  1. this is a very revealing statement: you need two to make a baby, and condoms (responsibility of both) are the only type of contraceptive to give a reasonable level or protection for STD's. Why do you absolve the guy of his responsibility? Nice taking my statement out of context. I don't relieve the guy of his responsibility. I just believe that it's irresponsible for a woman to have sex with a man and not use condoms or birth control, get pregnant, and hit up her local abortion clinic. what?!? out of context? i quoted it JUST as presented. It's an overarching attitude, however you present it and you continue the same argument too, which underbuilds my point precisely: you again absolve the guy of responsibility. It's equally irresponsible for a man to have sex with a woman, where he does not use a condom, as she may get pregnant. He is equally responsible for conceiving an unplanned child. when you place the responsibility of birth control on the female, not the couple, you're advocating a patriarchal society as opposed to gender equality!
  2. sounds to me like a description of running at slightly below your aerobic capacity.

  4. the similar demise of summoning was predicted before batch 2 was released (nothing higher than bunyip was useful). let's wait until the whole skill is released, and then some before we pass judgement? does that sound reasonable? I like dungeoneering. my computer died, so i'm not dunging atm. that's really the only reason.
  5. successful snipes ftw! Wonder if they actually will crash, checking w2 in 3-4 hours should give a good indication :) i got my snipe offers in the first 20 secs - 2 mins after update. so let's see if i get lucky, vacation time and all starting some places around the world. both green and blue masks updating, and red phat all updating in one day will at least make it interesting in terms of how sniping strategies work. EDIT: just got cash and 3rd age kite offer for santa (second screen accepted). doubt they're crashing, i'm sticking to the santas rather than 3rd age atm though. dunno if it's smart or not :P EDIT 2: unfs still going for 13-15k. interesting development :P
  6. like an epic poem? i looove anything from the lost generation. before this, i was reading ezra pound, amazing poetry and he made essays worthwhile The golden gate is written entirely in "Onegin sonnets" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onegin_stanza. the content is contemporary though, featuring the golden gate (bridge) etc. It's apparently the longest poem ever written, or at least was when it was published.

dietary top tip: get your 5 a day. EVERY DAY. That's the only way to maintain a high performance level over time. remember that potatoes, rice, pasta and other staples don't count. this means you need to eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables every day. that translates to your dinner plate consisting of at least 2/3 veggies. eat regular meals. follow all the advice your mother gave you when you were a kid when it comes to eating "chocolate only on weekends" "avoiding refined carbs" "drinking water instead of juice/soda" etc. etc. for rugby i assume you don't just need brute strength, rather also strength over time. that means not necessarily doing the conventional "build bulk" guides online. you need more reps if you are to sustain high strength performance over time. in other words, your training has to consist of few rep maxing but be more varied, because you're actually aiming to use your body for something, not just "look good"
  8. their response is in the interest of their people, as so many South Koreans will invariably suffer if they DO go to war. that's the legitimate threat, and deterrent of a large military operation. this act of war, should never and would never have resulted in a war. it's too trivial to merit armed conflict. that's how realpolitik functions: pragmatism rather than principle. Very often, doing what is right isn't what's best, that's why the political advice of the average "man-in-the-pub" doesn't function in reality.
  9. at least to me, it seemed there was about an hour of a panicky mood after the update, as people just aren't used to santas being bought out. Demand today is a lot higher, unless a ton of santas have sold since last time i was in w2 today. again, now that santas have street, who would want to trade them in the ge, especially for less than max when they could slowly trade them off update by update if they want to sell? other takes from other knowers would be nice :)
  10. in the mid-term perspective: yes. right now they hold about a crown in market value (w2) meaning merchants are unlikely to sell them on the ge. why would that value diminish as they're still bought out? Even if a hoarder sold off on the ge, there are tonnes of offers up buying santas for max (trying to for a crown as likely profit) where there are few sellers.
  11. a little harsh for keeping an army of 1m+ soldiers while the general population starve, and lack the most basic necessities ( according to the red cross delegation that were actually allowed into the country earlier this year)? when dealing with extreme totalitarian regimes, your actions need to be extreme, and extensive. that's what the american strategy of proportional response is all about.
  12. the ease of merchanting on the ge pretty much dictates that more and more solo merchantmen want rares, or need rares as their cash piles can't be flipped every day due to 10 item limits on the expensive items. as they don't consistently have street value, santas and other rares on the edge of being bought out / being buyable are good items to short term / flip when you're camping ge updates anyway. the rares economy is becoming more and more a closed market within the merchanting community. I don't see a money-sink changing that particularly either: 1-2% profit flipping every day means you can invest in the money sinking activity, unless it's crazily expensive, and at the same time get your increased amounts of rares / cash. there are simply many successful merchantmen, merchanting is easy and few rares to go around. EDIT: I've just had an offer of egg for santa + junk. 3 times in 20 mins in world 2. I only had cash, but wanted to control the legitimacy of the offers. they all accepted 2nd trade screen, although i chickened out, cause i didn't have junk. would you trade a santa + junk for an egg atm?
  13. I think you might like Vikram Seth's "The golden gate" which is a novel entirely in verse. I started the complete short stories of Ernest Hemingway recently. The classics are underrated by those with a taste for modern literature in my opinion. they have withstood the test of time, and i have yet to read a classic and not thoroughly enjoy it, also for what they're worth: a window into the attitudes of the past.
