  1. I figured why not, so I spun around in my chair and took a self pic with my phone.
  2. As someone addicted to Caffeine, those graphs suprise me about weed and X being less addictive, I disagree out of sheer experience of knowing others on or who use both. I can only see weed being legalized and still even then - doubtful. I personally believe many more deaths will occur while drugs are still profitable. I don't feel legalizing weed is an answer to it, but I don't feel one death will spark a final attack on drugs.
  3. LOL. Had I of known you were working on it I wouldn't of bothered
  4. Ok, I got a second view and people said I was bat[cabbage] crazy to leave the spaces, So I reformatted the topic. Carry on.
  5. The last 10/1479 Songs in my itunes playlist (I left this post open as I did admin work were: Atmosphere - Saves The Day The Game - New York Afroman - Because I got High Matchbox Twenty - Kody Dragonforce - Starfire Atmosphere - Little Math You, Chumbawamba - Tubthumper Brother Ali - Star Quality St. Lunatics - Midwest Swing Matcbox 20 - Unwell What a weird 10
  6. I have my Gameboy Library and NES/SNES Library on rom format, I don't have the space to hook them up currently. Plus some of my NES games no longer function. And yes, I bought contra off of ebay - then proceeded to download it. I would mention other games, but darkdude said not too so I'm not going too. Where does mugan come into the legal debate? it's what sparked my interested in coding many years ago.
  7. While not hard music, the contrast of instruments and vocals are amazing It came out in 2007, not 2008. Yeah, but I heard it in 2008 so it became my song of 08!
  8. Good story, I read it about 8 or 9 years ago when the interwebs were young. I thought about removing the spaces, but they do make it impactful.
  9. The fact this has not been mentioned bothers me [yt]q09quI356sQ[/yt]
  10. While not hard music, the contrast of instruments and vocals are amazing
  11. My favorite metal song of 2008 [yt]hTdhXxxWREo[/yt]
  12. I agree. 92-99 combat really isn't *That* much of a difference.
  13. Lol, you're an admin, just give yourself one. (Or was that a whoosh?) I think he meant that doubts he'll ever give himself one - not that he doubts he'll ever win the rank contest :P Staff members can't enter anyway. Ranks are actually harder to think of than I thought. It took me over six months to decide on mine, I think - if not longer :P Spot on, I always figured I would give myself one and now that I can - I have no clue what to select.
  14. Not sure, Doubt i'll ever get one.
  15. Anyone who believes in karma wouldn't spend so much time gloating and laughing about misfortune falling on a child. If karma is a cabbage, so are half the people on this thread. I can't believe all of the nasty, heartless comments from mods and admins in this thread. It looks like Tip.it has gone the way of the RSOF. What a shame. Heartless? Nasty? I would like to think that comment is unfounded and radical. Most of my apathy, and humor comes from the news source, I am not a fan of most news outlets as biased media annoys me - this story was very poorly researched and did nothing more than establish an emotional jerk from the audiance, the poor kid got hurt on the internet - internet is not safe. The internet is dangerous, those damn adult's are out hurting kids, good chance the hacker is a minor too, most of the game is kids. Honestly, The kid deserves to be banned, I know too many "kids" who were banned harshly in classic and treated as adults, I suppose to me any other sort of justice is unfair and largely the fact that he is unbanned, makes me feel like cheating occurred. While I do tend to speed from time to time, the fact is - in life, most things have punishments. If I speed, I might get a ticket, but I live in a small town where sometimes I hit that dirt road and it's just me for miles. Comparing cheating - something that can get you kicked out of uni or in trouble in school - is bad. For starters we don't know the whole story and we likely never will. But for a news article centered around RWT and it being ripped from him - Thats not exactly going to win you over friends. While it is sad his entire christmas is now gone, it' was also used to something that in our game, is a very hard and bad offense that carries a stigma. Rules are rules, and he broke them, considering this rule changed the wild, trade and the game alot - it's not like he abused the penguin bug. I find it hard to believe a seemingly ok 11 year old would go to a gold website - not realize it's illegal if he plays the game and not know what he was doing was wrong. an old adage went "items come and go, xp is forever" - quite often in classic. In his case, he broke a rule and doesnt deserve his xp, but he has it, so he should count himself lucky.
