  1. This isn't really true, except if you have really long floors. Once they go below 20ish(?), a death isn't going to save enough time to warrant the xp lost. To elaborate: At, say, 360k xp/hr and 90k xp/floor (5:5 large), there is 450k xp per floor gained, in 15 minutes. If one death reduces this to 441k xp gained, it needs to reduce the time spent to 14.7 minutes, e.g. saving 18 seconds, to achieve the same xp/hr. The 15 minutes includes regrouping, overloading etc. Solo, you probabaly wouldn't die on smalls at all, but taking meds: You would get about 200k/hr at 40k xp/floor (12 minutes per med). One death would reduce the xp gained to 36k. You would need to finish the med in 10.8 minutes, saving a whopping 72 seconds. Numbers are just examples but they show the principle.
  2. I would imagine that 2hs would be better than dual wielding, since you'd have the same number of binds, but 50% damage for one style and 100% for another (higher because the penalty is less extreme, but hopefully you get my point). I definitely agree, but depending on how the bind system works out, and depending on class rings and style weakness and the effects of certain abilities on certain bosses (mostly, the ability that triples damage when the opponent moves combined with, say, Dreadnaut) might make it attractive anyhow. Since 10 binds is pretty generous, it can't hurt to keep certain items in reserve you think might be cool or useful later on.
  3. Personally I would look into binding dual wield longsword/battleaxe for example. You get two attack styles, decent dps as well. Accuracy isn't that much of an issue between 2h/1h/dual, they are all pretty much the same iirc.
  4. Rapier can't slash in EoC, they are otherwise equal raw dps.
  5. Good weapons are: Cls - slash Rapier - stab Maul - crush Ccbow - bolt Zaryte - arrow Polypore - magic Throwing lacks a level 80 weapon so is probably subobtimal in any case. Incidentally, sagaie (level 72) are superior to Morrigan's javelins (level 78) in damage. Dominion Tower gloves are currently very good but will be changed before EoC goes live.
  6. Since you don't have ccbow or rigour, I'd say go with polypore. Ganodermic is good for defence and mage attack, otherwise just max your magic damage and attack.

The current combat system heavily favours high strength bonus, e.g. blood necklace, primal gauntlets and primal baxe/2h with a primal platebody. Since you have a csb bound, an empowered fire staff boosts magic dps a lot, which is probably better than primal gauntlets, but it depends a bit on how many people you dg with have hexes. After EoC happens, equipment won't have any offensive advantages anymore, so it'll be beneficial to bind top, legs, helm and weapon for melee and another style as dictated by your ammo bind.
  8. You forget hood and blood necklace. Leg armour is relatively minor. In the current combat system, you're looking at bn/hex+arrows/primal plate+2h with a choice of gauntlets or hood for primary set, with Sagittarian only for hexes in case of Necro, and ccs/efs with robes only for csbs in case of Hope etc. It's stupid you can't bind more than one ammo bind. Personally I don't like the ability to switch within a dungeon as well, it makes it far too easy to switch to tank gear for example, or to go all-out Sagittarian when you find Necro.
  9. Nope sounds spot on .
  10. I think the completely free market, when implemented, isn't stable. Any company can improve their position by, for example, not providing correct information or forming cartels. Hence, some ouside influence is required to keep the markets in check. It'd help if that influence wasn't corruptible. Transparency helps there. In the end, everybody's a stakeholder in the welfare of the economy, so it's not quite possible to have 100%-outside influence. Free market as ideal as well as for example the "Industries regulate themselves because public perception is worth it." heavily depend on the rational, economically sensible person. Those people are very very rare indeed and it's not realistic to build your economy around 'rational' deciders. People still take detours to go to cheaper gas stations. On the other hand, having all industry publicly-owned hasn't worked out much so far in the USSR etc.. So in the end, I trust my democratic goverment more than I trust a company whose primary or even only interest is making money.
