As a collector of Action figures, sports cards and autographs, to me I see a collectible everywhere. However There is a fun paradox, In sports cards their has been for 10 years or more hits in packs called "press plates, masterpieces and 1 of 1s" meaning 1 card exists like it - period. It's a rare hit and generally they cost a lot of money - but they can be bought. However many our bought by collectors and never see resale - making it impossible for collectors to collect "1 of every card" a player has. while this practice was hated years ago - it is now accepted by the community as a way for the collectors to make themselves more distinguished from other collections. Back in 1996/1997 Pinnacle kept extras of these "1 of 1s" for damaged replacements - sometimes 2 or 3 - sometimes 5 or 10. But needless to say, the value plummeted when they went of business and they sold off everything. What was a desirable item, became something that went bidless on ebay - no one really wanted it, the demand was gone and it was tainted. Many collectors were sick - one paid $500 for a guy 2 weeks before pinnacles close and then 3 hit ebay the week after. he won all 3 for $30. In many ways this would happen with the rares and holiday items, true why some people may really want one, most people when they got it, wouldn't ever really use it and in the case of ears and scythes, it means more to the original crowd than the new. Now I am all for rs2 items being re-released as to me, it's a different game than classic and I don't see it being as big of a deal than taking away the two items that prove you played classic, and were in effect, a founding member of the game. Now personally, A book is worth alot more if it's signed. I proudly have autographs of a few of my favorite authors and would not trade them for the world. The ears fall on the same concept. If jagex was willing to compensate classic players with a special item - Ie a black party hat and a set of purple rune armor, I would gladly let those two items become re-attainable. It's not like i've used my scythe in the past two years. Now on a sidenote, I have two additional comments. In my C# Class where we have been integrating applications into web pages - my instructor commented to me (this guy does have a doctorate) that I need to retool my If statements. Also as a night shift manager for a support call center, I suppose I am tainted with the idea of rewarding my loyal customers and giving them breaks and help where I wouldn't to a new customer. People who have played this game for over half of a decade, deserve some breaks too.

It's seriously not hard to obtain both. Quite simply, that is the most inane logic I have ever heard, lets just give everyone 99 all skills, because with the right place, right time you can get an unfair advantage on other players. Using that logic, everyone's xp should be doubled each time a "Do X" is released because in the future gains will not be on the same ground. With all due respect, I don't care how long you've played. Are you higher level than me? If so, kudos to you. If not... you have a bit more work to do. ;) People really need to see that the length of time they've played really does mean little to nothing. Your actual achievements are what mean something. If I joined in 2008 and I am level 138, and I meet a level 50 who joined in 2001... why should I think highly of him in any way? I've gotten 135 levels in a year, but he's gotten 50 in 8 years. Not very good. Speaking as someone who is higher level than you and older. RSC is a different game from RS2. whether you like it or not, the stats carried over, but it's a different animal but simply, I played classic, sounds like you didn't. RS2 has built in macros, RSC did not. I like to distinguish that fact. Money can't buy everything and every item should not be attainable to all so easily. Give away the rubber chicken and yo-yo. to rs2 players, they deserve it, but the ears, scythe and tradeable rares - Lets preserve them they way they were.

I've played since july 2001. I am fine with giving RS2 players rs2 holiday items, but keep my classic items untradeables for classic players, not for RS2 players. As a proud classic player, I like the abilty to be distinguished and my age should give me the perks over RS2 players of having my pointing ears and scythe.

Not only is it a much more awesome way to die but you also can't feel death crawling onto you. Yep. You can look the shooter in the eye and it is something he will remember for the rest of his life. You go out with a since of honor by firing squad, compared to a slow, painful death that renders you useless, would rather at least stand on my two feet instead of being strapped down in a van injected and tossed out after i died.

Yeah they get in good stuff, Sometimes they have 2 for 1 or even good deals on boxsets, fox in a box was like 5 and the species boxset was 7. But I <3 big lots dvds

Dvd's in america are getting fairly cheap - you can pick up tons of decent flicks now and then at big lots for $3 or at walmart for $5. Do you guys have any equivilents to the infamous $5 bin at wally world or the such?

But I noticed the captain N dvd and the naked gun triology, so have good taste in my book. I dont know if you buy used or not, But i Know lots of euros on dvdtalk use secondspin.com - every so often thier is an unadvertised discount code "heynow" with free shipping and 20% off (its for fans of howard stern), I've ordered from them quite a bit and never had any problem. Sometimes stuff is used, sometime's it's new, but i noticed they have 11 in stock for 11.99 too. You region two fellows are lucky, some of my MOST wanted dvd's are on region two only like the iron man, spiderman, x-men 90s cartoons. At least the x-men one is getting released.

For the 9.99 it was on sale for, it was a terrific deal. I've never seen the one disk hit my normal limit for movies 5.00-7.50 and with super saver shipping, you get to get it shipped free for an order of 25. If you got a big lots nearby, you may still be able to find RKO 281 Which is an hbo original film about the making of citizen kane. I think it won some awards as well. Amazon still has the sale ongoing, 11.99 for Kane now but i would of bought it for that too. - Been thinking of picking up Ben Hur for 7.99 or [bleep] tracey for 6.99. Right now at hardees you can get three mushroom swissburgers for the price of members. So it's alot more than one bigmac ;) But I forgot to mention it was interesting they said free wasn't a demo, I've always considered it one - and I've paid for members since it was released.

I have the upmost respect for this new CEO and look forward to seeing which direction he can take the company in. He seems very energetic about the game and wants to make rs into even more of a winner than it is. It's a ballsy move, he has my support. For people who say this is all talk - while it may be, if you deal with companies on a regular basis you will see that it is promising talk, A company like hasbro is very vague and tends not to promise anything. He on the otherhand promises action which is good and generally is followed up on due to customer backlash. He seems like a winner to me.