  16. In the state of North Carolina - John could get a ticket for going 45 in a 45 in icy conditions, A smart driver should always slow down in icy conditions, speeding in ice, is foolish not only to yourself, but others as well. I dont drink, but I don't see how you can use that as an example since he had a DD. Not even a just comparison, no one should have to worry about assault. The kid was 11 yes, but over time ALOT of pkers were in the 10-14 age range and some were quite good. It's not a hard concept to argue and I would believe the younger you are - your reflexes are better. Although it's cold, I can see why people are so adamant about his RWT being karma, as for his age? I signed up and got 200 feedback on ebay before I was of legal age to use it. if the kid got banned for RWT would you of cared? honestly? I mean if age is the case, unmute j mag after 6 years because he was a kid at the time.
  17. You know, Just because you are old, does not mean you are computer stupid, I work for an isp and quite a few of our senior citizen customers are more adept or just as good as those from 30-40. One gentlemen flew fighter plans in world war 2 and now runs linux AND teaches Mac/Windows courses at a local library. I kid you not when I say this guy in his late 70's, could seriously work support and do better than most 18-20 year olds. As he said "You have to learn to love to learn". Most adults do not. It isn't like runescape warns you about other websites, and to only put your password on on runescape, not to mention any kid who can read would understand RWT is illegal after all of the trading hoopla. I hate to be a cold bastard, but I don't really feel sorry for timmy because jagex has made this game idiot proof, and judging from his bounty hunter kill picture - he was not exactly game stupid, but my question is what is someone with stats like his doing in BH with gear like that? Chances are the guy who killed him, killed him for RWTing and wasn't involved in the RWT - or I doubt he would post a picture lol
  18. Only real men catch a shark Seriously. It's the ultimate test of manhood. How many sharks can YOU catch!?! Possibly at least perhaps one more maybe than you, potentially I hope so - since shes not a man.
  19. Only real men catch a shark Argh, I am not a man, I've only caught lots of trout! Edit: here is the news link with a jagex response http://www.abc15.com/content/news/inves ... lekJw.cspx
  20. You know, F2P must be for the younger crowd, as clearly they cannot be much older and catch shark. LOL Couldn't resist
  21. Just another biased news story on the mass media, with a story. Typical media. I like how they said it was a "Rare chance" to join a clan, man, they make it sound like it's impossible to join a clan. I just find it sad he RWT'ed and he lost it. For some reason, I just laugh when it says "he can act like someone much older, Catching shark" Like shark is a sign of manhood or something,. Also - why didn't timmy set a bankpin?
