  1. Needle works...you just have to use normal leather or hard leather.
  2. This is the truest and most Jagex-like thing I have ever seen someone come up with. I say this is the part that is most likely to be implemented. :D
  3. I am really very sick of people saying that skillers need to receive exp because fighters get exp. WHAT ABOUT THE DAMN TOOLS??? The tools give bonus exp...none of the combat rewards give bonus exp...so its only fair that fighters get their exp in game and skillers need to USE THE REWARDS to get exp. This is EVEN BETTER than getting it in game because then, if you want bonus smithing exp, you dont even NEED to smith armors or even transform ANY CLAY at all to receive your "bonus" smtihing exp. You can just sit there and bank 20k points in clay each game. In an hour you get three tools, which can bring up to 90kish bonus smithing exp... If this game gave skill exp in game...people would just go there to train specific skills and never even worry about winning the game or producing what is actually needed instead of producing what exp they want... One thing I have to say though: There should be some type of point incentive for putting up a barrier...otherwise you are missing out on some good points you couldve had if you just stored the barriers in the base.
  4. LOL do they even test content at all?......really.
  5. Reportedly the neelde only works when you use a different needle and have the new needle in your inventory :| Not true. It just doesn't work at all. I tried holding a different needle and no sucess. PS: The tools don't stack in any form. Meaning people cant just save up 1000 hammers and shatter the current exp records. Though, I'm sure it wont deter some people, especially seeing as you dont need any items to play the game, so you can just clear your whole bank for 500 tools. Oh, and you can only buy a ONE tool after playing a game. Not sure if you have to win because I havent lost since I started buying tools. You can play a couple times in a row and then buy a couple tools, but if you log out it won't let you buy any tools. So don't start saving up 20 million points to supply your tool needs for a life time, cause youve gotta buy them after the game. These two factors combined, I think compensate for some of the ridiculous exp rates. (But...this also means theres no real point in getting over 20k points per game if all you want is tools...)
  6. Heres info on the volatile tool for now...I need to do a ton of work tonight :( I'll get back on this tomorrow maybe.
  7. So I'm using volatile pickaxe right now, and there doesn't appear to be any set % of exp boost. I am getting roughly 12 exp from mining essense (an increase of 7 from 5 exp per ess) and 40 exp per iron ( up from 35 exp...). Anyway, the thing sucks as an ore gatherer...its basically a bronze pick so these boosts arent really worth it. Editing in my testing results for other things. *EDIT* now it is a harpoon...im getting about 124 exp per shark (up from 110). It wont let me catch tuna or swordfish, it makes me fish with my hands... *edit2* Hammer testing: Bronze: 14 up from 12.5. Iron gives 29, up from 25. Steel: 55ish up from 37.5. Mith: 89 up from 50. Adamant 99 up from 62.5 *edit3* Knife--145 exp from cutting a magic long, up from 91.5.... . 119 exp for cutting a yew long, up from 75... NOTE THESE ARE ROUGH ESTIMATES, AND I HAVE NOT BOTHERED TO CHECK FOR HALF EXPS
  8. I typically try to get a jump on the other team with some quick level 3 production and go start barraging. I came across someone who was doing what you were doing. I pickpocketed 2k arrows off of him. lol
  9. When you click "operate" on any piece of your armor, it "operates" all pieces, meaning you cant just change the platebody to a robe top; if you are wearing the whole set, itll all become a different class.
  10. SO MY MELEE HELM TRANSFORMED INTO A MAGIC ROBE GF
  11. First of all, I like the game a lot...very fun. Its really a shame though that it doesn't last longer...but I know 20 mins is pretty standard for RS mini games. The armor is disappointing...kinda. There may be a few usefull things you can do with it. It IS pretty lightweight...especially if you wanted to carry robes, rune, and dhide. Could be fun to barrow in or something. Also sometimes the random generation is extremely unfair...I played one game where the opposing team had the level 5 spot right outside their base. Also, sometimes a creation machine gets put stupidly far away from the bases, making it hard for anyone that just wants to play as a craftsman. Looking forward to when I get to play again so I can test the tools.
  12. But, youre making less money. You may aswell make more money with fishing and then you can buy more tree seeds than what you wouldve gotten from maples.
  13. I dunno. I'm not really sure how this can be the quest they talked about, because it seems that would mean we get two "headline" updates for this month. Also if this IS the fabled quest, don't forget that since the aug 15th update, there was the change to how they made updates. Maybe making less updates pushed this quest for an earlier release? Confusing...
