Money making for SS
The easiest answer that you'll probably get a lot will be killing green dragons, whether that will be in the Chaos Tunnels or north of Varrock in the wilderness. If that is something you can endure, it'll probably yield the most profit with the least amount of skill/luck. But if that's not something you'd prefer doing, please share some more information about yourself so we can give you more specific answers :D

Levelling hunter
^ +1 To add to that, it's helpful if you've completed the quest "Dealing with Scabaras" so you can create the enchanted water tiara. It essentially will replace your need for waterskins, freeing up more inventory space for you to catch orange salamanders.

Clan loyalty, less important these days?
But what I'm trying to say is that getting to know a clan's community is either impossible due to their structure or misleading. I thought the clan's community was one thing, but then experience proved it to be something else. (Yes I partially couldn't be active enough for it too, but that wasn't my main factor for leaving.) So given this, why is it particularly necessary for a person to invest all that time when they could end up being horribly mislead? That would be a waste of time. And a person shouldn't be penalized for that or mislabeled just because of this.

Tip.it Times: 29 Nov 2009
Very even coverage on the runecrafting issue! <3 Love it. The second article made a lot of...weird assumptions, for lack of a better word. I will say though, it was interesting to see an article expand upon the concept of our avatars (our inner representations) on the internet, and what things affect them. It's definitely a topic that could go even further in-depth!

Clan loyalty, less important these days?
What's the bigger waste of time: joining a clan to try it out and then leaving once you decide you don't like it or staying in a clan as a half-assed, inactive member for some inane sense of 'honor'? I'd rather be labeled a 'clan hopper' than just another inactive face in the crowd. I got a feel of a clan's community by idling in their IRC. I didn't really know anyone, but I liked what their community looked like on the outside. So I joined. A month later, I found out that it really wasn't the clan for me and I couldn't dedicate enough time to it, and I left. I don't see anything wrong with that, nor do I consider it a 'waste of time'. For the time I was in that clan, I gave 100%, loved it heart and soul, and posted as often as I could to get closer to the community. I didn't waste their time, and they didn't waste mine. It was a fair exchange. I don't know if you had extreme amounts of luck when you were looking at a clan once upon a time, or maybe you've just been a leader for too long, but not a lot of clans are the same in public as they are within their community.

Clan Section Suggestions & Improvements
Well sure. I totally despised it when I was a mod and TWR was probably half the activity. But we also only had two people that worked on the TWR, me and Dbz. You have to look at the quanity of staff that is here. We have a total of 10 clan staffies. You're comparing apples to oranges. Those who were kind enough to be a part of this rebuilding community are able to compare the levels of activity from the past to the present. As such, anyone with an ounce of wit can see the difference and conclude that the workload has increased substantially, in every aspect. I appreciate what constructive criticism has stemmed from this thread but these last few posts are rather one-sided and ignorant.

Clan loyalty, less important these days?
1. How important is loyalty in clans these days? Loyalty in clans is always an immeasurable quantity in high demand. Clans need that core group of people who are willing to return a bit more than everyone else, who are willing to take some time out of their day to hang out with other members, who are willing to step up. Those core group of people are more influential than the leadership can be--they are generally the more active face of the clan that new members can identify. They'll set the tone of the community, and the attitude for success. One clan had a stellar, mature community. They were close-knit and happy together, both retired members and active members. But as the ratio from retired:member skewed to the other end of the spectrum and those core members retired, no one started to shape that new feeling. The community became depressed and self-loathing, yet still in a few random individuals streaked with pride and a small, smouldering hope that things would come alive again...sadly those few were those who should've retired long ago, and simply couldn't be active enough to get the ball rolling. That core group was gone, and none of the newbies knew how to do it--how could they? Their role models were gone. Apply that same mentality to what's happening now. Look at the trends. While it's not a perfect fit, which seldom happens anyway, the situations between the clan community and one insignificant clan are eerily similar. Ask yourself, where has your role model gone? Who do you aspire to? Are you just in your clan for the rune? Are you there because it's now become your habit? If so, you're no better than the w141 clan'ers out there. Clans are a place of community and self-improvement--or at least, once upon a time they were. And while this isn't a fairy tale, I find myself wishing for that 'once upon a time' to return, and fast. 2. Do long lasting members in a clan still recieve the respect they deserve? It depends on the individual. Like stated before, there can be those long-lasting members in a clan who are no better than vegetables on life-support. While they might have legitimate reasons for not being more active, they also don't know when to call it quits. They always think, "Well this will change soon!" By my experience, this never really happens. Yet they've been in the clan for so long, it's almost taboo to confront them on it. It's almost like how you'd scold your ailing grandfather, and he'd start telling you about how he fought for your freedom in Vietnam. There are some long-lasting members who withstood the test of time. Ghjff, for example. Yes, Damage Inc did close in the end; but all throughout that clan's history, he was there as a long lasting, semi-active member.