  22. Props to you soma, I never thought I would hit such an intellectual discussion on the video game forum, I am enjoying this I never stated it was a good thing, While I enjoy violence, I guess I grew up on it, Die Hard, Comic books, contra and GI Joe, the Difference is knowing it's fiction to me. Most Mainstream violence paints a clear picture of good vs evil, you rarely see a bad guy displayed in the mainstream who you grow attached too during a course of a film or game. We are made to dislike them. Making most linear violence ok because they have commited a crime so bad, they need to pay. As far as violence like say final fantasy, the story is fantasy, is tales of caveman killing dinosaur's violent? Is killing a bug in your room violent? Personally to me - No. The difference is - I can separate fantasy from reality, While I may play violent games, None of the aforementioned things like murder, thieving etc have the lasting physcological impact that rape does. Asides, Violence is not the only issue. Too true of words. Honestly outside of Japan, these games have little to no market, USA is to my knowledge the most second liberal game market, Many of our M games get banned elsewhere, Like manhunt 2 - that we don't even bat an eye over here. Japan has a different culture than we do, and i've been to lots of places where comics/anime goods are sold and NEVER seen a hentai game in person. To say that the market is big, Is like comparing american flag sales elsewhere - I clearly believe outside of japan and similar countries - The market for these games is very very small. I never justified morality for anything. Slavery was wrong, and I am from the South and know both sides of the issue well, no tension exists here right? Not really, If anything slavery has had such a traumatic effect in the south people still demand reparation for it today. You don't really hear of people watching gone in 60 seconds demanding a free car from the movie company because they had one stolen - you do hear of rape victims having psychological issues throughout life. Depending on your religion, Things are weighed differently, Supposedly worrying is a sin, but you know, I dont see people ever mention little things like that as bad. Do I think if the civilians tried to run from car's, screamed and the bodies were mutilated and it was graphic, censoring would be a thought but did you know you will soon be able buy this in a regular mainstream toy isle or at least in FYE/Suncoast etc? http://www.figures.com/sponsors/images2 ... 00x494.jpg George Patton, Robert E Lee, Grant, Macnamera, Doolittle, and others are men who killed in mass who are praised as hero's. Do you think the Nuclear bombing of Hiroshima was taken as mass murder to the US? War is hell, I bet the Japanese felt differently though. Do I think Rapists are despised more than murderers? Honestly yes. I know for me - I could find forgiveness easier in someone who shot someone vs someone who took a child's innocence. I guess alot of either people share my beliefs since most local county newspapers (At least in the south), Have a registered sex offender photo gallery every week in the paper. No such directories exist for thieves and murderers. I've often heard the arguement the USA was founded on terrorism, after all - did we not terrorize the british goverment?
  23. Personally we are desensitized to graphic and physical violence while not sexual violence. Look at Cartoons of the 80's Gi Joe was a billion dollar brand - that sold kid's tanks, planes, and basically, war. Toys are more hardcore now. Look at Movies. Red Dawn was considered "Violent" but is now - nothing, Punisher War Zone and Dark Knight - Dark and gory films in ways, got tons of parents flocking to see them because the characters have household status. Society thrives on violence, it's evident in Rap - which has been relying om drugs, violence and misogyny. However from a moral standpoint - It is week when amazon pulls that and leaves a movie like Salo http://www.amazon.com/Salo-120-Days-Sod ... 385&sr=8-1 Online. I enjoyed Saints Row 1 & 2 - Why violent and immoral - the story was so well done and far fetched you had to know it was fantasy. Asides if you got shot in real life, smoking weed won't restore your health. I think it comes down to cultural taste - While it may be ok to glorify violence, and it's been glorified since the roman era, Sexual violence such as rape - has never really gotten acceptance outside of japan. Now while yes the game is a fantasy, I do think you cross a line of morality when you simulate rape on a child in a "game". While I see your viewpoint, and respect it, I just don't see how you can compare stealing a car in an sandbox enviroment and running over a civilian that the AI is so stupid the civ wont move, to a game that you rape people in any fashion. I've played saints row 2 through with over 10k civilians dead, and through it with 3. It's all based on how you want to play the game and how you want to play. Personally if the game removed children from the equation, I feel amazon would of looked silly removing the game, because yes, in many ways SR2 is worse. But in some countries a game with "Child rape" is possible child pornography. It's a fine line between decency and ethics. I think a fine line of what goes points to GTA3? The Hot Coffee bug, The game was pulled NOT because you could murder, steal and kill people, but because of a bug using a gameshark that let you have sex. Custards last stand - a horrible atari game is still mentioned to this day - because it involves racism and rape I think it boils down to social decency and where you are from and what boils down to the act of being "heinous". Most movies, tv programs, cartoons, music, plays and forms of media have exposed us to increasingly violent act's (guns, carjackings etc) and the same can not be said for sexual activity.