  14. I safe, I pray, I do all of these things that you aren't "supposed" to do. I abuse it to my full advantage and I get tons of kills, and I never die (which is a good thing, cause I have been using full void). I never complain about anything people do and I think "safe eating" is one of the dumbest things to whine about. We all know you don't want to prevent your own death. I have a strategy when it comes to playing games, which seems to differ from most people's view. Instead of trying and trying to win, I just avoid losing. Avoid death, keep your team alive, etc. It might take longer to win, but you'll just never lose. Id rather have 50 ties and 50 wins than 50 losses and 50 wins. Losing isn't an option. If you avoid your own loss long enough, your opponent generally grows impatient, letting his appetite for a win take over his rationality, forcing him to make bad plays/decisions in a desperate attempt to force the win. Example: I am ranging my opponent while praying against his retaliation. He may or may not switch techniques, but if he does I just change my prayer. All the while I keep ranging faithfully. Eventually my opponent becomes frustrated and starts protecting against my ranged attack. Eventually he loses sight of what may be going on here and just stubbornly keeps trying to push his attacks through. He no longer cares about being around 40-50 hp because he is praying against the single form of attack I have at my disposal. Or is he? Then out comes the arma godsword for a final crushing blow. If you want to approch PvP like some type of gambling, be my guest. Complain about safing. Never use protection prayers. Like you said, why even eat at all? If you're going to leave it up to luck, just find some players who feel the same way and fight with no healing. It'll be the same gamble and be over a lot quicker. However, I would much rather have a carefully organized strategy that, while it may not steadily provide me with a great chance of winning, ultimately cuts my chance of losing down to a very small margin. 184
  15. What are you on about? :| The OP seems to have very picky eating habits. I just thought I should ease his mind and make his life a little easier.
  16. Can't you just hit them with freezing spells too? Tele block, freeze, this = GG. No, then in that case this is no different from magic before. The problem with magic is that it, on its own, is too easy to escape or avoid death from. Reducing your opponent's attacking speed may help to make sure you dont die, but it does nothing more than what we had to make sure they get KOed. Sure, if you are maging a ranger, he wont be able to shoot back at you as fast and you can cast more barrages without eating, but if you are using purely magic on a ranger in dhide, chances are youll still splash way too much to KO him. If you are casting on a meleer, then there is no difference than freezing him and standing a square away...his attack speed is then irrelevant. Magic has become a still better support skill, but this does nothing to verify the mage as a pure class of its own that stands a honestly good chance of killing someone, even if they arent allowed to protect from magic.
  17. This still doesn't fix magic at all. If someone gets a miasmic spell cast on them, chances are theyll want to just not even attack at all and instead start running. Magic needed more KO power, not something just like ice barrage that simply helps to make sure the target is disabled in some way. This would be great in the duel arena but for world PKing people are gonna just run from you, and this doesn't do anything to stop them from getting away.
  18. I think what a lot of people fail to realize is that Jagex did a pretty good job setting these item prices. If they had been set to a projected "reasonable" price, everyone would be complaining that they were impossible to buy on the GE for like 1-5m or whatever the "reasonable" price is. Jagex definitely compensated for what players want, and I think the price range definitely reflects the "new item rush" that people always have.
  19. I think they are brilliantly fun. Does anyone know of a a community that organizes times for duel tournaments? Cause any time I am there the highest two registrars are closed =( Its one of the few places in runescape where you can use whatever armor and weapons you want, be positive that your opponent isnt potted (or whatever the rules would be), and it is actually a tight competition with good rewards. I'd love to see more people play them. Anybody want to start a duel tournament society? :
  20. Are you positive about the speed of the hammer? I've gone up against a few (corrupted) and they seem to be equally as fast as the whip...
  21. Firemaking gloves. I'll buy some magic logs and see how long they last...sometime when I feel like it.
  22. Ladies and gentlemen. I have never been happier to have a scrying pool for my house tele rooms. That is all.
  23. I don't really understand why some people are talking about poor CB hunters or whatever? I dont see what changed.
  24. This is an awful reason to not like it, just because its an unfamiliar interface. "Harder" doesn't mean anything...If summoning was introduced this way, people never would have known anything else and it wouldn't have been "hard" cause they would just learn to use it that way.
  25. Never sell. These items are good and extremely useful. No matter if they drop to 1m each, you'll never lose money if you don't sell them.
