  1. I agree, if someone has not played in six months and has not completed tutorial island then I doubt they're going to miss that account. :wall:
  2. Great list, I support almost all of these. Although I would love the drop X function it would make power fishing/teaks insanely quick.
  3. I'm sure some high level players could be considered geeks or nerds, whatever you want to call them. But there are plenty who are able to keep their hobby in check. Zezima is a good example, while being number one for years, he managed to get into college and he has a gf irl,(or are they married now). Anyway that's proof enough for me that it's possible to have a balanced life and at the same time have good skills in game.
  4. I think people usually "look down upon" 99s they perceive as quick and or relatively cheap. If someone wants to waste 5m getting cooking to 99 JUST for the cape then that's their choice and I'm not going to harass them for it. After recently getting fm to just 80 I've gotta say it would actually be a pretty hard 99. (clicking mainly)
  5. I think there was a discussion about which kind of cape:quest or skill was better. From what I gathered it was not really seen as a lesser cape, many people acknowledging it takes more time to get than many 99s.
  6. I don't have a problem with people saying [wagon] unless they use it to directly offend or harass someone. And damn? That's not particularly offensive in my opinion, even if you say "damn you" it's just like saying get stuffed. Not really the end of the world. I don't think they meant to do it, but they have unblocked a certain word starting with "f" and ending with "less". You can also say "[wagon]" but not "arse" OK, maybe some people under 13 tend to be annoying but I think they would have enough brains to say they were over 13.
  7. Yep, I agree, if you're tempted and have the cash to burn, best do it now. In any case, you can get back money but you can't lose xp.
  8. Really up to you, void is fun to use and will probably save you some cash when chinning to 99, you might also want to use it later , in my opinion: get it.
  9. I reckon it would be good if you invested a bit in farming, crafting, construction and smithing get them into the 80s ;) If there's any left maybe prayer or save it? Up to you though.
  10. Really nice guide, it covers a variety of effective methods. I found it quite helpfull on my first waterfiend tasks, thanks for posting this.
  11. great guide, I don't think the DIY is for me but nonetheless it's all very thought out and provides great information for anyone who is lookig to level herblore by themselves. good job.
  12. I reckon they should,it's more of an achievment to get a 99 in F2P anyway.
  13. Whips themselves are not a big threat in PVP, they are a standard weapon these days, In any practical sense they have no spec and hit modest amounts of damage when compared with a GS. There's no point introducing more weapons similar to the whip with the exeption of a one handed stab-based one. But this still wouldn't make the whip any less powerful! What we DO need is more powerful training weapons and armour for people with 90+ stats. IN my opinion these should be derived from 95+ slayer monsters to keep the skill alive.
  14. I support this, if it were to happen the cape should be without the irritating spawn of steel arrows, or have an option which allows you to turn it on/off. 99 rangers deserve this.
  15. Not sure, I think I have 2 or perhaps 3 years of quality playing before school will have to take more of a priority. From there it depends on whether I go to university or not, etc.etc. So hopefully 2100-2200 total,99 slayer, 99 summ and others ;)
  16. Wow, there's some arrogance for you. To be honest, this thread is getting quite pathetic; yes there are some unnecessary and half thought rants out there and there always will be but i would expect "mature" people like yourselves would be able to deal with this without starting another. I really don't appreciate the generalization that all teens are ignorant and arrogant, first it was the "damn ten year olds" and now it's the teens. Morons can be all ages.
  17. Low levels are fine, but I hate the people who won't stop asking stupid questions, the ones who obviously didn't even read the tutorial dialogue and want your help with everything. They are simply frustrating, it does not matter what level.
  18. Well, it would be kind of hard to implement but if they could do it i would be happpppppyyyyyy. I am sick of people thinking I'm a bot - or used to be, and being surprised when i tell them my WC level is only 79 :| Just to clarify: I wouldn't have a clue how to set up a macro anyway
  19. The bunyip is more practical when killing any monsters where it can sustain your hp, due to it's automatic healing and extremely low usage cost (no scrolls needed). A bunyip is actually viable for some hard-hitting tasks like waterfiends where the swallow whole special effect is extremely useful, but in my experience the unicorn is still better here. I like to use the unicorn on any slayer task where I often find myself eating food to make up for some of the hp lost, e.g. black demons if I decide to tank, goraks, abberent spectres etc. So basically the unicorn is good for killing any monster where the bunyip does not do enough, though it costs more to get the required level, and more money and concentration to use it.
  20. I'm 15, last year runescape was one of the long list of pathetic things i was continuously picked on in school for by people who: had either never played themselves, had not done so in years, or were unable to do so because of a serious lack of IQ points. I seem to recall the new ceo saying he didn't think runescape was percieved as a childish game (I may be wrong). If i'm right the the new ceo is WRONG, the most common insult I would get was probably:"Why the hell would you play that [cabbage]ty kids game?' Like you, I have "friends" and people I know who used to have accounts when we were like ten and their memories are probably limited to rsc graphics and grinding grain for cooks assistant, though now most have stopped. I think it's probably that group of ex players which has lead to the bad reputation the game has in my school. Once they've done insulting me and the game, some of them will ask me my skills, and have you got any 99s?This is where the whole no-life, geek, nerd etc. thing really kicks off. If it wasn't so irritating I would laugh at this. My favourite retort is how is playing rs any worse than spending your nights/weekends watching movies alone in your bedroom, having no control over what happens in the film and having no decisions to make other than which chip packet to open next. the response is generally something along the lines of: "Movies are better." Also, I live in Australia so this "issue" is not limited to the US. -.-
  21. Mining is just one of those hard, slow skills where you don't earn a great deal of cash while training. Mining iron with a kyatt i can make somewhere around 90k proft/hr (similar to wcing yews as far as I'm aware). Using this method the skill is similar to wcing in profits and xp with the exeption of effort (clicking ~400k iron ores would be kind of hard on the wrists ^.^).
  22. The new CEO is certainly living up to his word so far in regard to being more open with the community and i'm quite impressed with the personal effort he seems to be putting into it. I hope the BH update helps to eliminates RWT. Though I doubt i'll risk my items for it, I hope they succeed in making it more like the old wild which really had a great element of freedom and unpredictability to it :ohnoes: And like someone else said about the "junk removing quest", 90% of my bank might have some kind of worth!
  23. Well, if you are serious about armadyl then yes, 99 range is well worth it, as for chins though I'm not really sure,if you enjoy ranging and don't mind spending some time in the wildy green drags could net you about 100m for 99 (this takes 300+ hours). In the end though, if you like doing slayer then I guess you could do ranged first, using slayer, then use that money to buy the top melee equipment. Alternatively get melees to 99 on slayer, use the money to chin to 99 range and then make it back at armadyl: It's up to you.
  24. At 83 ranged, 99 defence and using a bunyip I managed to make ~380k in one hour there killing mostly 79s-92s. I used broad bolts, sara d hide top and bottom, dfs, arma helm and zammy vambraces, of course don't forget the (maybe) trusty ring of wealth :D
  25. While i'm not sure of maximum rates for abyss rcing i know it is possible to convert around 3.3k ess to nats using the graahk method, which i seriously doubt any abyss crafter could manage. On top of this the graahk method is much safer. On the other hand graahk pouches do cost a bit although i reckon the expense is justified.