  11. I wish people would stop saying this :(. Just because there's the possibility to afk, doesn't mean it's AFK-type. Proper RS combat (I would almost say, non-noob/newb combat) requires managing several different things, mostly to do with health (ss flash, food stops attacking etc.), prayer (potions, prayer drain abilities, switching), stats (boost potions, in the case of overloads and/or Saradomin brews also interplay with health), positioning (looting & lossless inter-monster transfer), familiar (specials, positioning, target), and sometimes also prayer switching/weapon switching etc. In PvP, that's even more obvious, nobody could say that RS has 'AFK-type' PvP combat. The problem with RS combat, mostly slayer and such, being somewhat monotonous is monster-side. Something in the vincinity of 90% of the monsters doesn't have a single ability, and that's counting dragonfire and poison as abilities (they can be 100% negated by a single potion).
  12. Hmm, I thought short fuse was proven to be more effective? Got the speed wrong anyhow, my bad.
  13. Actual level-up picture: Clicky cause blocked. 96 thieving :). Past 600k xp or so helped by three challenges @ 70k xp each, was a breeze :).
  14. The fastest xp is at the skeletons where you also chin, with Dharok's and Salve (e). Bring prayer potions, overloads, emergency tele&antipoison and enjoy.
  15. Well, you have to consider what you're smithing. If it's daggers or something, banking is much less important. E.g. banking/overhead per run @ 9 seconds, smithing @ 2.4 seconds per item (without Varrock armour), plates are 21 or 23.4 seconds per run (depending on whether Scroll of Efficiency activates at least twice), daggers are 76.2 seconds per run. According to Grimy's spreadsheets, it's on average 3.7 ticks per item with Varrock armour, reducing the time per run to 20.1 or 22.32 seconds per run for plates (4.3% or 4.7% reduction respectively), and 71.16 seconds for daggers (6.6% reduction). So there is a breakoff somewhere for the ratio of smithing time:banking time. As it is, even if you smith one item per run, Varrock armour saves you an average of .3 ticks on a total of 19 per run, which is better than the 1% from a Blacksmith torso.
  16. Void is much better than other equipment right now, but in EoC it's worse I think (the defence is too low). 1.3m xp with void should take roughly 4 hours, 1.3m without should take about 5 hours tops. You'll need some 1k chins/hr. Use a Soul Wars cape, the rest of your equipment can be focused on higher ranged attack, but stay away from degradeables, they are generally not worth it.
  17. Only 6% of the people would name the adrenaline system as their favourite part. I think that shows it's a good deal less popular than the rest of the update. Maybe a good reason to re-examine it.
  18. Thanks, fixed :)
  19. Soul Split is great, the rest is useless.
  20. Welcome :D. Bar's over there, live music on weekends, and all waiters have level 95+ politeness :). Lol EoC :( :( Stupid stupid stupid Jagex for not giving raw stats or formulas. They're so secretive it's just annoying.
  21. I've had Virtus skirt and Arcane for a while, but I bought Virtus top as well, instead of Subjugation, because of EoC. Other than that, I'm not really preparing, just worrying.
  22. I think PoP will be as grindy as (pre-fix) Dominion Tower, as useful as 400 MA rank, as glamorous as Livid Farm, and in gameplay comparable to hunting the Thalassus. I feel like I'm going to be the person who maxes all skills before training hunter from ~80. HAI Q Hehehehe good luck :D.
  23. I'm pretty sure the xp/tear is still fixed past level 30 or so, so you got 3x the old rate, which is 180 per tear. With the big bowl that is 54300 xp.
  24. The EoC isn't nearly ready, there's not much chance it can be ready in two weeks either. I haven't noticed any response to the simple idea that the problem has always been Jagex' generally boring monster design (e.g. hellhounds), not character options. EoC won't change monsters to be any better, so basically we'll get equally boring but different combat, stale and monotonous for the most part.
