  1. You've got a thread here, discussing the same, so I'm locking this.
  2. Nex worlds aren't crowded as far as I know, so it should have little effect, given that there will be a cost associated with creating an instance.
  3. But at the same time, he could be at 4.1b xp within the month, ahead of Dragonseance. If Forsberg has the cash, the best prediction would be that he will win.
  4. Nobody can tell whether virtus wands will crash. Ranged is supposed to be getting a buff soon-ish, and virtus wand approaches the price of an ascension crossbow, so there is reason to worry. However, until the update firmly appears on an update schedule, I doubt the wand will fall.
  5. Hiya :). PvM is where it's at, farming is much less than it used to be (torstols especially), but still worthwhile, and Ports are good money. Try the QBD or dagannoth kings for now.
  6. The number of delays and the complete ignoring of rebalancing suggests to me they're still not all in on what direction the game is going in according to everyone else. Basically, there's no plan, just developers picking pet projects and carrying them out independently. Without coordination between pieces of content, the whole just doesn't make sense. That's fine if you're running Funorb, but it doesn't work in a big game where people get rich or fail depending on your balance (see: anyone who likes maging can't afford magic gear, anyone who likes ranging can't get good dps even if they can afford gear, anyone who likes meleeing is no use at higher-tier bosses).
  7. If you want to have a challenge similar to being a skiller, but with a little combat on the side, you can try being a summoning pure - training only defence, constitution, prayer and summoning.
  8. If POP2 doesn't bring melee and magic weapons, it'll be a bad update in my opinion. Also, death lotus darts are much lamer than harpoons - 2H ranged thrown please, not some lame 1h. We have lots of 1h already. The rest of the month looks like no content, some small fixes/conveniences, no rebalancing.
  9. :o That's awesome. Edit: bought a malevolent kiteshield and drygore longsword. Figured that all that cash doing nothing was more stupid than annoying pkers for 20 mins a day :D.
  10. They are tier 90, so yes, if you do not already have t90 weapons they are. The staff and sword are two-handed, which means they are worse than drygores and seismics. The crossbow is basically a free ascension crossbow, there is no off-hand.
  11. About 550-600k last I checked.
  12. Yes. Make sure to use Momentum, not abilities.
  13. 'Power to the players'? Since Jagex is in control of what we vote for and what the content will end up being, not to mention all the information we'll have about future updates, there is basically zero power transferred here. Even ignoring that, it's stupid to pit Invention against Prifddinas. They should both have been in-game already. So yeah, 100% rhetoric with a dash of stupid.
  14. Just copying this here: Prediction of content for 2014: Inventing, which will be as grindy as Divination, but costlier.Six quests, two bad, two mediocre, two good.Fifty SoF promotions.Fifty new Solomon's wares.A world event, mostly grinding and no tactics.Twenty patch note-worthy 'updates' with no lasting impact on the game.A disappointing elf city, again with no real impact except a tick faster bank/ge tele.A skill rework, but it'll be really unbalanced for the first few months. No EoC changes, no rebalancing.A new way to spend money on the game.Of course this is a list I made so that I'll be glad to be wrong, but still. I'm having trouble estimating how low my estimates of Jagex' ability to design a game should be. Let's see how wrong I am. (by the way that's 31 weeks of content, assuming RWT is outside the regular update schedule)
  15. I think the point is that Jagex is keeping F2P as a demo in all but name, and that expecting any kind of balancing to take F2P into account is sadly rather fanciful. That is, of course, assuming there is any balancing at all.
  16. It seems stupid to ask for a vote between two pieces of content that design-wise should have been in-game already, because they are important parts of ongoing (*cough*) storylines, those being Elves and Sixth-Age. 17. I'm not sure I would like this equipment-wide, but a set of jewellery employing that type of enchantment would be fun I think, a way to get rid of runes as well.
  18. For the most part, don't do any one skill all the way first, because of the large amounts of bonus and collateral xp you're likely to get. In a sense, Farming is the first skill to start on, along with Warbanding (which is usually Mining). All combats interact with slayer, and through effigies (though those not so common anymore) with many other skills. Mining + smithing - either through superheats, or as second choice for warbands Fishing + woodcutting (or, if you wanted, with strength/agility) Dungeoneering + combat Divination + hunter Woodcutting + firemaking Fletching + any number of things (iirc) Then dailies/weeklies, the time-limited stuff you have to do from the start (ideally): Warbands Char's book, perhaps cave Farm runs Daily challenge Ports Minor/optional stuff (troll invasion, tears, circus, god statues and whatnot) Relatively separate skills: Runecrafting Herblore (but you might want to do this before combat) Agility Crafting Prayer (the part that's not from bonecruncher/urns) Construction Thieving Cooking Plus that there's the steady flow of xp from SoF and promotions, world events and other hard-to-predict stuff.
  19. http://forum.tip.it/topic/316757-the-slayer-model/ That's the H&A thread dedicated to the model.
  20. I suppose that works as well, if you allow some choice of setup. The point is that since it's safe pvp and everybody is supposed to be able to join, which you don't achieve by leaving 3b seismics wielded by 170s mixed with chaotics wielded by 200s. If you want to encourage participation in PvP, then you must equalize equipment. It is the single biggest and nearly only factor separating the good (well set-up) accounts from the bad, given that stats past 90 don't matter and abilities don't go past 85.
  21. Merry Christmas everyone :).
  22. Only the first two abilities have a definite use, the ultimate and the armour have limited and perhaps as of yet undiscovered niche applications.
  23. Unbalanced PvP has nothing to do with levels, it has to do with equipment. Instead of giving lower levels a damage boost, each tower should hold free weapons and armour of every tier up to 99, claimable once per day per tier of token you have, usable only in PvP within the event PvP zones. Ideally the equipment would just be one item per style per slot (and of hybrid/power/tank varieties) that scales to the user's levels.
  24. :o Couple of permanent bans coming up...
  25. You may want to go ahead and cannon everything, using ccbow. You need about 20-25 hours of chinning? Given that seismic/virtus will not be an option, the slayer xp rates won't be hugely different, not the 20+ hours over the course of 93-99 slayer (which is about 5.6m xp, or 50-70 hours).