The Tempest Is Inevitable
I like your forum's color scheme. Good luck with recruiting! 14 members is a very good start for only being open a week. :)

Masters of Dragons Closes
I never saw a clan fight so hard from within to rise back to power. You went out of the box and tried new things with enthusiasm--like RSB recruiting. I remember the incarnations of Masters of Dragons throughout my time in the clan community and all of those memories are ones of fondness and respect. Later, MoD.

Two questions
The zombies will be available to you even after completing the quest. Thanks to the Armored Zombies location right near a pray altar, you can use the piety prayer to speed up exp per hr drastically. Without piety, Armored Zombies are unremarkable--60k per hour but nice noted drops. With piety and void/max strength setup, people can reach upwards of 100k exp per hour there. However, it's not an afk'able training method. They have the chance of dropping obsidian items, such as the obsidian cape or the obsidian maul, which can net you a small chunck of profit. Also, they drop tokkul which can be exchanged for uncut onyx. These are in high demand right now thanks to soaring Amulet of Fury prices. They also drop onyx bolt tips, which sell for a hefty bit. Alternatively, people could be killing them for obsidian charms used in summoning. I wouldn't really say it's profitable unless you get lucky on a drop.

Starting a clan
Do yourself a favor and read up about principles of leadership. As much as we like to disregard it, the people we play with are, in fact, people. The fundamentals of leadership are universal, and therefore can be applied to any sort of structure out there. Not everyone is a leader. The only way you'll find out if you are or not, though, is if you try. So try. It's hard, it's miserable, and it's a thankless job. But when you do it right, and you do it well, the feeling of satisfaction and the friendships you make are indescribable. Not going to repeat much else; I believe Dandaman gave you some of the best information out there. It's a process, and it first helps to get experience within an established clan structure.

Jagex Aid Arrest of Runescape Account Hacker
The saying "Good luck, I'm behind 7 proxies!" exists for a reason. Good luck convicting him, should his crimes be serious to go to a trial. Though, I'm not very familiar with the court system in the UK so meh. Jagex has surprisingly enough been at the forefront of minimizing the damage done by cyber-crimes. I'm sort of glad they used their expertise in these kinds of things outside the realm of credit card fraud and onto something else.

New Skill Hint?
[12:01] <+[OO]RuneScript> *** [ 7JAGEX ]: [7twitter] Coming Soon To #RuneScape: Can you spell update? ;) ~ Ems(RSDev) @ 7http://twitter.com/OfficialJagex/ Does this mean we'll be seeing this new skill sooner than we thought? We weren't expecting the new skill to come out until after 2010. Wouldn't it be something if it was coming out this week? X)

Oh god, there goes another one!
I think I've been very nice regarding the fact that there are some people bashing someone who hasn't even had a chance to prove himself yet, let alone the rest of the team. Keep it on topic, and I'll address complaints individually.

Dangerous CWA? Overlooked and undervalued?
Unless we were 1) winning 2) in a pk trip, I was usually told not to loot. It slows you down and takes up space where you could've looted food. All this great chance at gain is what, 30k-60k on average if you even get the kill? I could understand the argument for corrupt items, but they're so rare that they hardly come into play in your opportunity cost. All dangerous CWA is missing is a time limit on how fast you can return to better replicate the actual aspect of returning and a decent wilderness based map.

Oh god, there goes another one!
If you mean being an integral part of the community, displaying initiative, showing that you have some fundamental properties of leadership then you're right. I guess it doesn't take much! ;) Fair enough, even though this topic isn't the best place to go into such debates X) I'll tell ya, honestly, that those two things you mentioned especially are getting heavy focus, and these will be changing. But let's take this opportunity to keep it on topic for now eh? I'm sure that if you have opinions or feedback, you can post it on this thread.
