Fight Caves, Function Keys, and HP Laptops
Well I'm about to do the fight caves, but I just now realize that my new laptop has specific functions for the f-keys that even overlaps into runescape meaning that I can't switch tabs with them. I'm using an HP Pavilion dv7 running Windows 7, and yes I'm looking at the manual right now but so far I'm having no luck. Do you know if there's a way to put the f-key to the way that they work on XP? EDIT: I figured it out, sorta... It works if I hold down the fn key, but if there's something I can do to make the switching easier it'd be appreciated (I'm under enough pressure, I don't want some random hp help screen to pop up in the middle of a kill lol).

Slayer
If you played 10 hours a day for 7 days straight you'd only need an hourly exp rate of ~18k, if you play 5 hours a day it's ~35k, etc. I don't know your playing schedule, but those are the benchmarks you'll want to meet. Also, why stop right when school starts?

Training Smithing
While superheating gold is pretty much the standard nowadays, if that gets boring then making addy plates (Once 88, usually also combined with SC hammers) are fast, if expensive, exp.

86 Magic
Once you get 80 just cast string ammy, it's fast, easy, and afkable but very, very expensive.

stab weap for metal d's
Definitely whip, and will this be camping or slaying? Because dragon slayer gloves are an improvement over barrows gloves on task.

Magic Defense
Red d'hide I suppose, try going for 70 range so you can unlock black d'hide and karil's armor.

irits
If you're really that desperate I suppose you can buy irit gloves from FoG, that should increase the rate that you get them from the druids.

Herblore
Well first I would sell the herbs from MTK so you have more cash to buy more of the most efficient pot. Second, no bonus exp weekend has been announced and IIRC they were discussing to not include buyable skills like herb or summoning because of the rampant hoarding that happened last time. Also, at ~23 gp/exp average for herb exp you should get around 4.3mil herb exp, which puts you at lvl 88, but keep in mind that the market is volatile and that's subject to change.

Do you think I could kill him with 2 claw specs when the healers come out? Or do I have to deal with them and get him lower before I can claw?

Training magic (64-75)
I've got 12m left, but im probably only willing to spend 2-2.5m max cause i gotta buy more chinchompas and potions soon. Then alch away, you shouldn't spend more than that. And if you do, you can make up the difference charging air orbs for profit and (Slower) exp. I got a couple of questions about alching. 1. What should i alch? 2. Do SC hats work with alchemy? cause i was planning on getting a few. 1. Like I said before, various amounts of yew/maple strung/unstrung long/shortbows; try seeing which ones minimize loss. 2. No, SC hats only work with combat mage spells. They are really only useful in conjunction with Stun, which needs 80 mage.

Saggi LBow or SBow?
I believe that since longbows are a tick faster in Daemonheim than in the above world they are preferred to shortbows, but that may just be F2P...

Higher level skilling advice (all 80+) *updated*
Steam runes? Is there a guide on the required method? Smoke Runes Guide, it's for smoke but it's pretty much the same method just using water instead of air runes; pretty decent exp if you get the pattern down.

Training magic (64-75)
Honestly if you just buy random varieties of maple/yew bows and alch them you don't loose that much, shouldn't cost more than a mill or two for the lvls you're looking for. But, just so we know, what kind of budget are you on?

Another Jad Thread
Alright, so I'm nearing 93 slayer and still haven't gotten my fire cape, so I decided to upgrade my latest TzHaar task and try and go for it. Before I do though I do need some help and training, because I never fight bosses and have only done fight caves once for the Karamja diary (Brought just an invy full of sharks, killed Ket and then promptly died). 1. Don't link me to Muggi's guide, believe me that I'll be reading it religiously over the next few days. 2. I know that there was a guide to prayer switching (The part I'm most concerned about) with an accompanying yt video so you can practice, what was it called/where is it? EDIT: Found it, but if there are any other good yt videos I should know about, please inform me. 3. Would doing some TDs help me to prayer switch well under pressure? I've never been, but I can probably find some friends to put up with my noobiness (If someone on here would like to take me too, that'd be sweet). 4. For armor, I have full arma, ranger boots, fury, DFS (Can buy a BSS if that'd be a good substitute), and enough spare cash to buy a barrows top or bottom if it'd help. Basically should I be focusing on range attack or all-around defense? 5. What do I do about the healers? Whenever I read a thread on here it seems everyone trips up when they come out because they seem to act differently for everyone. Do I kill them? Do I lure them? How far away do I have to lure them? What if they're caught on a corner and can't seem to get to them? If I lure them and they are attacking me, how much damage to they cause? Thanks for the help as always <3: .

Got my first effigy
Effigies cc is pretty useful for getting the easier assists (Cook, fletch, craft), and you can sometimes luck out and find someone with the harder skills (Farm, smith, rc, construction) but don't let it consume your whole day finding someone. Just have a quick look around the ge whenever you go, and sometimes you catch someone with the respective cape that hasn't reached their assist limit.

F2P range guide
I'm not sure if it still works, and you lose your arrows, but you can shoot at guards from atop ice mountain, and they'll never reach you.

Mining Mithril ores in F2P
The dwarven mine is the one with the bank deposit box, so that's the one you want to use. They're probably crowded, I don't know if the crowds have gone down since it's less new or if more people are there because it's become more well-known. If it is too crowded, and you can't switch worlds to get away from people, the next best place would be the regular mining guild (Not the resource dung there).

Mining Mithril ores in F2P
What you're thinking of. It's probably one of the best things to happen to F2P mining.

Training magic (64-75)
I might do some barrows, but it's a slow process since i have to bank in varrock and WALK all the way to barrows :/ I have nothing against getting hp exp so battle magic seems nice but the exp from it seems a bit slow. Any ideas on good magic spells i can use and what to use them on? Have you done dt? I'm not asking because you should use those spells for training, you're not a high enough, but it will allow you to build a canifis portal that lets you do barrows MUCH more efficiently. But, other alternatives could be superheating gold with gold gaunts (Expensive, but damn good mage and smith exp) or making teletabs/casting cammy tele. Really though I'd recommend alching, with mousekeys all you need to do is press 5 on your numpad over and over again while watching tv or something.

Got my first effigy
Yes, I have about 7 in my bank atm. Also it's notable that every effigy has one skill that can be assisted, and one that can't be.
-
crafting
Battlestaffs are also not too expensive, just keep an offer in and you'll eventually get all that you need.

Nomad...
I'd try and get summon to 69 if you have the charms saved, a war tort will really help a lot. Also a BSS would be a good alternative to the zammy book if you find yourself getting hit too much. As for an invy I pretty much just had 9-10 REG restores, 2 pray pots, and the rest of my invy space and BoB space was brews (I didn't bother with a kyatt, but you probably should).

Iron dragon task
I believe that a whip is better than LBS, especially at your att lvl; either way melee will probably still be faster especially without a stream necklace.

ge update
It can also vary from item to item, as rares (And spirit shields IIRC) update far less frequently than, say, yew logs.
