So if all these clan officials have such a huge issue with teams, why aren't more clans disallowing teams? I know of only one or two clans that truly forbid teams. Why aren't there more, if there are really so many people who feel so strongly about this? If multiclanning is really a threat to main clans, you would think that people would outlaw this outright. Is it just the Top 10 Flock Mentality? ie Corr/VR/EoS don't ban it so we won't. Or is it that people just don't see this as a threat, just more competition for members (which isn't always a bad thing)?

Why has 2m and DH felt the need to crash fights as of late? They're strong clans in their own right, I would assume they wouldn't need to resort to such things. Used to have high opinions of both of them...

That's actually my biggest issue with this current generation. The individual can do a hell of a lot more damage than a clan ever could nowadays. And there's virtually no way to stop it. They know this. If you have the financial means, you can obtain a botnet and wreak havoc and you'll have NO chances of being caught. Hacking, DDoS'ing...they're virtually impossibly to trace and press charges because of how volatile computer data is. 'No Honor' clans like Noobs Inc were a known quantiy. They could be dealt with. Their damage they could do was strictly limited within the confines of the game--where such things belong. It did make things more interesting, for all they were annoying as hell.

This is what I've seen too, over the months. More flaming, more spam. As a user, I feel that so long as the rules are enforced and it does not encroach upon discussion, then it doesn't matter. So far, I feel that is where Tip.it still holds the advantage. But that's just me.

This is my feeling as to what teams truly existed for. I had no issue with teams. I felt that it was wrong if people chose teams over their clans, sure. But I also feel that if the clan wants to lower themselves to the point where they're letting their members get away with it, that's their fault. If you're going to quibble over semantics we'll be here all night beating a dead horse. :P

Hasn't really changed in Solace. We started as a collection of EX-SE members, so the concept of honor was no stranger to us. And as we got stronger, it still hasn't changed. There's just more of us now ;) There aren't a lot of honor clans out there. Most clans think it okay to crash others every time they go out into the wilderness, whether they're in planned fights or not. Some individuals think it's okay to be the most vile person they can. And of course, there's DDoS'ing. I think the futility felt by clans with being unable to stop DDoS'ers and the like, the overall continued decline of the community, and such has lead to lower standards. The good ones are still out there--you just have to sift and sort through them.

The Clan Improvement Council no longer exists, but the principles at the heart of it (ie intimate workings between community and staff in a focused setting) is found in The Conclave forum. The Clan Chronicle also still exists, and we're going to try to push out a March issue. We're going to be looking for more writers soon, most likely, so PM Laikrob or me if you're interested--even if it's just a guest article :) Both of these things are in 'work in progress' stages as we get them back up to speed.

Insofar as I know its effects on your combat level will be minimal and you shouldn't really suffer for it. However, I'm not the most well-versed f2p pure pker out there, so I'd wait for second opinions.

You have so many choices on how to go about making a website. It's really up to you. Do you have any background in web design? Are you familiar at all with CSS, PHP, or even HTML? You can find some detailed tutorials here: http://www.w3.org/2002/03/tutorials#webdesign_script Alternatively, you can always get something mocked up in Microsoft Frontpage, if you're really hesitant to start learning HTML/CSS/ETC.

[hide] I'll clarify some points here and illustrate them, the names freed up was purposely designed for Name Changing ONLY the reason being if names were released to new accounts then one player would reserve masses of names, 10-20 or more, this way you can only change once every 28 days.. so basically you need to be a member and haven't changed in the last 28 days to be able to pick one of these names. If you're checking names go through Name Changing and try manually don't use IRC scripts or create account on the RuneScape website as it will say unavailable, so please make sure it's under 'account management' -> 'display names'. I feel sorry for people who gave into this Rawr_Name fiasco now they can't pick some lovely names. And I love the name "Kimberly" Lady Ninane it's really unique congratulations and enjoy it :) I hope this has cleared some things up, Smellysocks Aka Toad [/hide] Yeah, haha. I was complaining how my chosen names weren't available. He asked if I was sure. Then he called me an idiot because the !available check doesn't check for DNs. :P

Gasp! Well for you IRC savvy people, you might know Runescript has an !available function to check if a name is available. If you're using that to check whether or not your name is available--DON'T TRUST IT! Go check it through the actual "Change Display Name" feature. I switched my DN to "Kimberly", my first name. I'm so happy! <3

The only old names I care about aren't free. ;(