  14. A skiller is always welcome in a team of high levels to get around the 90 cb exp restriction. ;) The problem with that is - it's quite unfair. The high levels do all the work, and the skiller either AFKs or does very little. In the end the skiller gets far more xp than those who actually contributed by doing nothing. Actually, I've tried this method myself and unless the skiller is very helpful it only gives a marginal increase in xp rates. Skillers lower the mobs's combat levels.Making it easier for the higher levels. only if the average combat level is low ( 4 130+ and a lvl 80 doesn't do much). the creatures exist in sets of tiers, just like everything else in dungeoneering. but if you have a group of 110s-115s, the lvl 80 drops the tier difficulty significantly. there's also a lot greater difference in difficulty of killing low level creatures (lvl 75 vs 70) than the higher creatures (lvl 141 vs 136 in the case of forgotten warriros) this topic isn't for that though
  15. yeah, i posted the apparent 102,8m as an indicator that they were soon going to be bought out again, sorry for not specifying that. anyway, crowns are still going for 3-5k unfs in w2. doesn't seem wergs are dead after all, as crowns still seem to work at least with masks/ santas. did we write off unfs too fast (they don't have a long-time future, but decent at the time)?
  16. thing is, even if the looks of our characters are changed, that won't change turn-based combat where you hit the opponent in the exact same way over and over again. No graphics can change that, unless a massive amount of new animations are created, and adapt to hits being blocked, strikes to different body parts etc. etc. It'll look terrible, even if we have photographic realism, due to the non-direct combat of runescape (no asdw controlling, no strike area or type control). a game engine, or gameserver update is very necessary for reducing lag, not for better graphics.
  17. santa 102,8m in ge atm apparently
  18. how long do you think the compost potion could work as currency though, before its "currency-value" due to scarcity is made up by its uselessness and more people playing the game? stable currency needs to have a future, or permanent scarcity, yet reasonable availability. It also needs to have a use, and once the compost potion has a street value of more than its useful value (in producing compost) it's on the road to decline because it is by definition over-priced. onyx' have a use. onyx rings have a use, furys have a use: these are good currency, but too expensive. Rings of stone: retired, underrated due to their increasing scarcity. what other options are there, really?
  19. 2h 30 mins tennis yesterday, same today. We started playing outdoors on clay again, so i'm pretty destroyed. especially after matching with my coach yesterday, and my other coach today. I'm in better shape than i've even been in though, so they liked my physical play and "stayer-ability". It's nice to see all the hard work translate to winning more points, not just looking good :P different muscles used on clay vs. hardcourt though, so i'm pretty destroyed all over. happy, but physically empty.
  20. it's a miracle wergalis lasted so long, especially after seeds got a ton easier to get with the scroll of life through dungeoneering (in effect needing less to get more). mature beers were attempted as currency right before the mint change, but the supply wasn't large enough for them to work. cooking them is also too easy. I would have considered blood talismans an alternative for a currency, if it weren't for their changed drop rate from cremating vyrewatch. they could still be viable though I don't really consider bob shirts a viable alternative, as the release of the thieving guild makes pickpocketing lvl 1 clues from HAM so ridiculously easy. they also have no use: any other t1 treasure trail item could be used instead. There aren't really many alternatives that are similar to werg unfs: useful but underpriced, scarce but not rare. Treasure trail items would be ideal, if they were useful. Purple sweets were currency waaay back, before the agility energy update. ( why doesn't your street price calculators have santas in them, but all the other D/C items? )
  21. in clan warring, sniping is the act of attacking opponents (usually mages, pk leaders or known fall-in leaders, audio-callers or the like) outside of the main pile. i think the 3 main definitions are now given :)
  22. you are aware that building oak dungeon doors is faster than larders right? 10 oak planks, in your first dungeon room. :)
  23. flipping will get you more in the long run. phats rarely update, and you can basically trade them for anything you want (furies, bob shirts etc.) sigils are also so heavily sniped, you'd have to be an insane ge camper catching a price update to stand a chance. going by the instant ge updater or something is too late. you're going to have to personally camp the ge and beat the automatic updaters. that means checking the ge every minute or so.
  24. I thought of suggesting nacho chip and tortilla chips. however, we all know jagex do their own thing almost all the time. suggesting something and it being implemented rarely has anything to do with each other. "great" minds think alike as the saying goes
  25. frm: Nutritionism's greatest failing is that of unacknowledged imperfection: people lie, break diets, and are just generally impossible to place in groups, control or otherwise. We're not germs in petri dishes, and you can't pretend that any evidence from unscientific studies can be considered fact. There ARE studies that refute the hyperlipid hypthesis. There are also studies that show prayer works. again, he outlines the two groups perfectly: vegetarians, and others. They have very similar behaviors, just as he outlines. if anything, that quote supports my statements. if anything, breaking diets would suggest that the vegetarians have even larger gains than 10 years added to their lifespans. you cannot deny the adventist studies and be taken seriously in a nutritonalist environment, they're that defining. you're trying to besmirch them by association because they "are studies" if you look at more than a hundred thousand individuals (!) as the adventist studies have all done, and follow them over decades, do you really think the vegetarians are going to eat less chocolate than the others? do you think these clearly religious people are going to lie when answering questioneers and participating in interviews? These factors are also all statistically taken into account, giving a margin of error, not 10 years, 123 days 12 hours, 34 minutes and 56 seconds longer longevity: rather a median with the highest uper and lower boundries given. the best studies, the largest studies, the most respected stuides, the studies the professionals rely on, these studies are more important than others. a study isn't a study. I'm sure we could find either a reasonable explanation for why prayer works (placebo effect) or a professional could find faults with the studies, the analysis or the conclusions drawn. It's a science, not a guessing game. my comment on the major points not being addressed by you still stands. do you refute the logic and evidence i've provided? do you choose to ignore it? or the third alternative (the unlikely one) changing your opinion based on new scientific evidence presented to you?
