as top priority - Other snipers - Engineers - Soldiers - Heavies - The rest I'm situational, though. If someone is destroying the rest of my team, then I'll obviously either throw Jarate to help out or take them on by myself. The Huntsman is fun and I personally don't have anything against it, but don't expect to win against a good sniper with a rifle. A good rifle sniper will take you out before you've even aimed it, let alone charged it up. All of those weapons that people "hate" are fun to use except for the Backburner, which is one of the most situational weapons in the entire game. It's God-tier on plr_pipeline, though.

What Game(s) Did You Last Get and What Are You Playing?

Trying to get more into BlazBlue. It's starting to click but it's going to be a while before I feel confident with it. I'm spoiled by 3D fighters.
